I speak 3 languages, English, Japanese and one more.

@ComfyAko Were you raised speaking both English and the other? Also, you speak Japanese? How fluent are you?

@TeaCatherine yeah, I was speaking English since my early childhood, and I got better and better by playing video games.

I can speak some Japanese, I'm at JLPT N5 level by certificate (1st out of 5), but I'm pretty sure I could tackle N4 exam now. JLPT is an international Japanese exam. So I can speak a bit, and I understand quite a bit but I still have a long long way to go

@ComfyAko I'll be honest I still have no clue where that places your Japanese skills. I'm always jealous of people who learn more than one language growing up because it apparently makes it easier learning more languages.

@TeaCatherine My Japanese skills are a bit above total noob. I think there is another trick, most European languages are pretty similar because of their Latin origin. Like to cross in French is "traverse" but the last e isn't silent, etc.

When you start Japanese, nothing makes sense and no matter how much you listen to it, you won't be able to read a single sentence if you don't know loads of very very random Kanji

@ComfyAko Yeah, and I think German and French are the easiest for English speakers to learn?
It's easy to pick up random words from anime and Japanese dubs of games but that doesn't give you a clue how they look written down.

@TeaCatherine Exactly. Also, if you want to read something, you need a dictionary because there is a ton of signs you didn't know existed, even if you knew the normal writing of the word. Not to mention, you can't start from zero and understand something, like in latin languages

Do people really care this much about a blue checkmark? It’s not like paying for twitter is worth it, but at the end of the day it is a checkmark. Just pay the $8 if it really matters to you that much.

@blindsquarel I saw a YouTuber by the name of penguinz0 (that’s also MoistCritikal) who did an experiment on how much worth the blue checkmark holds. He bought the checkmark 2 months ago to see what you could do with it. He said it was worthless. Editing is pointless, since you can just delete a tweet and rewrite a new one. Longer tweets mean nothing, since you can just create a twitter thread. He basically deemed it worthless and I agree. That’s why we have that meme where people say “This mf payed 8 dollars” making fun of the Blue users. Its just a useless laughing stock. The mark has been unfavourable with almost every celebrity on twitter, so what Elon has done is actually payed for some of these celebrities’s checkmarks with his own money, specifically to the ones who spoke out against the checkmark like Stephen King and Lebron James. This is tricking some people, who call Stephen and Lebron hypocrites, but most people just know it’s Elon’s fragile ego in the end. Such a stupid and worthless situation

I agree that the subscription is worthless, but I just don’t see why people are complaining so much about losing the checkmark. If you deem the subscription worthless, why complain about losing the perks of said subscription.

It’s like complaining about no online play when you don’t pay for Switch Online or any other online gaming service. Like, what did you expect.

Yeah, what Elon has done with Twitter hasn’t been great. I think he had some good ideas, but the execution of said ideas has been terrible.

Mostly just the censorship restrictions being lifted. While I do think the restrictions are to loose right now, it isn’t right that one side of the political spectrum was censored, while the other wasn’t. Both sides suck, but even if you disagree with something somebody says, it doesn’t mean they should be censored.

Most everything else has been crap.
