@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Yeah, you have a point it's not really the animation that matters, it's the content. I just have problem ignoring it sometimes.

Very unpopular opinion about animation: Hannah Barbera cartoons were horrible in ways of technical delivery, even though they were not ugly on purpose

@ComfyAko Well, they were made with limited amounts of time and money. The olden days of animation were not pretty for animators (and sadly still not).

@Kermit1 That's really true. I just see many people singing praises and calling it the superb animation studio, even though the animations were very lazy (characters running to the side, scrolling backgrounds, etc.) Idk maybe I'm biased against them because they were my least favorite as a kid.

It's really true that animation is a very heavy slice of bread. Always has been. People see the finished product only, they never really appreciate the effort.

@ComfyAko I mean look at the current CGI problem, it's used everywhere and people don't realize that some animator (this even applies to game devs) somewhere is working 12-day weeks and is missing time they could be spending with family because they don't want Bob to have to fill in for them while they take a break.

Crunch culture, I hate it.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika The trailer for this came out. Looks pretty decent, if it's on Disney+ I'll try it out.

@Kermit1 Crunch culture is one of the worst things in the workforce altogether. Especially when it's sciefintically proven that people work more when they have 5 - 6 work hours/day instead of 8, and some people have to go through 12h/day work because the bosses don't understand basic logic and think that humans are robots. It's especially bad in animation and games though, as you said.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Oh the one with Scooby Doo? I liked that one. I hated wacky races, flintstones, jetsones etc.

@ComfyAko I've heard some game-dev horror stories where they slept in the "studio" almost every night under their desk by their computer to keep warm just to meet a deadline.

@ComfyAko
I don't think Hanna Barbera cartoons was that bad. Used to be I watched some Hanna Barbera cartoons such as Jetsons, Flintstones, Peril & Penelope Pitstop, Wacky Race, etc when I was kid. Even I have a full set of Qubix Tazos of Hanna Barbera characters.

@Kermit1 Out of many things that are not okay, this one is nearing the top of not okay things

@Anti-Matter That actually reminded me of some of the cartoons I hated seeing. Yeah, definitely not my style.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika honestly, I probably wouldn't mind using Disney+, it's just that I don't tend to watch a lot of stuff normally. If I were to sub, then I'd feel obligated to use it a ton just to get in my money's worth. Which would be fine if I didn't have so many hobbies and interests.

That description of the Octo Expansion is intriguing I admit. I might give it a try at some point in that case. I always figured the story modes in those games only has about as much substance as the Smash titles.

I weaned myself off of soda several years ago. I avoided it entirely until about the last year or so. Now I'll very rarely have a little as a treat, usually mixed or paired with something. (Floats, harder alcohols (I rarely drink this stuff either), the saintly popcorn/soda combo, etc.)

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Funny how both your examples were of films with blue people in.

@Tyranexx Art definitely takes quite a lot of time and dedication, yes, so I understand that you're not too into it. There may be one or two areas in my drawing that I would start overthinking, such as a character's hands for example. So I'd want all my drawings to be as good as possible in my eyes, lol. Yeah, abstract art is pretty challenging to make. I've done artwork like that in one of my other art classes, and from what I can remember, you pretty much have to arrange all your shapes in a way that makes sense, something like that. Abstract art is really cool to look at, though. I think I'm best at drawing characters, scenes, and objects, too. Especially when it's still life.

That's cool. In C++, I experimented with a text adventure game where there would be treasure to find, with different paths to take. I don't think I used C# that much.

@Zuljaras Oh that's awesome, glad to hear you're gonna be having a larger crafting station.

@Fizza No worries, that's fine. I figured you were busy so I'm not upset about it. Thanks for letting me know, whenever's a convenient time for you.

@Sunsy I've heard Splatoon had story modes, but I've read middling impressions about them online. Depends on who you ask though lol. Crazy as it sounds, I think the completionist part of my brain would go crazy with Animal Crossing. That's partially why I haven't bought it lol.

Oh yeah there is so much. All I have is New Horizons and the original game, they're fun, but I don't think I ever got everything in them. I still remember the NES games that the original Animal Crossing had.

EaglyTheKawaiiShika wrote:

@Sunsy Sharktales was just a bad movie. They made an unlikabe protagonist, love interest and secondary protagonist. The movie is unfunny makes bad pop culture references and is trying to be the next shreck without understanding how Shrek functions. A video game would probably be better because then it would have more competent writers

I’ve never been too into the Smurfs I’ve seen the og show and live action movie but didn’t go that much further. The new movie and new show however do look good. And it’s good that they are having games developed that aren’t trash. I hate licensed garbage and microids putting effort into thier games to avoid making shovelware is a great sign of thier respect for the franchise

Puss 2 is amazing I know I said this 100 times but I’ll say it 100 more the movie isn’t okay or passable or a brand extension. Puss 2 is an amazing movie period there is no lack of quality or reliance on you liking it because shreck it 100% justifies its own existence

Awkward about rick and morty now that the creator is being accused of beating his girlfriend. It came out of nowhere. I hope that it’s proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he is innocent but I really did not expect the news to come up right now

Yeah, I did have fun with it as a PC game, and have more memories of that as oppose to the movie itself.

Indeed, compared to the previous Smurfs games by Ubisoft, I'm happy Microids is putting care into these games. The Wii U Smurfs 2 was a platformer by WayForward, but it was just a regular nothing special platformer, the 3DS game was like a mini-game collection, but it was a step in the right direction being inspired by the comics. Yeah The Lost Village and the new cartoon is great, have the cartoon on DVD thanks to the lack of cable, but I'm glad to have seen it.

I'm so glad to hear! Hoping my friend and I can catch it in a theater, worst case scenario we'll probably rent it digitally. We want to see it on the big screen. Especially after seeing Trolls World Tour this past summer. Kind of crazy watching a movie I've seen plenty of times and all the details the big screen brought. It's sad it missed its initial theatrical release. I can only imagine how Puss In Boots looks.

Ouch, unfortunate timing too, my friend showed me an episode of it the other day too.

@Sunsy That's cool. Looks like Trolls 3 will come out on Mario Kart: Double Dash's 20th anniversary... gosh, I feel old saying that, lol! I didn't have MKDD when it came out, but I did get it as a Christmas present back in 2003, and I still have my copy of it. Enjoy the movie when it comes out. Thank you - we just got a couple Mario balloons yesterday, and we'll be picking up my cake from the bakery when it gets closer to my birthday. We're planning on having mushroom fettuccine for dinner that day, as well! Thought I'd mention that to you since you enjoy cooking.

Well then, looks like I'm going to try to play Mario Kart Double Dash after I see Trolls 3 then, lol. I rented it, but bought it near the tail end of GameStop selling GameCube stuff. Thanks I will. Universal releases the Trolls movies, it would be crazy to see a Trolls 3 trailer alongside the Super Mario Movie.

Sounds like good plan for your birthday! Funnily enough, I'm not a mushroom guy, but I do enjoy making them for my mom since she loves mushrooms saute in olive oil and garlic powder. Enjoy the meal.

@MarioLover92 I would try to avoid certain poses for hands and would typically compensate with them being set on a surface. Then I'd use something to at least partially hide faces to make those easier lol. That abstract art class was interesting for sure, though I certainly struggled with aspects of it.

@EaglyTheKawaiiShika Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if Disney DID eventually buy Nintendo Life lol. I may have to Disney+ at some point. Like I said, I don't miss soda at all. 🙃

@Sunsy I have yet to play any Animal Crossing title, though I've been aware of the franchise's existence for some time. No GameCube, and I skipped it on the other platforms.

@Tyranexx That's alright, my mistake, I also played Amiibo Festival in addition to those two, so three games. I got it when Toys R Us was going out of business for $6, it was cheaper than getting one amiibo. I missed the DS and Wii ones.

Fun part of Animal Crossing, I introduced a friend to it as well as Metroid Prime. He was surprised he slept on those games and loves them now.

@Sunsy
You know what ?
You can play Amiibo Festival Wii U by Solo play.
All you need is at least 4 Animal Crossing Amiibo figurines then when you play the Board game mode, play all the four figurines and don't try to tackle each other because you need a lot of Happy points for each figurines to level up (you will unlock new outfits and new expression) so try to not landing on negative floors or sabotage other players.
I played Amiibo Festival Wii U too with this way.

@Anti-Matter Huh? I thought it had single player. I remember playing it as one player against CPU. Unless this is something else? I do have multiple figures, I have Rover, Blathers, Tom Nook, Digby, and Isabelle amiibo, so I do have more than four of them.

@Sunsy
You can choose play with 4P mode if you have 4 Amiibo figurines so you will not play against CPU, you can take control all the players when you play until 4 players mode.
Whoever win doesn't really matter because your Amiibo figurines will leveled up after the board game finished so don't sabotage each other (intentionally landed on negative panels) since the more you avoid negative inputs, the more Happy points you will get.
I have played Amiibo Festival in Solo mode with 4 figurines without against CPU all the time since I played my games alone and I can take control all of them so I have to make sure all my Amiibo figurines leveled up quickly.
