@Link-Hero
I know how you feel.
I've been suffering from depressions and anxieties since childhood after experiencing a traumatic event. Therapy and medication sure helps but the world around us can make it very difficult at times to stay positive and keep going.

I too barely had any friends until I went to group therapy for a couple of years. Out of all the people I got to know there, three of them became close friends. Not too many, but I'd rather have three close friends than fifty distant ones.

@TheJGG
Oof, a favourite video is difficult to choose but I do have a favourite topic: extra-terrestrial life. Anything to do with space and quantum physics I find fascinating, to be honest.

Awww, thanks buddy. 🤗

@Link-Hero
Thanks. Healing is practically impossible. It's more a matter of coping, learning to live with it.
I've made decent progress throughout the years, but there'll always remain ups and downs.

@Mioaionios I have learning problems that I never knew about and it's freaking hard to be creative and get my ideas out. I also have still not processed the death of two of family members, I'm different I guess. Also something happened a few years ago an argument happened in my family (my mom and dad stayed out of the whole thing including one of my uncles), in short I don't think my whole family will be in the same room ever again and one of the things my uncle said (the one who stayed out of the whole thing) is pretty haunting because he pasted away like 5 months later in his sleep which is a whole other story.

Life is short.

I do get depressed some times and my mind goes to dark places but then I snap out of it.

Are you able to talk to somebody about your feelings and thoughts?
I would never have been able to go on without professional help and the support of loved ones.

@Mioaionios yes, I talk to cats...... I've been kinda able to talk to my parents, my relationship with my parents is like friends. I'm a very to myself person.

I'm very introvert as well and had trouble talking to others about the things that bothered me. I had to learn how to open myself up. Wasn't easy, but I'm glad I learned because it has helped me tremendously.

@Mioaionios I talk best to people (my parents) about tough things when I'm holding a cat. They calm me and I feel like I can talk about (almost) anything through the cat.

As a kid I used to get angry a lot and looking back on it now I see why, I never knew I had anxiety (my Mom kinda knew, like a theory amount) or Dysgraphia (and slow processing speed) and I didn't know how to just calm my mind and think things through because my mind is slow.

Self Music Therapy and Lego have helped me a lot.

It's good you have found ways to alleviate anxiety. It's different for everyone and there's no one way to do it. If this works for you, then that's great! Music is very important for me as well. I take a lot of public transport for instance but I NEED to listen to music while doing so, otherwise I'd go numb from all the triggers around me.

I've heard of animal crackers in your soup, but Animal Crossing in your ramen? That's a new one!

@TheJGG Their black hole videos would be my favorite. If you want to know which one specifically, that would be "The Largest Black Hole in the Universe - Size Comparison". Out of everything in space, black holes have always been the most interesting to me. Just the idea of what they are and how they work gets me to think of the many possible theories about them.

I went and gave that video a rewatch... it's really really thought provoking. Thinking about the scale of it all and the realisation of how utterly insignificant we are when it all comes down to it. Especially considering how small black holes can actually be too. A lot of Kurzgesagt videos are mainly theoretical in nature and they really ask the right questions. And they're always up front about the uncomfortable truths, that really helps with the objectivity angle.

@Mioaionios I second you there, space is an incredible topic. Sometimes we all just want to leave this place behind and go out and explore the stars, huh?

@Kermit1, yeah, I don't import a whole bunch because it can get expensive with the shipping, but I enjoy eating Japanese instant ramen as it oftentimes tastes quite a bit better than what we get over here.

Did... did someone say science?

@TheJGG @Mioaionios As far as science stuff goes, these two NHK world shows have OnDemand video pages. Science View has some REALLY good shows. https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/ondemand/program/video/sci...

Japan's Top Inventions (NHK World on demand shows) https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/ondemand/program/video/top...

Science youtube channels I regularly watch:
Anton Petrov https://www.youtube.com/c/whatdamath/videos
StarTalk https://www.youtube.com/c/StarTalk/videos
PBS Space Time https://www.youtube.com/c/pbsspacetime/videos
Veritasium https://www.youtube.com/c/veritasium/videos
PBS Eons https://www.youtube.com/c/eons/featured
(Anyone not in the US, PBS= Public Broadcasting System, it's like US's BBC.)

Definitely! Maybe that's why I love shows like Star Trek and The Orville so much.

@Mioaionios I'd like to go underground, and explore the unknown that's below our feet. I've done cave tours before and in fact I've posted about one particular time I went into a cave.

I watch a lot of StarTalk as well. The original Cosmos by Carl Sagan is what fuelled my curiosity for space and science in general and its follow-up series got me to know Neil deGrasse Tyson. Been following everything he does ever since.
PBS Space Time is way too complicated for me and I totally forgot about Veritasium for some reason. Anton Petrov I didn't know about. Will check his content for sure!

@Kermit1
Ancient caves can be really beautiful.
Never been a fan of Labyrinth unfortunately. I preferred The Dark Crystal.

Mioaionios

@Mioaionios I love anything Jim Henson, Labyrinth is not for everyone though I adore it's cheesiness and world. My Mom loves The Dark Crystal... It still scares me lol.

Has anyone seen Dog City (the movie) it's pretty underrated in my opinion.
