@Vortexeo OOF. I didn't get either though I REALLY want Star Ocean. Right now, cause I'm doing Youtube content, I'm considering more Steam games that I own or that might be interesting for a Let's Play. For the more casual gaming side of me though... is BODY READY for Metroid Dread. I have to wait till tmw. Mind if I add you on Switch? You seem like a big XC fan like me ^^!

@Ninjalaislit Ah that's good you guys got a new TV. That seems to be an interesting feature your old one had, though I don't recall having a TV with it. Then again, we never had a 3D TV to begin with. So it would automatically stretch the image to the point where you wouldn't see the black bars, right? You're good about you going into detail, no worries.

@tekoii ahhh understandable 😂. I only ask because I caved and bought FF9 lmao. Initially I wasn't going too but I opened the eShop and saw the sale only had like 10 minutes left. For some reason, seeing that just made it so much more tempting 😂.

But YES SIR, Metroid Dread is going to be amazing!! I pre ordered it digitally so (at the time of writing) I've only got an hour and a half until I can play it!

@Eel As the sun travels lower in the sky now, I've got two giant praying mantises hanging out on the window screens (to soak up the sun). They're awesome. It's funny to see their heads turn to watch you walk by.

@tekoii Sad thing is I was expecting some big reveal related to him, but no dice lol. Not that there wasn't some good character development, but that only applies to a couple of known characters. Loved the battle themes on Bionis Shoulder. The Xenoblade series in general has amazing music.

@MarioLover92 Some of those insane prices are why I'm a little more comfortable with going the digital route at times lol. Never got why people thought Super Mario 3D All-Stars would be rare; it was easy to find even after the Match 31st deadline.

I'm fine with getting the standard edition of Metroid Dread, but I really wanted the amiibo. Of course those were gone in a heartbeat. I did have a brief opportunity to get the special edition, but they sold out before I finished my order.

@TheJGG Wow. That's some high praise! I was already planning on downloading Torna sometime post XC2 anyway, but I daresay I'm more excited now. And it isn't a terrible size either!

Glad the photography is going well! Screensavers are especially fun to experiment with. Might be cool to have one with progressing scenes maybe?

@Ninjalaislit I've been very busy and not timely with replies at all, so it's really no problem. There have been longer times without any responses.

I did manage to catch the last Nintendo Direct in person since it was at a reasonable time for my schedule. A decent showing overall, nothing I needed day one, but there was something for almost everyone.

My favorite picture ever, that I’ve taken, is of a Praying Mantis, they’re really cool.

I use it as my background pretty much everywhere.

@Eel Yeah, a couple outside here are this big.😁 This what they look like. They're definitely cool. One is green with brown wings. The other all green. Both about the same size.

1. The female is bigger than the male.
2. The female will not hesitate to devour the male head during mating.
3. Praying mantis eat the prey alive.
4. Praying mantis can kill and eat humming bird, small lizard, etc.
5. I hate this insect.

@Anti-Matter Wow, I didn't know that they were able to kill Hummingbirds. They are so fast than even other birds have trouble fighting them.

Yeah, I saw a praying mantis poised next to my window-mounted hummingbird feeder a few summers ago. Which prompted me to skeptically search youtube on the topic - indeed there is footage of praying mantis preying on hummingbirds. You'd THINK those strong, fast flapping hummingbird wings would keep praying mantis from grabbing them. In the videos it's surprising how weak the hummingbirds appear to be compared to the large praying mantis.

Praying mantis have set up by my window mounted hummingbird feeder in the summers since my discovery, in which case, I coax the mantis away from the feeder. I don't know if praying mantis go out of their way to seek out hummingbirds, though. This spot on the house is also preferred by a gray treefrog almost every summer. It seems to be good insect hunting grounds.

You’re good, I should be the one who’s apologizing to you about the delayed response. Luckily, school’s going well. Yeah, I’m also working on having a balance between work/school, and my personal life.

Yeah, that makes sense. I figured that Sony would have more PS5 games to show within the first year, even if the games aren’t releasing until much later. I kind of thought the Microsoft buying Bethesda was odd. That being said, I think that the benefits of Microsoft owning Bethesda will start showing up within the next year or two, as bigger acquisitions tend to take a while to see the full effects because of restructuring stuff, and I feel that Bethesda needed a restructure because of the bizarre “stuff” they are (and have been) pulling. If anyone can pull Bethesda around, I would probably say that Microsoft could do that, considering how much they’ve turned around in the last 5-6 years, and how they’ve continued to improve since then.

Yeah, that’s a good point about Nintendo’s communication style, which can sometimes be a bit annoying and concerning at times. I feel that Nintendo’s history of well-made games will continue since Shuntaro Furukawa seems to be able to get the most out of the developers (in a good way, that is), and he really seems to care about Nintendo and gaming in general, so he kind of comes off as a Japanese Phil Spencer in a way (to me at least), if that makes sense.

I also hold NMS in a high regard as well.
When I heard that Hello Games was an indie developer, I figured that they were trying to do something ambitious and new, but it didn’t work out like they hoped it would, as they went a bit too ambitious. Wait, all the DLC had been free?! I didn’t realize that, I figured the most recent DLC was paid DLC, for some reason. Like you mentioned they’ve continued to improve it, even though they haven’t needed to. We’ll see what happens to Cyberpunk, but I don’t think it will end well.

For the peoples who said Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival was the worst game ever, i completely disagree.
Take a look the thing i made for my Math Club Extra curricular this afternoon (via Zoom meeting).

I used the gameplay idea from Amiibo Festival as my own board game with some modification to fit with Math Club Extra Curricular. I added with some a lot of new floors such as Switch Position, Treasure Box, Fishing Area, Penalty, Two Dices, Purple Question Time (Happy point reward), Yellow Question Time (Money reward).
The gameplay was similar as Amiibo Festival but if the students landed on any color of Question Time floor, I will pick a Question cards and show to the current student to answer within 1 minute. If their answer are correct, they will get 3 Happy points (Purple) or 3000 G (Yellow), but if they late to answer or give wrong answer, they will lose 1 Happy point (Purple) or 1000 G (Yellow).
If they landed on Treasure Box, they will choose 1 from 8 cards displayed backside and they will be rewarded by a lot of money but they will get lesser Happy point than Fishing Area (Lesser money, more Happy points).
Penalty floor is basically the opposite of both Treasure Box and Fishing Area (Deplete your money and happy points).
Switch Position is the floor you can switch your position with your opponent location.
The time limit was until 3 pm (until the last student turn) as the Math Club activity was over and I accumulated their money (1000 G = 1 Happy point) with their current Happy points. The winner was who have collected the most Happy points after got accumulated.

The students enjoyed my board game as during gameplay, they landed on Question Time floor oftenly so they must be ready to answer my questions whenever they landed on Question Time floor. There were two students who lost all their money for wrong answer during Question time or got penalty or landed on red floor, but there was one student who collected a huge amount of happy point and money.
Oh, the way I set my Zoom meeting for Math Club by using my laptop to show their current score on white board and I used my smartphone to show the board game and the rolling dice from Top view.
