So... Dune. I've seen the movie. It's done. @roy130390... Jesus Christ it was so good. Everything about this movie is an absolute masterstroke. The cinematography is top-notch, the music is next-level quality and the acting is amazing. Superlatives just don't do it justice, this movie is... just really good. The sheer scope and ambition of this movie is almost unparalleled, it feels like the beginning of a saga spanning decades. The movie's so... guttural, visceral and absolutely unafraid in its storytelling.

Seriously though, the score for this film... quite possibly the best film score I've heard in years.

Nice! I am a Dune fan and the other day I watched the old one. It was good movie but I hope this one surpasses it in every way.

@TheJGG OMG I can't wait till I can see it.

I think The Sims Bustin' Out peoples A/I were really dumb.
It was so hilarious to watch when yesterday I played the game and throwing a party, peoples over there were really dumb to use the toilet rooms I have provided a lot but those peoples really stuck on using the same toilet room before several of them deciding to use other toilet rooms that still empty. Peoples keep shooing other Sims for entering toilet when one Sims want to use it.
Also, I had a mission to "Try and Score 2 Sims at the same party" so I have to kiss with any other Sims that have relationship above 80 with ❤ icon. In this case, I had Dudley and Mortimer that I chose to kiss but I have to do it carefully as someone else will jealous and reduce the relationship point. I tried to kiss Dudley and Mortimer separately in different rooms where there was Randy was sleeping in bedroom while there were two peoples kissing inside and for the other room, I called Mortimer to have Try and Score inside an unused toilet. 😆
Phew.... That mission was quite hard as either of them might not have better mood to kiss each other but I have finished that mission.
And after I got "Kiss Romantically" interaction after finishing the mission "Try and Score 2 Sims at the same party", I visited Goth's Manor to find Mortimer as the target to be kissed with "Kiss Romantically".
I came, I kiss an old man (I like it 😂), I went home. Done, mission accomplished.

@Sunsy
Did you mean this ?

Well... Didn't really look like DDR machine as the screen using traditional slots to show directions to step on.

BTW, I found some Eurobeat songs of My Little Pony, really sounds like official Eurobeat songs even made by Youtubers.

@MarioLover92 I'm very surprised that the controller is using the old style of stick. While I get the authentic feel of it, they really don't last. My old N64 controller all have it a bit loose. Last time I used it was to play some Perfect Dark, and it still works despite being a bit loose.

@Anti-Matter Yup, that scene! They obviously can't use DDR due to Konami having copyright, but the similarities of the dance mat made me think of it and you.

Wow, I heard some of these before, back when the Friendship Is Magic series was new. Those Eurobeat versions were always cool in my book.

@TheJGG Nice, now I'm really hyped to see it! It seems that it's getting universal praise and honestly it even felt special just from watching the trailer which is a rare ocurrence for me. From what I heard a sequel is pretty much confirmed. I'm even tented to see the old one but perhaps I should just wait to see this one to feel more surprised.

@MarioLover92 Good to hear! What's your opinion on the Nintendo Direct? Specially about the upcoming Mario movie, I was really curious to ask you as soon as I saw about it haha.

@Snatcher I plan on watching it (Star Wars Visions). I’m not a massive Star Wars fan (I thought the main trilogy was good, didn’t like the prequels, never even tried the sequels... I also wasn’t gripped by Mandalorian or Clone Wars, but I might try them out again later) but Visions interested me since it was announced. The reviews for it are good, so I’ll probably check it out.

Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.

@Tyranexx The pleasure was all mine, that was a pretty fun one! I did leave the live chat after our exchange though; because I was worried I’d get spoiled, due to any potential gap between my viewing of it (cast to my television) and the stuff happening on the live chat. I’m very happy with how the Direct turned out overall, despite, like you, not having any new absolute must buys for now. I’m really excited to see how Kirby turns out, if I get it this time it’ll be my first Kirby title, so… hoping the first impression’s good! Disco Elysium… I’m going to really enjoy getting that one. I just did a quick search, the entire game’s only 6.5GB total, so I’m definitely getting digitally when it comes out in just over two weeks! And, as for Triangle Strategy, one of the worst-named games I’ve ever seen in my life, colour me interested again! Particularly [and admittedly only] because of the fact that the developers have now added multiple difficulty options. One of the turnoffs of Octopath Traveler for me was how grindy it was, which itself lead to having a relatively high difficulty as well as health sponges for boss fights.

My own thoughts of the Super Mario movie… I did laugh out loud when I saw the obituary-like portrait of all the voice talent, including Chris Pratt. He’s a fantastic actor, so I’m confident he’ll do a very good job. I find it silly to pass judgement over something that quickly, so I’m gonna wait until I’ve see the film in a cinema one year from now. I did have to wake up early to watch the show but not only was it worth it, getting up wasn’t even that hard, I was out of bed within five seconds of the alarm ringing! Dragged myself downstairs, wrapped a few blankets around myself, and watched the show with my laptop for the chat while I used it. Glad to hear that you enjoyed that one; my end thoughts are that although the absence of Breath of the Wild’s sequel’s a shame, seeing Bayonetta 3 for the first time proper almost made up for it. Honestly, based off the font for the subtitles I really thought it was a Xenoblade-related thing…

Speaking of cinema, I went to see Dune today! It was a pretty incredible film, with jaw-dropping scope and ambition. I’ve only watched one other film as long as this one, which clocked in at just over two and a half hours, that felt so short in the end. If you haven’t contemplated seeing it, I highly recommend doing so, though the film comes out on October 22nd in the US, which honestly is a right shame. Means sharing insight into the film risks diluting the experience for some, but yeah, that film was really… something else. Worth mentioning the entire score by Hans Zimmer was released onto YouTube last month, and I swear, this is probably his best soundtrack, and one of the best ever. Especially when listening through good old fashioned Dolby Atmos! The entire soundtrack’s an hour long but honestly that’s the best part, it’s this soundscape of haunting, epic, ambient moments.

I don’t think Ys VIII would have been a video game if it didn’t have a good opening, then fizzled for a bit, then picks up and has a fantastic conclusion. I’ve witnessed that kind of ebb and flow so many times when playing video games. Death Stranding (more on that in a bit) was one game that had this trend the most obviously, because it has a decent start, gets a bit slow around the 60-70% story mark, and has a pretty decent conclusion. Most times games that have clear structuring have a good flow of rising and falling action, like all of the Xenoblade games. I’ll wait to see the opening, I hope I can get Ys VIII in time. I’m hard up for money at the moment, there’s actually been games I’ve hoped to get since May that I haven’t been able to thanks to unexpected announcements and such. And as disconnected as games like Fire Emblem (and Ys therefore) are (making them accessible to newcomers), having clear ties to older games certainly helps.

I’ve ended up using my headphones a lot more because of studying. Having a dedicated music playlist for concentration is absolutely paramount in this time. It’s worked out pretty well, I’ve got some good music that somehow manages to increase workflow. I was worried I’d focus too much on the music and not what I’m doing, and while it’s happened a bit, it’s been rare thankfully. I initially shared the “wired” sentiment but using Bluetooth headphones means it’s going to be very difficult to come back, all those pesky wires brushing against my arm.

You can imagine my thought process as I went through everything… a mini heart attack followed by an inward sigh of relief. Hopefully you got a good night’s sleep despite the slight distraction from your somnic habits. My favourite part of Frontier Village is the music, it really carries forth the feeling of quaint and homely in a way that makes for decent listening. I’ll do my best when that time eventually comes. I wrote a little bit in Frontier Village itself the other day so I hope to continue the sojourn soon.

Everything you picked apart are the genuine games I hope to look into and get in that showcase. It was great to see so much new stuff unveiled, especially by studios with incredible reputations like Insomniac. I haven’t actually watched the Ember Lab Majora’s Mask short film, but I saw just how well it was animated and so it was really easy to see just why this game has the potential to succeed. It has so much charm from what I’ve seen, and the team’s background in animation will only serve them massively well.

Speaking of money talks, Death Stranding got a PS5 edition! It only cost £5, so an absolute bargain for me, it gave us some new tools to traverse the land, plus some new QoL features and better graphics. My favourite addition so far’s the widescreen mode, despite it being a console game you can set it to 21:9 aspect ratio, and it has a really cinematic feel now, especially when just walking. It’s weird because this game, and Ghost of Tsushima, I played this year for the first time already, so the incubation phase in terms of memories has been very recent.

And as for the Breath of the Wild DLC adventures, that sounds encouraging so far. Don’t be too bothered about the Trial of the Sword, I did the first one then forgot it existed. Master Mode is more fun to be honest, with the ramped up difficulty and stakes.

@Snatcher Oh no, it wasn't a cliffhanger. I wouldn't call it a spoiler but the protagonists walk away into the sunset through the desert as the final shot.. Hope you find the time to see it when it comes out next month, it is an absolutely amazing film that WILL be worth the wait.

The existence of the second film itself depends on if the first does well in the box office. So far in the last ten days (the film released Sep 17 in some European countries) it made half its budget back, which in pandemic terms is pretty darn good. So I think it'll happen for sure.

@Sunsy I think they changed the control stick a bit? Though I can't say for sure. I just don't want to have my left thumb hurt, lol.

@roy130390 I liked the recent Nintendo Direct. There's a lot of stuff that I think that many people would dig (myself, as well), and I'm pumped for that Kirby game. I can't say for sure about that Mario movie, as there's not even a trailer for it right now. But I will say that I was surprised that Chris Pratt is gonna do the voice for my boy Mario, rather than Charles Martinet. Then again, I'm not the most movie-savvy guy in the world - I'm sure that Pratt will do a fine job.

@Heavyarms55 I did at work and now I do at home. I honestly do not know how I managed to game before with only one monitor

All you need to know is if your new monitor has direct HDMI cable output and that is all

Now I game on one monitor and watch tv series/youtube on the other.

@Zuljaras Should've commented on that painting you did earlier. It looks really good, great job!
