I'll wait and see when Nintendo shows off how they're gonna sell the NSO expansion pass. I'm hoping they at least let me upgrade at a discount while I keep the time remaining for my family membership.

@Tyranexx Thanks! I'll let you know what I think when I get around to watching them. Those are all great songs that you've mentioned! They messed up Be Prepared, huh? That was such an awesome villain song from the animated original. We did have An Extremely Goofy Movie back then as well, I'm sure we still have it around somewhere. I pretty much forgot like 90% of the movie though. lol

I know, it's a really random choice, well the cast in general is, but I usually think comedy when it comes to Jack Black.

Oh, BTW, I thought of you today. I watched My Little Pony: A New Generation on Netflix, and two of the characters had a dance-off on a DDR-like game complete with dance mat, lol. Given you love DDR, it made me think of you.

@Tyranexx It may even be funnier to see him try to make Bowser sound like Bowser. The weird part is the movie is most likely CGI, sooo I'm picturing the Mario characters looking the same.

Thanks for agreeing. Understandable, I feel PC and old Nintendo got online right. Pay for the game, and have access to all of it. All NSO, Xbox Live, and PlayStation Plus does is lock features you already paid for when you bought the game behind a paywall. Will say, I do like how some older PC games use direct IP, instead of relying on a service. Because of that, I was playing Doom, as in the 1993 classic game, online with a friend earlier today.

From the looks of it, NSO just feels like a classic gaming service, with online multiplayer tacked on. I really feel if Nintendo made NSO into a classics games on demand service, and left multiplayer out of it, I think it would be better received.

As someone who plays Brawlhalla occasionally, I will say, I still amuses me a free-to-play game that doesn't require NSO, has next to no lag when compared to Smash Bros, which is laggy. I prefer Brawlhalla for occasional online fights because of it (and bought a TMNT skin since I like the game).

@MarioLover92 Yeah, I don't really see a reason to upgrade to the new tier. Maybe if they threw in GBA and the tier upgrade was cheap, and Sonic Advance was added, yeah I might consider it. The state it's in, I see no reason to upgrade it.

Will say, I did enjoy some of the lesser known SNES games on the service, like Magical Drop II and Psycho Dream. Getting games from other countries is honestly something positive I have to say about the service, I like discovering stuff I never played and end up liking them.

I honestly have zero problem with Chris Pratt voicing Mario, in fact the more I think about it the happier I become knowing Mario's voice is in his absolutely capable hands. The biggest indications that he's the man for the role; either Guardians of the Galaxy or The Lego Movie, two instances where he played what seemed at face value to be highly generic character stereotypes, but with much deeper complexion. He's also a very naturally funny person, able to do all kinds of comedy, from awkward and self-depreciating to the overconfident-but-insecure, and more.

To my surprise he hasn't been in many blockbuster films outside of those two examples. I'm really excited to see what he can do. Charles Martinet is absolutely fantastic, if not the epitome of videogame mascot voices, but I agree that hearing 100 minutes of his falsetto will get on peoples' nerves. @Anti-Matter I saw you posted a video about the evolution of Mario's voice, that made me realise that Chris absolutely has everything it takes to do it right. I actually liked Hotel Mario's voice, it was the right balance between Brooklyn "I'm walkin' over 'here" and... Mario-ness.

As for Bowser and Jack Black... I honestly could not have thought of a better combination! I actually asked my dad to guess who was playing Bowser and Jack Black was his second guess! It shows how much of a masterstroke that choice was; he's extremely funny, probably moreso than Chris Pratt!

Chris Pratt is less the issue as much as Hollywood and in this case, Illumination disregarding voice actors for any random, popular names. It's obnoxious and insulting to voice actors, who often are just better at the job than random regular actors. And also they don't make good movies, so I'm expecting very little.

That being said, Pratt was in the Lego movie doing voice acting before Marvel, and Jack Black practically is a voice actor as much as anything else, so they themselves are not the issue, And I also agree the Mario voice we know is not what I would want for a whole movie with dialogue. If anything, they're just a victim to how cynical this whole celebrity casting thing feels and how much of a self-parody it feels like. I could've made up this casting as a joke about nonsensical celebrity casting, and they're doing it as not a joke somehow.

Also tbh, one of the problems is that Mario is a very boring character much of the time. So any big name with a real personality attached to it is bewildering to even imagine how it will fit. While the other characters...mostly have characteristics that could be replicated by actors who are good at a thing.

I know it's an animated movie but for some reason I can't stop imagining Chris Pratt in overalls fighting against a poorly painted Jack Black with a spiked turtle shell on his back and it's awesome. I discovered him (Chris) when he appared in The OC having a minor role for a while before he got big and I really enjoyed whenever he appeared.

@Snatcher Good to hear! Hey, so you wanted Jack Black to play Bowser? I never thought about that, but then again I rarely think about video game movies castings haha. I do think about super hero movies and their proper castings in my opinon though.

So... Dune. I've seen the movie. It's done. @roy130390... Jesus Christ it was so good. Everything about this movie is an absolute masterstroke. The cinematography is top-notch, the music is next-level quality and the acting is amazing. Superlatives just don't do it justice, this movie is... just really good. The sheer scope and ambition of this movie is almost unparalleled, it feels like the beginning of a saga spanning decades. The movie's so... guttural, visceral and absolutely unafraid in its storytelling.

Seriously though, the score for this film... quite possibly the best film score I've heard in years.

@WoomyNNYes Yeah, I realised you won't be able to see it for another four weeks, sorry about that. Personally it was worth the 18-month wait, so another month'll mean you'll get to enjoy it more when it does arrive.

Going back and forth between Superstars (MP) and Nickelodeon... brr. Dont know which one I want to buy. Budget is a bit compact.

@Sunsy I could end up just sticking with my regular family plan for the time being, I pretty much just have 1 year left. I upgraded from individual to family at a discount when that came out, and I got another family plan as a gift. Would be really nice if the expansion pass was cheap, I can see myself playing the N64 games as much as the SNES games on Switch, at least. I'd love that N64 Switch controller too, but it's pretty expensive for what it is (it's $50) and I'm skeptical of how its control stick might wear off as easily as the originals did. That Genesis controller is - I'm not making this up - the same exact price as the N64 one, and it's just the regular 3-button variant. Are these guys mad???
