@Sunsy
"Has this happen to anyone else who played games on one system, then played it on another?"
I did. 😀
I double dipped for Portal Knights (PS4, Switch), Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles (Switch, PS4), LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER (Wii U, Switch, PS4)(Triple dipped), FF XII TZA (Switch, PS4), Dragon Quest Builders 2 (PS4, Switch), The Sims Bustin' Out (Gamecube, PS2), Skylanders Swap Force (Wii, PS3).
@WoomyNNYes Ahh i see. I read what some of em said, but outside of that, I still think I'm gonna hold off for now. I have plenty in me backlog still. Thanks for the linkage man !
First of all, I legit need that LEGO set. Though I'm wondering if my wallet will agree. Those plastic bricks tend to be somewhat expensive depending.
Thanks for the well wishes all! Finished mowing earlier than I thought, so I am interneting for a little bit. Not too long though; I'm pretty beat! I've finished most of my packing and just need to pack some morning essentials tomorrow. Not taking much to game with other than my OG 3DS and phone.
@tekoii Perhaps, though I could see an official Discord having to put up with some moderation challenges. I know private messaging is an often requested feature for the main site, but the site admin Anthony Dickens has been pretty adamant about not adding it as it could, among other things, lead to private abuse and would be hard to police.
Glad you find this place chill and friendly! Places like this on the internet aren't unheard of, but they're harder to find these days. Just don't doom scroll through some of the nastier comment sections on the main site. I've actually severely limited a lot of my social media, especially Facebook, because of the lack of netiquette.
PS - For future reference, I'm a female. I'm not offended by any means and am fine with some uses such as "dude" since I've been in settings where it was used in a gender-neutral fashion.
@MarioLover92 Coupons or discounts done through sites like Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, etc. Digital discounts are rare, but large retailers love moving their physical stock. WarioWare: Get It Together! feels a lot like other series entries, in a good way. That said, while I like the series, I have no problem with waiting a while before picking that one up.
Love that Mario frame! Very nice indeed, and it definitely hits the nostalgia button. You're forgiven for taking the photo at an angle; I would have done the same thing.
@BruceCM You called it! Cleared the game last night, true ending and all. All the ending text was a bit much to process and wrap my head around since it was after 11 PM in my time zone when I started rolling through the back half of the epilogue, but I think I have the gist of what happened. XD Theos De Endrogram was a bit of a pushover, but the true final boss....I'm very, VERY glad I stocked up on food and potions beforehand. The Origin of Life was a pain in phase one, and then it pulled the old "This isn't even my final form!" maneuver. Kinda expected it, but still...lol.
Overall, it was a really good game and ticked many of the right boxes: excellent gameplay, decent story, amazing character and world building, and some really good music tracks. The only slight letdown for me was how the plot weakened a bit during the first 1/3rd after the prologue, but after that it was all uphill. The true ending was...weird, bittersweet maybe. But I'm glad everything turned out well. I'd call it a slightly watered down Xenoblade Chronicles, but that's meant as a compliment; the latter sets the bar so high already.
@Anti-Matter Yes I've done that too. I was talking about playing a game on one system, then playing it another, but messing up controls because your mind is on the other system's controls while playing.
My example, playing Sonic Adventure on PC with a Logitech controller, but the GameCube or Dreamcast controller comes to mind while playing.
@Sunsy
Oh, here is my case.
I felt awkward to play Dragon Quest Builders 2 / Portal Knights Switch version after playing the PS4 version as the configuration for A and B button from Nintendo was opposite with Circle and X button from PlayStation. Also it happened to other buttons X Y and Square Triangle.
@Anti-Matter Yup something like that. I used a Logitech controller for Sonic Adventure, because I played it so much on Dreamcast and GameCube, the placement of the joystick throws me off. Also, it uses LB and RB to turn the camera, while Dreamcast used the analog triggers, so I kept pressing those for the camera.
Logitech's controller is similar to a PlayStation controller, except has ABXY buttons colored similarly to Xbox (as Xbox controllers work on PC). The Joysticks are on the bottom of the controller.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
Happens to me whenever I go between xbox and switch.
Also, after playing Skyward Sword, it took some time for my brain to get used to the fact that other games don't require me to hold the L button to activate the free camera.
@Tyranexx Ahh okay those points are certainly fair, especially on that one about private abuse. Coming from the site admin is pretty direct. I guess there's always many sides to things. Simple in the Complex. Complex in the Simple. Yea, everyone here has been super cool about everything Ohh and yea I've seen some scary comments here and there xD. Ah okay, you are female. I understand, I can refer to you properly (ex: she said this, she did that).
@Tyranexx I hope I'm not rude by saying this, But I was sure you were female but I wasn't to sure, cuz there was that one time I said dude and thanos said you are not male, But I wasn't sure if you were non bi or Female, I wanted to ask but I thought that might be rude and kinda prying a little bit, so I just said they, Glad I know now. I really hope I don't come off as rude.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

When I was little I had planned out a side-scrolling puzzle/quest game where you play as a skeleton that is looking for its place in the world devastated many years ago.
Like a post apocalyptic world where everything is dirty, dusty, abandoned and creepy. The skeleton does not know why it is "alive" but it wants to explore the creepy world. There would be no enemies only puzzles and interesting environments.
At the time I did not even own a PC (I spent many hours in those pc-cafes) Everything was drawn in a notebook with a pen.
Ahhhh good times!
its definitely an obsession.
funny you bring up games, i wanted to make a beat em up game with every character in the game from heroes to enemies skeletons. every charter a skeleton. and drop and pick up weapons galore. all kinda weapons. i can dream

@Tyranexx Wow… it’s been a very busy week. I needed it, especially after a very lazy few months off. Lots to share though. I’ve now become absolutely dominated by music lately. I can’t stop thinking about it. I read to it, write to it, and probably will end up gaming to it. Specifically two groups that’re completely up my alley yet took me this long to listen to for the first time of my own volition; The Avalanches, and CHVRCHES. Both have the kind of sound I would absolutely kill for; electronic, with great physical or digital percussion, solid bass, plus songs with great vocals, something that is just so hard to get right. Three songs I’d recommend… “Running Red Lights”, and “The Divine Chord” by the former and “How Not to Drown” by the latter. The first has some… really great vocals by Rivers Cuomo from Weezer, and the last one has a guest appearance by Robert Smith from The Cure. Art at its absolute finest, and the Avalanches’ album sounds like it could be played in a journey through space.
Before holiday I haven’t been on a plane in a year, almost, so the entire feeling was so new… because of how suppressed it was in my mind. My usual bank of entertainment on flights consists of either films, a music player (like a mobile phone), or my Switch. Or I could sleep, that’s all but guaranteed when I go aboard a night flight. Sometimes I’d listen to an audiobook, and accidentally miss three chapters because at some point I take a two hour nap. Ah well, unless it’s a novel as complex as Game of Thrones it didn’t cost me too much in the end.
I took the opportunity to work on it yesterday for an hour. Adding the necessary buildup towards Melia’s character reveal’s been fun so far, especially writing Alvis. For Alvis I didn’t deviate from his original lines yet but I have a good idea of how I could execute his voice. I ended up using the word “dryly” a fair bit actually, because that’s exactly what his voice sounds like. I think the difference with an original work and an adaptation is that you have a solid reference for landscape, character physical traits, voice, and more.
I realised giving too much detail will somewhat harm it but… ah well. It’s a fun ride so far and with a growing cast there’s lots to cover. Problem is I have a bit of a short memory so I almost forgot the whole process behind the “Shulk has no taste” scene. It was mostly about adding detail, thought and emotion to each scene instead of expanding on it, though making the dialogue more human is also a strong priority. I’m no expert on the characters at all but I may as well try to be. It’s been fun, especially to unwind.
To be honest I’ve spent so much time on my PS consoles lately that it’s been weird thinking about Nintendo. For the first time I really do feel like Sony have an upper hand, at least as of today, since there’s no knowing what the competition could reveal. I saw the PS5 showcase this morning and there’s some absolutely serious games coming in time; namely GT7, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War: Ragnarök (though I personally have little interest in it), a remake of Knights of the Old Republic, a remaster of Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy, a sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man, and so much more. I’m feeling excited for the next eighteen months, and I imagine people who have the console and have been waiting for new games will be satisfied.
I haven’t played Last of Us: Part II but I do think Ghost would deserve Game of the Year over that; though I don’t think the gap’s overwhelming, it may as well be between a coin flip. Naughty Dog had from my view a very brutal, gritty storytelling method, something that inevitably ticked off some fans. This doesn’t automatically make it bad, this isn’t about a happy ending from ND’s view. About telling a real story, more like. Having said that Ghost of Tsushima told a real story as well (two ways, it’s historically accurate plus it doesn’t feel fake), so… it’s up in the air. Do revisit Breath of the Wild in time, the DLC adds some pretty neat trials.
It’s a shame to delete games but even sillier is that whenever I have to download an update patch for some reason it demands I have 70-80GB free. Now that is just stupid. I really hope that… goes away because I was already at a limit with storage, at least at a point when it was fine. PS5’s discouraged me off buying physical games, because all of the games I have upgraded from PS4 are digital. Doesn’t matter in the end though, I’ll hopefully invest in a quality SSD to expand my storage with. I’ll be back after I stop being broke.
@Tyranexx I'd honestly love that SM64 Lego set too. And thanks! I had a hard time picking between that and the Super Mario World frame at Etsy, perhaps I could get the SMW one next time. I might end up getting Mario Party Superstars as a Christmas present too. I plan on getting and playing Metroid Dread when it comes out. I want to try and beat it since I beat the other 2D games, and I don't want to see MD spoiled for me. lol
@tekoii I'll likely be able to join in. I'm assuming you'll record your MK8D footage for your YouTube channel?
"Give yourself the gift of being joyfully you."
Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@MarioLover92 Nice, thanks for joining in I'm not gonna record it, I just want to kind of celebrate releasing another video for my channel. Try to hop on Steam so I can hyu before the tourny. Also, @Snatcher is gonna join in on the tourny too :3.
I mean everyone is welcome and I'm sure it'll be fun lol. blue shell says hello lol
