@WoomyNNYes Well you know the old saying; don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. I’d take whatever I could get during this difficult period.

Funnily I’M off to the beach on Thursday, except it’s a beach resort, and way more than a six hour drive away. Shame then, that I have some outstanding work to finish during this holiday….

@Link-Hero I didn't even see this absolute gem, that must have been absolutely hilarious! I hope you had a right laugh with your family, because that's something else. I'll say this though; congratulations on going sixteen months without encountering one of those people!

I admit that I do the exact same thing, even when it's only two people in a car. I've gotten very used to wearing a mask. I think; as long as this virus exists I'm wearing a mask.

@Link-Hero I've been in many incidents where something wasn't funny at the time but eventually became very amusing. Ah well, you're fortunate it took that long anyhow. People like that are painfully oblivious to stuff that should be right in front of you.

@Tyranexx Oh, that's interesting that you had to pay a high-ish price for it. Here in the UK most Professor Layton games are really cheap secondhand, probably because the series was so popular here in its heyday. (Then again, the Pokémon games on DS are incredibly expensive now so maybe popularity has nothing to do with it!) But yeah, looking on eBay now, US copies of Last Specter are certainly more expensive than UK ones. I might still get it one day if I find a good price.

Unfortunately, Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright is very pricey these days. That's the only Layton game I haven't played other than the mobile ones, and I really want to play it now that I'm into Ace Attorney. At least with 3DS games you can usually download them if they get too expensive to buy physically. There are a lot of DS games that I wish that option existed for.

Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music

@Tyranexx - Haha, yeah cooking hot peppers in any way usually brings out the heat. Hopefully you had some milk on hand, though that only helps slightly. You kinda just have to wait them out. I got myself in trouble with Thai chili peppers once, it’s bad when you get so spiced up that you get hiccups.

I’m the same way though, I like all other bell peppers, and most of the hot peppers I’ve had, I just don’t like green bell peppers. It’s not a matter of cooking them or pairing them with the right things, I just think they’re gross.

@ThanosReXXX - Nope, I just don’t like green bell peppers, plain and simple. There’s nothing you could pair them with where I’d enjoy them. They’d just ruin the thing they’re paired with. I feel the same about black licorice. It’s just vile stuff in my opinion.

@ogo79 - I loved that cartoon and toy line man! I’ve always been a big Toxie guy. I had quite a few of the figures as well. The details are amazing. That was at the tail end of my earnest toy collecting, but I had quite a few of them. Good stuff.

@ogo79 "never been called that before!"

Well, there's a first for everything, you rambling bag of bones...

@CactusMan 8 rolls and 7 cans a day? That sounds more like binging to me instead of savoring the good things in life. And I also meant the finer cuisine, so sausage rolls are off the menu.

@bimmy-lee So, what is it then? The bitter taste? Can't be the texture of them, otherwise you wouldn't like the other bell peppers either. But in all seriousness, what I said earlier does ring true. The average decent chef would acknowledge that. It is possible to "hide" any ingredient in a dish in such a way that you would not taste or notice that single ingredient, but it would still add to the overall completeness of how it tastes and smells.

I can take myself for example: I simply HATE olives, but when mixed with other ingredients and processed into a tapenade to be used as a spread on bread or meat, I really like it. Same goes for white asparagus: I hate it, but I do like the soup that they make from it, long as there aren't any asparagus chunks in there. And I could easily name another four or five examples.

I also know a lot of culinary tricks to make certain foods palatable for kids, such as Brussel sprouts.

As for black licorice: as I mentioned to @Tyranexx, it's neigh on impossible for people to dislike ALL black licorice, especially as there are SO many kinds, with thousands of different flavors. I strongly suspect that your dislike comes from the fact that, unless it's imported, there isn't a single good example of a tasty kind of licorice in the States. It's just not a licorice country, so to speak. The Netherlands is, and the variety and amount they have is simply mind-boggling, so there should always at least be one type that might positively surprise you.

P.S.

Solid sugar (cubes or crystal powder) is a far better heat killer than milk, for when you've eaten spicy things.

@ThanosReXXX - The thing I dislike about green bell peppers is the green bell pepper ness of green bell peppers. There’s absolutely no way to hide a green pepper from me. I can tell if something has been chopped on a board that previously had been used to chop green peppers. I can smell them as soon as I walk into the produce section of the grocery store. I just don’t like them. This isn’t some life experience thing where you know more about my opinions on taste than I do. Send me that average chef who can hide them from me and I’ll tell them they’re wrong.

So I decided to do something I've never really bothered with. I usually am pretty apathic about audio equipment. The kind of speakers or headphones you get in like the 30-60 dollar range is all I've ever used.

But I decided maybe I should finally try something a little nicer, to see if there is really any merit to the audiophiles out there always talking about their fancy toys. So I I decided I'd be willing to risk something in the 150 dollar range - 3 times what I spent on my previous "best" headphones. I got myself a pair of Sennheiser HD569s ...

AND I FREAKING LOVE THEM! I didn't even know headphones could sound this good! Like what is even going on! I'm sitting here listening to some of my favorite music and like, there's details I've never noticed before in songs I've heard 100 times! And they don't sacrifice bass or highs. Like, I don't even know how to properly describe it. There's a range of audio I feel like I didn't even know existed!

@Heavyarms55 - Good for you, nice headphones make a HUGE difference in sound quality, even with digital files. They can take the music from flat to round. I haven’t had a nice pair since I was a kid using my parent’s headphones on their receiver and turntable. I’m one of those home stereo nerds though.

You might want to ask Eel about something he mentioned last week, something about HD digital music. I haven’t had a chance to look it up yet, but sounds cool and it’d pair nice with your new cans. Do they work with your Switch? There are lots of games with amazing sound design. I can attest that Ape Out and Huntdown are both great, even with crappy headphones. Can’t imagine how nice they’d be with good speakers.

I’m hoping to have the majority (or all) of my responses out there within the next couple of days. I’ll let you guys know if that changes. I’m really sorry about the delayed responses, guys, I’ve just been busy (again). Things seem to be starting to (emphasis on the starting to) slow down for me, so hopefully, I’ll be able to get responses out sooner rather than later, but we’ll see.

In the meantime, I was going to leave you guys with a couple of things to think about, or look at.

The first thing is regarding the question game, except there’s a question I want to ask you guys. This technically is a two-part question, but they’re connected.

First, have you guys heard of the WarnerMedia-Discovery merger, and if so, what do you think of it?
I know it’s technically going to be called Warner Bros. Discovery if the merger happens, but I believe most people have heard of it as WarnerMedia-Discovery (or Discovery-WarnerMedia).

Second, I have an interesting Nintendo Life article that might explain why things have felt “different” around here recently.

Here’s the article: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2021/03/site_news_after_our...

Please give Ninjala a chance, guys. 🤔
As @Sunsy said,

Also, if I don't respond to your post within a day (or two), don't worry, I'm not ignoring you. I'm going to be busy, though I will do my best to respond in a timely fashion.

NintendoByNature

@SM3DASislit it's no problem. I can't remember what I said to you a while ago, but I forgive you! 😉. We all get busy, so no need to apologize!

@Tyranexx I mean, you are probably the most liked member in the community haha. One of the most active, and I've never seen you fight anyone 🤔.

About Digimon: it's the opposite with me, Digimon is my favourite franchise and Pokemon is a second close one. Love both deeply though and yeah, check out the Cyber Sleuth games when you have time.

@Tyranexx I haven’t properly watched Fusion, but I remember it airing when I was younger. I need to watch the reboot and the sequels to the original two seasons of the series.

What put me off about frontier is the humans becoming digimon. It just didn’t feel right, because tamers mastered the relationships between digimon and their tamers.

"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."

roy130390

@VoidofLight I agree. For me it's kinda absurd to remove what is probably the most popular thing about the show, which are these creatures that almost everyone would love having. By turning people into said creatures, it may give them more importance as they do the fighting but it removes the wholesome aspect of having your cute creature partner and said bonds. Sure, there are many Digimon surrounding them but it isn't the same.
