@Sunsy Oh that's cool! I have the first two that you mentioned and then some, just not the Yoshi one. I do have a Yoshi ornament where he has antlers though. I have a lot of Mario ornaments (in addition to the regular ones), lol. I have colored glass ornaments with pictures of Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi, one of Mario wearing a Santa hat where he's in a pipe (with colored lights, no less!), and another of Peach and Toad ice skating together.
@Vinny That's cool, thanks for sharing. Kinda surprising that it was found long after the Sonic 2 prototype was found, lol.

@theJGG
Hopefully, I'll should be able to be here in August, but we'll see. It would probably be better if we made a separate Tokyo Olympics Thread, so that way we're not flooding this thread with Tokyo Olympics (I wouldn't mind doing that, I just don't know if the mods and other users would like that, though). I'm hoping to watch as much of it as I can. I'm also hoping that SEGA does DLC (or even just an event) for Mario & Sonic Tokyo 2020 when the Tokyo Olympics start. Okay, I just wasn't if they were "rivals", as you see in sports a lot of the time. Yikes, I didn't realize Croatia has poor infrastructure and facilities. Are we talking Celsius or Fahrenheit when you say 45 degrees?
Hahaha, that's a good way to put it. I never thought of it like that before. I guess you say that if they wrestle at the start, then would be WWE: American Football Edition.
@Anti-Matter
TheJGG didn't post the exact same reply to me, we're just talking about the same thing as last time.
It is very similar, so I can see how you got confused. 🤔
Hope this clears things up.
Please give Ninjala a chance, guys. 🤔
As @Sunsy said,
Ninjala Gang FOR LIFE!
Also, if I don't respond to your post within a day (or two), don't worry, I'm not ignoring you. I'm going to be busy, though I will do my best to respond in a timely fashion.
@Eel Well, the Game & Watch was my final purchase of 2020 as well. At least: my final game-related purchase. I've finally had the opportunity to invest some time into trying it out, and I do have to say that I came away pleasantly surprised. The screen is wonderful. If the original GBA had such a screen fitted, it would probably have sold even more than it already has...
As for bull terriers: that was @Zuljaras mentioning the thing about it looking weird/alien. Besides, I didn't express any preference or liking for that specific race, I just made an astrology joke, because I'm both a Taurus and a Dog, according to Western and Asian astrology respectively, so the one thing that immediately came up in my mind, the first time that I heard of that, was "aha, so I'm a bull terrier, then". It was the logical conclusion to make.
Glad to hear you're okay. I've had a bad case of food poisoning myself once, and it definitely wasn't something I'd like to experience again, nor would I wish that upon somebody else...
So, you guys like pugs, huh? My sister has a Frenchie, more or less a similar breed, albeit slightly healthier and not so short of breath all the time.
@SM3DASislit To be honest, at age 50, combined with the amount of titles in my backlog (which contains literally hundreds of games spread across the N64, GameCube, Dreamcast, Wii, Wii U, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One S, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS/DS Lite, 3DS, Nintendo Switch and 3 mini consoles, namely NES, SNES and Sega Genesis), I have little hope of ever finishing it, but I'm fine with it. At least I'll have stuff to play for the rest of my life, or for as long as I still enjoy playing games, which might very well be til my last breath.
Back when I was in my twenties, I would have laughed SO hard if someone would have tried to make me believe that I'd still be gaming at my current age, and yet here we are, and I enjoy it just as much now, as I've ever done, or maybe even more so, out of appreciation of all that I've already experienced and/or witnessed, which started with a Pong game console on a portable black & white TV.
So, in short, game-wise, I'm set for life, and it even kind of serves as a backup measure against an all digital future, because even though I'm not dead set against digital, I do still prefer to really own my games and have them in physical form, so unless they aren't available otherwise, I'll leave digital alone in most cases. And I've already made up my mind that once the future does indeed become all-digital and all disposable, that this will be the moment that I will stop adding new consoles and/or handhelds to the collection, and then I'll just become a full-on retro gamer and will finally be able to devote all my time to start eating away at that stupendously massive backlog...
@ThanosReXXX Frenchies are very cute as well. When I see one on the street it makes me smile.
Btw I find it hilarious that you tell Anti to stop barraging you with useless information every time you mention something to him
I think he just reads the first sentence and then makes the wall of text of things he likes and you MUST know about that! It is your moral obligation in this world!
@ThanosReXXX
Btw, i want to ask.
Did you play Team Sonic Racing ?
From what i saw from Youtube, the thing that i saw very different than standard racing games was the three character profiles on screen that showing their current position.
What was that mean?
Will i still win the race if any of my team get 1st place ?
@Zuljaras Under normal circumstances or in general, that would only be hilarious if I would do the exact same, which obviously isn't the case.
Anyway, what I think is happening is simply that he cherry-picks instead of actually making an effort to understand what is actually being said.
It's kind of like you telling someone that the grass is very green, which should put the emphasis, and as such the focus of the rest of the discussion, on the color, but instead what you get in return is an elaborate explanation about all the different types of grass that exist.
Wrong emphasis...
@Anti-Matter I don't have that game, so I have no idea.
@Anti-Matter I have played Team Sonic Racing on PC/Steam and it's actually pretty good. I didn't think I would like it that much given how it's team-focused, but I took a chance on it and I enjoyed it. Obviously it's quite different from your typical kart racer - you're gonna want to make sure that you and both your teammates place well if you want to taste victory. You can help out your teammates by sending them items, too. There's an adventure mode that has normal races and challenges, as well. There's also online multiplayer, but I don't think many people are playing it online, sadly. (I did play a fair amount of people back when it was new.) For that, you probably want to stick with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I'd say if you can get Team Sonic Racing on sale, I'd recommend it. Not my favorite kart racer, but it's an underrated one. Plus it has awesome music - it's a Sonic game, after all.
@ThanosReXXX I ended up getting the Game & Watch as well. It's quite a cute novelty - my only issue is that the G&W version of SMB isn't on here, there's just the NES original. Always liked that retro charm of the old Game & Watch games too.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, bull terriers look kinda cute. It is sad to see dogs so completely transformed via hundreds to thousands of years of breeding. An x-ray of a Pugs skull makes you understanding that they get sick all of the time. I prefer bigger dogs though, labradors and that neck of the woods are my speed. Although Corgis are awesome, if there is one breed I would like to get, it would be a Corgi.
Wow, a one-day break, and my notifications are going crazy! XD Though I didn't properly get around to checking the site after that last post thanks to a full New Years Eve. I technically could have browsed the web while watching a movie, but it's often hard for me to do that and concentrate on what's happening on-screen. It was The Green Mile, if I haven't mentioned that already. I think I'll be splitting this into two posts since I have a lot of responses to work through lol.
I'm also still playing way too much BotW lol. 50 hours in, 45 shrines, 69 Korok seeds, and hoping to work on my second Divine Beast before long.
@theJGG Hey, no prob! Happy New Year to you and your family as well!
@BruceCM That's what I'm betting on: that Three Houses will enjoy more sales down the line. I definitely want it, but I have more than enough to play right now.
The main reason I don't have a Steam account is because I've heard the sales are notorious. XD
@SM3DASislit Yep, particularly those who have a ton of digital games piled up. XD I've heard Steam is especially terrible when it comes to sales. My current count is just under 30 games, but a little over 1/3 of that number meet or exceed roughly 50 hours of gameplay, according to HowLongToBeat. I'm back to my "one game a month" rule for awhile, though I do allow grabbing something on sale if it's short and significantly discounted. I also stick to a budget.
@Anti-Matter Some of what you listed is also part of my backlog lol. I still need to play Final Fantasy X/X-2 on the Switch (or at least X, we'll see how X-2 goes; I've read some like it, while others don't), as well as Final Fantasy IV on DS as well. Then I need to pick up the older FF entries off the eshop. I'm VERY behind on Final Fantasy, needless to say!
I've played Ever Oasis; it's a fun little action/adventure game by Grezzo, the studio responsible for the Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D remakes on 3DS. There are a few small flaws, but I do think further games in the franchise have potential if any are released. I consider it an underrated 3DS gem.
I can also recommend Golden Sun: Dark Dawn; it isn't as strong as the two GBA Golden Sun titles, but it's still a decent JRPG in its own right. Parts of its soundtrack are decent too.
Here's one of my favorites from the game:
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@MarioLover92 I doubt I'll completely work my way through my backlog, but I would like to make a huge dent. My goal is to not necessarily wipe it clean, but to drill down to where I only have a small handful of games (3-5) waiting in the wings. That way I can also comfortably replay something in my collection should the mood hit me.
On Three Houses: I suspect I'll fully experience the school/tutoring portion of the game my first time through, then let the game automatically do the legwork on subsequent playthroughs. XD From what I understand, there are actually four paths to work through? I intentionally don't know the specifics, but I've had that much disclosed to me lol.
@ThanosReXXX Happy New Year to you as well! Hopefully even Mad Titans take a load off and partake in some quiet NYE festivities? :
Child's play, huh? I'm curious at what your backlog looks like....
I did read a brief synopsis of Surviving Christmas after you mentioned it. On paper it does look decent, but in execution....Well, apparently the box office results and critic reviews speak volumes. XD I'll probably watch it at some point when there's absolutely nothing else to do.
@Sunsy Good call. Besides its original characters, it mainly incorporates characters from Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@MarioLover92 Amen to that. That was the main reason for me to get one: not the whole "oh, Mario is 35 years celebration" thing, but just personal youthful sentiment. I used to own several of these LCD handhelds, but stupid as young people can be, I never realized the value back then, so I haven't got any of them anymore.
So, for me, this is both kind of a trip down memory lane, as well as a bit of a "trying to get back part of what I lost" kinda thing. Not the same as being smart enough to keep the original LCD handhelds, but close enough...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@Tyranexx New Year's Eve festivities? Well, depending on what you mean by that, and considering the restrictions that we're currently under, there's only so much that even a Mad Titan can do...
EDIT:
Concerning my back log: just as mentioned in my previous comment to our new illustrious Chit-Chat member SM3DASislit, it's literally hundreds of titles across all the home consoles and handhelds that I own. Blame it on my principle of wanting/needing to buy titles that (in my opinion) belong to a certain platform. Simplest example: you just can't have a Nintendo console without a Zelda or a Mario game. To me, that's more or less like going to Paris and NOT seeing the Eiffel tower....
So, I just keep buying titles, most of the time only sampling them and then putting them in the collection, sometimes never to be seen again...
But I still feel the need to own them, and get them at an affordable price, so I buy them at the right time price-wise, but not necessarily "I've actually got the time to play them extensively"-wise.
Oh, well. At least I actually DO own them, so I can play them whenever I want, instead of having to hunt them down many years later, and for astronomical prices.
Concerning "Surviving Christmas": nail on the head right there. It absolutely is one of those in the category of "well, I've watched all the other Christmas movies and I've got nothing else to do for the next 90 minutes, so I might as well watch it" kinda movies. And definitely don't pay for it. Watch it if it's broadcasted on any of the channels that you already have, otherwise, it isn't worth the money. Christina Applegate or not...
@ThanosReXXX By "festivities", I was hinting at maybe a quiet little celebration with at least you, or with some close family. Though I don't know how strict the Netherlands is with their lockdown criteria right now. I hope you at least had a good drink to ring in the new year.
I get feeling the need to own certain heavy hitters on a system! Though I typically pick up games from franchises I'm familiar with and enjoy, or grab a game that reviewed decently and has other favorable online impressions. I do occasionally take a chance. Sometimes these pay off, like with A Short Hike and Ghost Trick.
I do occasionally share the "At least I have it" mentality. That's why I nearly picked up FE3H last month. But I decided it could wait a bit longer; I doubt its print run will be discontinued anytime soon.
@Anti-Matter I played it about a year ago IIRC; in terms of how long I'd owned it, it was my oldest backlogged game at the time. I picked it up for cheap from a clearance rack at a local store several years ago.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@WoomyNNYes I run too, but I can never imagine running in the winter. Every time I run when its too cold out I get a headache and this general unpleasant sensation.
I wonder how much of a difference those "thermal leggings" make compared to my long running pants. Maybe the long pants I have are thermal leggings, but I still feel like I can't run in anything below 45°F.
May I should start anyway, though. I'm against paying for something as expensive as a fitness club if I can manage to take fitness into my own hands, so i generally having nothing to do in the winter besides basic anaerobic stuff at home.
@Nicolai I don't want to over sell the leggings calling them "thermal", they're wind resistant leggings that have a mole-skin, fleece-like feel inside, which does help with warmth, but they don't feel thick like long johns, or look like fleece. They worked fine for 45+ degrees. As I said earlier, I put long johns under them for 20s-30s. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NJP8GXM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_...
I don't go to gyms either. I only went while it was super convenient at college.
@Tyranexx Yeah, I'm pretty much the same way, I tend to play games depending on what I'm up for. I don't like feeling obligated to finish, say, a 100-hour long RPG - I like RPGs for sure, though I've always been more of a platformer kind of guy. If I'm in the mood for an RPG I'll play one, lol. I got to the schooling part in like a few sessions.
@ThanosReXXX Yeah absolutely - and I'm a huge Mario and Nintendo fan anyway so it's a win-win situation, lol. I kind of want the other Game & Watches but last I knew, they were crazy expensive. I remember seeing a G&W version of Mario Bros. at my local game store for like $100. (Fun fact: Luigi made his debut in the G&W Mario Bros., not the arcade version!) But that's fine - I have a couple of the Game & Watch Gallery games downloaded on my 3DS, should I be in the mood for them.
@Anti-Matter All righty, have fun with it. Yeah the game runs at 60 FPS on the other platforms (including the PC version). Still looks nice on Switch though, despite the lower frame rate.
