@Eel So... I see you've been busy again: banned users, locked topics, removed topics.
And just as I was reading them and contemplating posting an answer...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@Heavyarms55 Yep! The Shiny Celebi research activated yesterday for me. I didn't play much yesterday, but I made it through the first set of tasks this evening. I got out for a little bit to play (in my car as it was dark and freezing) and ran across a Rufflet raid! I didn't have one yet, but man was I pleased to finally add it to my Pokedex!
I did see a blurb about the Shiny Mew event and was also disappointed that it's paywalled. Highly tempting, but I promised myself I wouldn't spend any actual money in the game and haven't broken that promise yet. XD
On playing with your buddy: you should be able to pet/rub your partner in the screen where you feed it berries, kind of like in Pokemon Amie and its successors in the main games. Unless you're doing the quick feed option; in that case, you'll need to activate the AR mode and properly cause your partner to appear in a flat, wide area first. You shouldn't have to pet it long, only until hearts appear.
@BruceCM I'm sure I'll run across one or more productive methods to destroying Guardians eventually!....Just not yet. XD
@MarioLover92 The level I described is themed around the "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" song. So there are a LOT of moving animals. XD I loved the game, but that was mainly because I love the movie. The Lion King is one of my favorite animated Disney movies.
I've never played Earthworm Jim, but I've heard plenty about it! Though your description makes it sound quite difficult lol.
@ThanosReXXX Ah, so the Stone Talus is just as susceptible to explosives as its smaller cousins I've run across. Thanks for the tip! I might give the explosives a try next time I run across one. Which if I recall, isn't too far from some of its smaller fellows in the current region I'm in. Same area as Hateno Village; I just made it there yesterday evening.
What's this? I missed a hoard of trolls? I'm not sure whether I'm relieved, or disappointed I missed the show....
@Tyranexx I'm probably gonna end up wavering back and forth on the Mew event right up until it starts. It will probably depend on how happy I am with the state of the game at that point. If I'm really happy, I might cave and buy in. But if I'm anything else, it probably wont happen.
Nice on the Rufflet. I did hatch one at one point but haven't done anything with it yet. Eventually it'll be a buddy and I'll be saving up rare candy for it, but there are other Pokemon I'm working on. Almost have enough candy for the other Meowstic, then Froakie comes next.
Speaking of cold, I always read about how temperatures are supposed to fluctuate wildly in desert regions but... I didn't realize that meant massive swings of 30-40 degrees (F) in a single day! I went for a walk this afternoon and it was upper 60s. Only a couple hours later I went back out to get the mail and it had already dropped like 20 degrees and tonight it'll be mid 30s. It messes with my head so much. It's like early fall during the day and winter at night. I don't know that I actually miss constant cold, and it still doesn't get even as cold as it did where I lived in Japan, here. And compared to where I grew up in Michigan, the night here is practically balmy for this time of year. It's not the cold, it's the swing in a single day.
Oh, and thanks for explaining the play thing. The kid actually figured it out shortly after I asked you. I felt kind of like an idiot. I didn't realize you needed to do it until the Pokemon reacts with its animation for it to count. So when I had tried that before, I thought that wasn't what it meant. XD
@JHDK@AnnoyingFrenzy Pulling that conversation off that article as it was unrelated to the topic at the article was about. It was my mistake for commenting like that there.
@JHDK Not at all, I'm not so petty as that. I love my parents dearly. But if you're gonna try and get me to claim America is a wonderful place, don't bother, because it's not. I'll not say more as it would violate the community rules on this site. It'd be true, but it would still be too harsh. And I'm going to stop talking about it here. We will never agree, so let's not waste each other's time further. This topic has also veered from what NL is about, and again, that was my fault for bringing up on this site. Not gonna apologize for my opinions, but I will apologize for the inappropriate time and place.
@AnnoyingFrenzy Thanks. Thankfully my mother is in good health. But she's in her 60s now. She could easily live another 30 years... but that's also kind of why I came back to the US, so that I could be ready to help her well in advance. I once worked in a nursing home as a temp job during college and if there is any solace in how my father went, it's that he never had to go to one of those places. If I have any way to enable it, my mother will pass away resting comfortably in her own bed in 30+ years. Not in a glorified storage facility for the dying!
(and sure, I could technically do that from abroad, but sending money back and organizing all of that from abroad is far far more difficult and expensive.)

@Heavyarms55 Completely understandable. I am familiar with nursing homes as well (though I have never worked there) and I too would prefer to keep my parents out of them as much as possible. While I do not share the same sentiment towards this country that you do, I can understand doing things that one doesn't necessarily want to do for one's family.
Edit: I have deleted my comments as well, if for little else then they no longer had any relevant meaning to that comment section
I've been buying all the comunity day passes, mostly because they're the equivalent of .5 dollars in my currency, so they're like a monthly tip for niantic from me
@Eel It's like 12 dollars I think. In USD at least. I assume it's regional equivalent or so for local currencies, but I don't know how PoGo handles that. My account is attached to the same Google account I've had for a very very long time now.
@AnnoyingFrenzy I don't want to give the impression that I hate America. I don't, I have a lot of very serious issues with it, and there are a lot of places that, if my life had played out differently, I would choose to live over America. But I know full well there are also plenty of places far far FAR worse off too.
And I know not every nursing home is going to be as bad as the one I worked at too. But they're all still generally the same concept, a place to store the elderly until they die. Some are a little less prison-like, but that's still what they are.
@Heavyarms55 I obviously can't speak for JHDK, who from the tone of his replies took great offense, but I never got the impression that you outright hated the US, just that, for whatever reason, you were dissatisfied with the quality of life enough that you longed for more elsewhere, which is a completely fine feeling to have in my opinion.
I got a shiny mew from wonder trade in Ultra Sun that is very obviously hacked, but I think I'd rather keep that.
Pokemon Go has this weird thing here in Mexico where anything that would be 1 dollar is sold for half that. For some reason it's only things that would cost one dollar, other price points are a bit more correct in their conversion.
(And yeah that means buying coins is much cheaper if you buy them in packs of 100, since any other pack results in a net loss for you, even though it's supposed to be cheaper to buy in bulk)
That guy was so rude to Eel he works really hard to be nice to everyone but since the one guy he dosn't like dosn't get banned he want to lash it out on him maybe he should look at the rules.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@Eel Well, I can understand the one you locked, based upon the weird title. Wonder what that was all about, but the one topic about asking for, shall we say gender-inclusive games, didn't seem all that strange or rule-breaking to me. If anything, I'd sooner call that person either lazy or kinda near-sighted, because there's plenty on offer, in that regard...
@Tyranexx No, no. Nothing to do with trolls, just Eel being quite proactive shutting possibly shady threads down, although personally, I didn't see that much harm in them, as explained in the first part of my comment.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThanosReXXX "the one topic about asking for, shall we say gender-inclusive games"
Really? What does that even mean?
