@WoomyNNYes Been trying to lose some surplus weight myself, of late. I've replaced all solid sugar in my house with liquid sweetener and honey, and that has helped me to lose around 6 kilos, but ultimately, it slowly started to level off, and now my weight isn't going up or down anymore, no matter how healthy I eat, so I have to start working out again, but currently I don't have the energy to do it at home, because we're having a heat wave, so I'm living in an oven right now, and the gyms over here are still under strict regulations due to the whole COVID situation, and besides: having just started a new job, I don't really have the financial reserves for gym memberships and other stuff that I don't really need yet, so for the time being, any luxury items or services are going to have to take a back seat.

@ogo79 "dang, i want to eat all of them"

Always with the over-exaggerations and superlatives, always...

@BabyYoshi12 Maybe healthy wasn't exactly the right kind of word to use in regards to ice cream, but it's an undeniable truth that freshly made ice cream with all natural ingredients is a heck of a lot better than the artificially colored and flavored alternatives.

So, even though neither of them may really offer any significant nutritious value, it's definitely true that where one is a sugar bomb who's additional ingredients are potentially harmful for both your kidneys and your liver, the other one is simply a completely harmless and delicious snack, so it's the better choice in that regard, no matter which way you look at it.

@Tyranexx Ah, so you like some frozen treats, but not really a fan of soft serve, huh?
Well, you never had traditional Dutch ice cream, then. Personally, I don't know of a single soul that doesn't like it.
I remember having mentioned it before a couple of months ago, but just in case that you weren't in on that particular discussion: in the city center here, there's a traditional bakery/pastry shop that has also been making their own special ice cream ever since before WWII, and the recipe has always remained the same.

It's simply hand-made vanilla ice cream combined with sweetened whipped cream (I specifically mention the "sweetened" part, because there are plenty of countries around the world where the whipped cream doesn't contain any sugar or sweetener at all) and it is friggin' delicious.

They serve it in all kinds of shapes and forms, such as cups, horns and between waffles. I usually just take a large cone, or when I'm particularly voracious, I'll simply take a cup with double scoops...

They're quite famous, and they're even on trip advisor:

P.S.

Don't mind the small handful of negative idiots in the reviews: they have no idea whatsoever what they're talking about. I've been a regular there for all of my life, and I don't recognize any of the things they mention at ALL.

@ThanosReXXX You might've misread my post. I absolutely love most ice cream, it's shaved or crushed ice that I'm not fond of. Homemade is definitely the best though; I just had some made from scratch vanilla (with a brownie) at a small gathering this past weekend. I don't often buy ice cream tubs at the store (because we all know what would happen if it was sitting in my fridge ), so I mostly just buy it as a treat from a restaurant or drive-thru every now and again. Unfortunately, the ice cream made from commercial mixes is a lot easier to find around here.

If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I'll definitely look that place up. Well-kept secret indeed.

@Blackbird789 I’ve honestly only heard of two, but between CDi and Virtual Boy, I chose CDi.

I want a Virtual Boy, I just don’t want to pay for it.

Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.

@BruceCM I have recently learned the streets are named such because they all used to be one connected road. But after years of construction they have been rebuilt and relocated several times... and no one bothered to change the name.

And apparently that's normal?

It probably is quite common, @Heavyarms55 .... It was named after someone, too, then? Anyway, glad everything's going well

Here in Indonesia, some of the street named by Indonesia heroes such as Tjokroaminoto (my home address ), Kartini, Imam Bonjol, Diponegoro, Ahmad Yani, etc.

@Tyranexx Ah, I guess I definitely did misread your comment, then. My bad, ma'am...

@Heavyarms55 Ah, so that's quite different to the situation I have over here, so I get the point now. How it is here is that you have a street with a certain name, and that street goes to a square that has the same name, and then there might be an alleyway or a canal near there with the same name as well, and that is quite common over here.

@Blackbird789 What the heck is a Hyperscan? Either way, I chose the Virtual Boy, obviously...

"The HyperScan is a home video game console from the toy company Mattel. It uses radio frequency identification (RFID)[1] along with traditional video game technology. The included game was rated "T" (Teen, not suitable for under age 13) and the remaining titles were rated "E10+" (not suitable for under age 10) by the ESRB. The console used UDF format CD-ROMs. The HyperScan has two controller ports, as well as a 13.56 MHz RFID scanner that reads and writes to the "cards" which, in turn, activate features in and save data from the game. Players are able to enhance the abilities of their characters by scanning cards. Games retailed for $19.99 and the console itself for $69.99 at launch, but at the end of its very short lifespan, prices of the system were down to $9.99, the games $1.99, and booster packs $0.99.

The system was sold in two varieties: a cube and a 2-player value pack. The cube box version was the version sold in stores. It included the system, controller, an X-Men game disc, and 6 X-Men cards. Two-player value packs were sold online (but may have been liquidated in stores) and included an extra controller and 12 additional X-Men cards.[2]

The system was discontinued in 2007 due to poor console, game, and card pack sales.[3] It is featured as one of the ten worst systems ever by PC World magazine.[4]

The HyperScan's RFID systems were provided by Innovision Research and Technology plc, a fabless semiconductor design house based in the UK which specializes in RFID systems and chip design.[5]

The games for the system were sold as $20 "Game Packs", which consisted of a game disc accompanied by six game cards (seven for Spider-Man). Additional cards which contained characters, abilities, moves and levels when scanned were part of a six-card "Booster Pack", available for $10/pack. As with most trading card packs, the cards were randomized, meaning a player looking for a certain card to unlock that element of the game may have had to buy multiple Booster Packs in order to get it (while getting multiple cards for another aspect of the game), or trade it for another with a friend, as was likely intended by the Hyperscan's card aspect.

Multiple booster packs were intended for certain games, with X-Men intending to have 102 cards to unlock parts of the game, according to its instruction manual, in separate "red" and "black" series; the latter went unreleased due to the console's cancellation, effectively leaving half the game locked behind a paywall which, barring some kind of hack which would unlock the entire game, can never be lifted.

There were only 5 titles known to have been released, with 2 canceled games."

Pardon me everyone while I bro out, with workout talk 🤪
@ThanosReXXX After winter and covid, it took me at least three weeks of workouts before my weight started going back down. I guess it took that long because, that's how long it took for the muscles to get lean enough to start burning more calories daily to start bringing wight down. You don't have to do the workout I did, but in case it gets you started, or gives you a target, these are what I did.

I did 8 min abs every day for a week, then every other day for a week, then 2-3 times a week. And I ran/jogged for a mile daily for a week, then every other day. Once the weight started coming back down, I only did these things 2-3 times a week to maintain the muscles. (Yeah, I only ran a 1-1.5 miles. I don't like running.)

You don't have to like these, but I've always come back to these ab workouts. It can be hard to do all the reps they do for a couple exercises (especially for level 2), but I just did what I could - still effective. (Man I hate the Leg Up Touch Crunch. Hate them, haha) I'd also hold a side plank as long as I could afterward. One plank for left, another for right side.

With all of the stuff everyone has been peddling, I feel it's actually less dangerous to go alone than it is to take all of this.
