@Blackbird789 What the heck is a Hyperscan? Either way, I chose the Virtual Boy, obviously...

"The HyperScan is a home video game console from the toy company Mattel. It uses radio frequency identification (RFID)[1] along with traditional video game technology. The included game was rated "T" (Teen, not suitable for under age 13) and the remaining titles were rated "E10+" (not suitable for under age 10) by the ESRB. The console used UDF format CD-ROMs. The HyperScan has two controller ports, as well as a 13.56 MHz RFID scanner that reads and writes to the "cards" which, in turn, activate features in and save data from the game. Players are able to enhance the abilities of their characters by scanning cards. Games retailed for $19.99 and the console itself for $69.99 at launch, but at the end of its very short lifespan, prices of the system were down to $9.99, the games $1.99, and booster packs $0.99.

The system was sold in two varieties: a cube and a 2-player value pack. The cube box version was the version sold in stores. It included the system, controller, an X-Men game disc, and 6 X-Men cards. Two-player value packs were sold online (but may have been liquidated in stores) and included an extra controller and 12 additional X-Men cards.[2]

The system was discontinued in 2007 due to poor console, game, and card pack sales.[3] It is featured as one of the ten worst systems ever by PC World magazine.[4]

The HyperScan's RFID systems were provided by Innovision Research and Technology plc, a fabless semiconductor design house based in the UK which specializes in RFID systems and chip design.[5]

The games for the system were sold as $20 "Game Packs", which consisted of a game disc accompanied by six game cards (seven for Spider-Man). Additional cards which contained characters, abilities, moves and levels when scanned were part of a six-card "Booster Pack", available for $10/pack. As with most trading card packs, the cards were randomized, meaning a player looking for a certain card to unlock that element of the game may have had to buy multiple Booster Packs in order to get it (while getting multiple cards for another aspect of the game), or trade it for another with a friend, as was likely intended by the Hyperscan's card aspect.

Multiple booster packs were intended for certain games, with X-Men intending to have 102 cards to unlock parts of the game, according to its instruction manual, in separate "red" and "black" series; the latter went unreleased due to the console's cancellation, effectively leaving half the game locked behind a paywall which, barring some kind of hack which would unlock the entire game, can never be lifted.

There were only 5 titles known to have been released, with 2 canceled games."
Lols, I somehow missed that when I was young ..... @ThanosReXXX

I’ve changed my mine. Don’t take any of these.

Heigh Ho Heigh Ho. It’s off to work (from home) I go.

Pardon me everyone while I bro out, with workout talk 🤪
@ThanosReXXX After winter and covid, it took me at least three weeks of workouts before my weight started going back down. I guess it took that long because, that's how long it took for the muscles to get lean enough to start burning more calories daily to start bringing wight down. You don't have to do the workout I did, but in case it gets you started, or gives you a target, these are what I did.

I did 8 min abs every day for a week, then every other day for a week, then 2-3 times a week. And I ran/jogged for a mile daily for a week, then every other day. Once the weight started coming back down, I only did these things 2-3 times a week to maintain the muscles. (Yeah, I only ran a 1-1.5 miles. I don't like running.)

You don't have to like these, but I've always come back to these ab workouts. It can be hard to do all the reps they do for a couple exercises (especially for level 2), but I just did what I could - still effective. (Man I hate the Leg Up Touch Crunch. Hate them, haha) I'd also hold a side plank as long as I could afterward. One plank for left, another for right side.

With all of the stuff everyone has been peddling, I feel it's actually less dangerous to go alone than it is to take all of this.

@BruceCM Aha, I see. Thanks for answering my question, "Blackbird789"...

@BabyYoshi12 What the heck is that blue abomination supposed to be? A bowling ball controller?
Are any of these controllers actually real? The gun looks real enough, but for now, I'm assuming they're all concept art or Photo Shopped images.

@WoomyNNYes Well, I definitely hate running as well. I tried doing the whole "round the park" stuff for a while, but it never really gelled with me, so I started doing passive training in the gym instead, so just exercises on the spot and weights and stuff. And some martial arts sparring and training.

Have to get back to that again at some point soon. I don't mind the ab exercises at all, so I'll save the videos for later, but as mentioned, we're in a heat wave right now, so for the moment, I'll be doing nothing, until I can shake my body out of this overheated, lethargic sloth mode.

@NEStalgia Well, always better than train-hugging hermit couch potatoes with closet-sized kitchens...

All kidding aside, how've you been, by the way? Is it hot in the States as well? Currently, I'm "enjoying" a now almost 6 day run of daily temperature averages of around 90°F, and apparently, that's going to last until Thursday, when that stretch of hot days will finally be interrupted by thunder, lightning and rain. Supposedly going to cool down to slightly more palatable temperatures, but I'll believe that when I see it...

@ThanosReXXX We've been doing hot and humid punctuated by prolific flooding and "every day has probably rain/thunder". It's funny comparing AccuWeather to the government weather service. Accuweather lists every day as "a thunder storm around" and then as the time gets closer to it they just wall the hourly with non-stop downpours. It doesn't count if you didn't call it until you saw it. Then you look at the government and they just forecast the same thing every day "showers likely between this time, then showers probable between that time, then chance of showers." every day. It also doesn't count if you just always forecast rain in varying percentage likelihood for every hour of every day, so that whenever it happens you can just say "we said it might happen." That's not forecasting, it's stating the obvious. I have no more information after reading the forecast than "tomorrow might or might not rain at any time of the day" . Based on that standard I can predict the weather for July 14, 2038 at 4:00PM just as well as them: "Mixed sun and clouds, rain and a thunderstorm possible. Hot, humid, breezy .01" rain, except more in thunderstorms." There....can I get a six-figure government job with full pension now?

I'm the only person without air conditioning though, so nobody else notices the heat, they're sitting at 70F all day every day, all year long.

The blue ball one is the Dragon Quest XI Special Edition controller, so that is real, @ThanosReXXX.... I can probably find a link to prove that if you want but I imagine you don't really want one

@BruceCM Indeed I don't. I was just wondering. What gave away me not wanting it? The usage of the word "abomination"?

@NEStalgia I'm actually almost at the point where I'm about to exhaustedly exclaim that I'd kill for some cooling rain showers...

Haven't got any air-conditioning either: just a standing fan with three different settings, which is now blowing warm air into my back on the highest setting, while I'm at my computer desk typing this comment...

NintendoByNature

I still need to play DQ11s. Waiting for a good discount though.

NintendoByNature

ThanosReXXX

@NintendoByNature You could always start with the demo, which contains the first 10 hours of the game. If you play that, you can take your save game with you to the full game. So, basically the entire first chapter for free, it's kind of a no-brainer. Assuming you haven't already played it, obviously...
