@Octane Well, YouTube is like that for me sometimes: just wanting to find a certain music video, a let's play or a movie trailer, and then getting lost in the swamp of that column on the right, with videos that say "recommended for you", which might result in me watching YouTube for the entire evening, instead of just watching that video that I was actually looking for...
And although there should be some logic to the whole recommended video thing, sometimes it just REALLY makes no sense whatsoever.
Example: the other week, I was looking for a game review for Wii Sports Resort, an Xbox One/PS4 comparison video of Dishonored 2, and a Daft Punk music video.
Now, I don't know what weird kind of voodoo magic algorithm YouTube is using, but that small list of videos resulted in me getting a recommended video that featured an outtake from Fear Factor, which is apparently a YouTube-only series, called "Fear Factor Moments".
I wouldn't want to damage your brain, taste or eyesight, but if you feel adequately warned, and it still hasn't deterred you, then I'd say, go to YouTube, and search for Fear Factor Moments, in combination with the word "donkey". Can't go any further than that here, I suppose, and I'm most certainly NOT going to post the actual video here.
And if you've watched that video, I would be highly curious as to how you think how the hell THAT could become a recommended video after Wii Sports Resort, Dishonored 2, and Daft Punk...
I can honestly say that once again, YouTube had completely blown my brain and baffled me, with its weird logic, and most certainly also with how the hell that video somehow passed the censor bar...
Weird and disgusting as it was, I actually did learn something from it, about the other gender, so to speak. You'll understand that one after having watched it. Suffice to say that it has to do something with women and lying/being in denial...
@ThanosReXXX YouTube's recommended section makes no sense, I started watching gameplay videos of the new Taiko No Tatsujin today and eventually they were only recommending interviews with Aubrey Plaza. I didn't even know who she was!
I also get random makeup tutorials show up for no reason, I think they just show you anything. They should be more careful with it though, I've has too many games and movies spoiled by random YouTube suggestions...
@Kimyonaakuma Yeah, that's so very true: comment sections on YouTube are horrendous sometimes. People swearing and calling other people the foulest things or wishing them dead or whatever. It still shocks me, sometimes. I have rarely experienced my mood changing for the better after having read them, so nowadays, I mostly just watch the videos, and stay the hell away from those comments sections...
