@YummyHappyPills by the way, before my computer restarts and I'm screwed, it's not just me. Look up Windows 10 Creators Update and internet problems. The update literally screws you up and there's nothing that can be done. (for me anyways)

Welp, it updated, as expected internet does not work at all....not even able to go into the settings and look at it. It just freezes up completely...at least they still give you the option to go back to the old version. But....don't tell me I have to do this EVERY, SINGLE, TIME the stupid computer has to update. It's a major waste of time.

Maybe you could upgrade the computer.

It costs money...not much I can do right now. lol

@Meowpheel I gave Crystal some thought. What I may do is give the Odd Egg a shot first, then go get Tyrogue, explore Mt Mortar in doing so, and any other areas we haven't gone to. In doing so, I can slap the EXP Share on it and just let it accumulate EXP as we clear the League and Kanto until its caught up.

Yeah it should be strong enough to join the battles eventually.

Just remember: with the odd egg, if it's not shiny, it's trash.

I dont know which to evolve it into but...hey we will see.

@Meowpheel How big is the difference between 0 or 10 IVs? Not a whole lot I think. For in-game purposes, IVs don't really matter.

@Octane Play Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and youll see the damn difference between even 25 and 31 IVs.

That game looooves having you battle EVERYONE who has tutor/egg moves, max stats and EV training...when all you have is what the game gives you.

Let's take a Pikachu for instance, and it's Attack stat.

It's base attack stat is 55.

Let's assume it has a neutral nature.

With no EVs and no IVs (0 and 0) at Level 25, Pikachu will have an Attack stat of 32.

If we give just 10 IVs in Attack, the stat goes up to 35.

Now here is the thing, its impossible to not gain EVs, therefore lets give it 100 EVs in Attack, and see what its stat will be with 0 IVs and 10 IVs.

0 IVs/0 EVs - 32
10 IVs/0 EVs - 35
0IVs/100 EVs - 38
10 IVs/100 EVs - 41

Now to compound this, lets keep it at Lv25, and give it Max EVs, no IVs.

0 IVs/252 EVs - 48
31 IVs/0 EVs - 40
10 IVs/252 EVs - 50
31 IVs/252 EVs - 56

And if we do 31 IVs/252 EVs with a +Attack nature - 61

It makes a considerable difference.

In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon you will come across things outspeeding you that by their base stat totals really shouldn't, due to IVs and EVs, and further, taking hits you wouldn't think they could, and dealing a lot more damage.

IVs do make a difference, you just wont feel it, until you are on the receiving end.

I never play online with Pokemon anyways....too many cheaters or whatever.

You know one time I went online with a decent team, I fought against some guy with baby Pokemon that one-shotted my whole team.

@Joeynator3000 What moves did he use? That doesn't have to be cheating, there are a few clever strategies that can wipe an entire team away if you're not prepared.

Better question is what Pokemon was it? An Eviolite Happiny will be tanking special hits like almost nothing else, but it cant really hit hard back. I could imagine Magby or Elekid maybe doing some work.

Baby Pokemon are historically weak though. Though I'd love to see someone go to VGC with a Smoochum.

I can't remember the moves, I think one of the Pokes was....Aron?
It also went first, too....and I usually go for fast Pokemon.

Sounds like the F.E.A.R. strategy.

It's valid, and can catch people out of guard easily.

@Joeynator3000 That's a Basic Pokemon, not a Baby Pokemon. Different classifications as it happens.

But yeah, F.E.A.R. Focus Sash/Sturdy, Endeavour, Priority Move, Recycle, rinse and repeat.

Easily broken though, status moves exist.

I never bother checking IVs for an in game team. Online is a different matter, but I've not done much online battling from Moon onwards.

Endeavor wasn't used, it's was one attack that took me out in one turn, though.
By baby I just meant the first evolution of a Pokemon that has multiple evolutions or whatever. >.< lol
