Well any group that directly targets corporations (and as a result the end-users) with cyberattacks should be considered terrorists. The whole incident with PSN pretty much solidified this point. Stealing credit card info is considered fun and games to these guys? These "Anonymous" guys should be hunted down by all major law-enforcement agencies.
too bad their Anonymous.
As much as i detest the PSN hacks can't say sony didn't have it coming.
If the FBI can track their IP address, they can find these guys.
Not everything is so simple. How do you think lulzsec escaped for awhile?
Aren't they all part of the same group?
Off-shots of the same group. Anon attacks people in the wrong like (SOPA,sony, and facebook)
Luzsec is just the 4-chan in it for the fun group that doesn't care about ruining people's lives.
WAT!

Anonymous aren't responsible for any of those "attacks". Their nature makes people think they had something to do with it, and they let the rumors float around as it gives them a fake aura of power.

These guys have attacked the government before and got away with it. zits a global Organization and can be anywhere..
Members of Anonymous got abducted and almost killed?
Anon Got files on the Zeta Gang and threatened to Release info on all the government officials the take. Anyone know with Common sense knows you don't **** with the Zeta's as they have more money than most governments and have no problem with killing or Beheading people to send a message. So some guy ended up getting taken by them and Beat real bad. It wasn't known if he was a member of Mexican Anon but they backed off and he was let go.

If you really think there is any good reason for cyber-attacking a corporation then I don't know what to say. Consumers are indirectly affected by these cyberattacks, like when those hackers attacked PSN and stole all that personal data and info.

It doesn't matter if they are responsible or not. The fact that these hackers are getting credit for it means they are getting free publicity.

Never said it was right just that it was the natural progression. What happened to Geohot and Sony's inability to properly patch their online servers is what allowed for this too happen. They brought it down and put it back up with all the same holes and they got took for a ride because of that.
That's also why I was happy to pay for xbox live but that's a story for another time.

I see weak evidence, more weak evidence and more empty threats, respectively. I've only looked into the first source (as the most solid-looking one), and the message posted signed Anonymous isn't necessarily proofed as the one responsible for the hacking - one day there's a security breach for some company, the next some kid posted "we hacked u we is anonymous fear us huehueh, kitties XD XD" on an unrelated site.

But there aren't any hackers getting credit for it, because there aren't any hackers.

Sony charges for PlayStation Plus the same way Microsoft charges for Xbox Live, yet you never hear about Xbox Live getting hacked. It's almost like anything Sony does is automatically bad. And this whole thing was started by that GeoHot tool? All this drama between Sony and these hackers has been blown way out of proportion. Both sides just need to stop this nonsense, it's getting way out of hand.
"Oh no, Sony took away my precious "Other OS" feature! Waaaaaah!!!"

not sure if you know how Anon works.
You realize that they aren't a group in the Traditional Sense but represent an Avatar similar to Guy Fawkes. The whole point is to use the internet depending to create Anarchy for either right or wrong but Giving the Offender a shield too hide behind.

You never hear about Mircosoft getting hacked or going down because Before online gaming Server side stuffwas one of their main sources of revenue. I pay knowing that piece of mind that a company who has been doing this stuff for a while is in charge. That and not holding server side stuff to a third party like Sony once did.
Also Geohot is the man. Sony knew the deal when they allowed Linux to be installed on the PS3 and knew that their would be a vocal minority when they removed it. Its not his fault he found they had an unprotected key-logger. He even tried to contact them and help them but they sued him and they got shut down.
it's one of the reasons i don't buy sony products now. Though I have to admit the new Sony Walkman MP3 player is catching my eye.

Deleted that last part as not to get Banned.
It is not a shield for the hackers to hide behind, it's an excuse to not do anything but pretend that they are. Their anonymity means that they can create any illusion they wish with no actual evidence or product, much like one could when posting under an anonymous alias on the site of their origin.
Regardless of everyone's varying opinions of Anonymous, I'll wait and see what happens on the 3rd. If something happens, I'll know who to blame. If not, empty threats.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.

^ this. I was somewhat impressed with the outcome of the Scientology event, until I realized it didn't have much impact and the participants were just there to piss about and reinforce the "teenagers that think they're edgy" image some people have of them.

I'm guessing you support the supposed "causes" that these hackers profess?
Hey guys I guess the PSN outage never really happened. It was all just a myth and us not being able to connect was just our terrible internet connections. Man do I feel kerschtupid.
Or at least that's what I got from dan561.

He's not saying the hack never happened, he's just claiming that Anonymous is getting unfairly blamed for the incident.

This. They're not responsible for anything, people just think they are and they don't deny credit for it, so they can feel "cool and edgy" (and pretend that the imaginary hackers among their ranks - the ones that don't exist - were responsible).
