I have a lot of trouble going back to the old gens now, without the running shoes inside it is so so slow. Not even the bike can pick the speed up to a tolerable level! It is probably my only major complaint with the series!
Love the series, one of my first GB games. Haven't bought one since Gold as they've never caught my eye, it just never seemed to do anything different. I just never saw them as something I had to get. Having said that, I do quite want HeartGold, and Black/White seem to be changing it up a bit at least.
One game where you don't have a choice of character out of five generations which was a remake of the original game which never had a choice of characters.
And for that it deserves a 2/5?
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

You're missing the reference here (G4 review of Other M), she's being sarcastic.
OT: I'm really looking forward to Black and White as I believe they'll be doing what Ruby/Sapphire were intended to do which is being a quasi reboot.
I've been playing the Japanese Black Version for the past few days, and it still is extremely addictive. I think it has gotten really stale over the years, though. There doesn't seem to be much new stuff in there and the new Pokémon just don't have the charisma of those in the early years of Pokémon. Apart from slightly improved 3D effects and animated battle (finally!!!) there is no technological improvement over HeartGold/SoulSilver. I've been playing these games for a decade now, but it's still essentially the same. But I just can't seem to skip any Pokémon game. It's too damn fun, addictive and very, very deep. The gameplay still stands very strong with one of the best, if not the best battle system in classic RPG history. I just wish there was more to set it apart from previous games. I would have preferred to wait a little longer and have them make Black/White as a 3DS game.
I love the Pokemon games! They are easy enough for younger players to get into, and provide hours of entertainment. I also love seeing the look on people's faces when my Wigglytuff obliterates them!

Er, no. The battle system is bland and out-dated. The game's only real appeal is having like 500 unique characters which you can use to fight. Gotta catch 'em all!
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
After revisiting this from an older age, I've got to admit, it was just the burnt out sensation that kept me from playing, recently I re-bought Red and Silver and I've been enjoying them quite a bit. Since Gamestop is putting GBA games Buy 2 Get 2 Free, I' m going to try and buy some of them again. I blame Nostalgia for my rediscoverance of the series.
Went through a pokemon-hatin' faze and then decided to revisit it with black
More or less what happened to me. But my question is should I buy the new ones like Black and White/SoulSilver andHeartGold, or go back to the GBA ones, I'm leaning towards GBA as Gamestop has cut off trading in for GBA games and I want to get them while I can.
It's not a question between love or hate for me ... I cannot exist without Pokémon. I have no life without it ... and no life with it.
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was...

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I played a bit of Emerald before, but I only really started getting into the series starting with Platinum, when I made a friend who was a pokefreak and made me a pokefreak as well (thus convincing me to buy Platinum, and it took off from there). Since then, I've loved every new game that came out.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
I really don't like much of anything Pokemon. I remember just shaking my head when it came out, but I don't deny the obsession many people have taken over it. By the way I do like Mystery dungeon, but only because its a dungeon crawler. I have a hard time passing up dungeon crawlers, no matter how nauseating the characters are like in Pokemon lol
