Anybody remember the series of Spider-man comics called Maximum Carnage?
Back in the 90's I was trying to collect them all. Then one day I got robbed and every one of them was stolen.
I almost had the entire series too. After that I was so devastated I gave up Comic collecting.
I still have a few issues of the G1 Transformers comic including the very first issue from 1984.
It's still mint condition and sealed in it's plastic wrappper.
Probably not worth much though. Not that I'd ever sell it.

I actually only had one Gundam comic, which for some reason I didn't like.

Yeah that really upset me when my comics got ripped off but I eventually got over it.
I actually thought about trying to track down some replacements on E-bay.
I bet that would be a hassle though. They were first published around 93 I think.
My chances of finding good copies Is probably slim.

Well, as long as you know what you're doing, there's a lot going on, but they're not all that complicated. They sometimes don't make sense, but complication isn't usually an issue. You have to know what line you're reading. For me, Marvel's Ultimate universe is fun... but it lacks the depth of the main Marvel U, so I stick to the classic. There are these kids getting into the Marvel Zombies universe now, which is pretty lame, and there are a couple others, too (the Noir spin-offs are one example) that tend to be smaller. But you could equate each universe to a different franchise entirely, because aside from the occasional one-issue crossover (that's often considered non-canonical, anyway), they're completely unrelated, and characters are usually only alike in name only. So reading Marvel Ultimate books is akin to reading Naruto, while Marvel Zombies is Neon Genesis Evangelion and the central Marvel U is Inuyasha. Totally unrelated. You just have to know what you're looking for.

Yeah, before mamga became popular they seriealized some of them as comic books. I had a pretty thic one that would be considered a graphic novel now. It was an adaption of the original series. I think it was based on the movie version instead of the series, which I didn't like.

They aren't trying to be PC at ALL with this decision are they?

Also it is canon, just for the Ultimate universe (1610) continuity, not the "standard" Marvel U (616) continuity.

Also, since i saw someone mention it (and as i posted off-topically in the Superman thread), Nick Fury did not turn into Samuel L. Jackson. Again, it's the Ultimate universe Nick Fury who (as of 2002) looks like Samuel L, and even mentions in one book how Samuel L should play him if they made a movie of the Ultimates' story (the Ultimates is the original name of the Ultimate universe's version of the Avengers). Some time later, After seeing the comic, Samuel L made a deal with Marvel to play Fury in any movies if the character was going to be used.

And also also, Spider-Girl rocks. Too bad her most recent ongoing series was just cancelled (though she does have another limited series starting this month as part of the "Spider-Island" story event kicking off in the Spider-Man books).

Why? Just...why? "Oh, I've got a great idea! Let's kill off our one of our most legendary characters and replace him with some new guy! The fans will love us!"

There is nothing wrong with having a Spider Man of color but if that is going to be the case then it should be implemented in good taste!

This is who Marvel needs to use a 'black' Spider Man!

NBC's Donald Glover has already expressed interest in Spider Man and millions of web slinging fans have rallied for him to don the Spidey suit across Facebook and Twitter but it seems as if Marvel just doesn't hear We The People.

I think the artist said the inspiration for the look of the new Spiderman was based on Donald Glover, so I guess in a way he already is Spider Man.

Why don't we just make all the superhero's black? We'll Even have a black Superman.
He can even have an Afro and wear lots of Bling. Yeah that'd go over well.
Seriously though I guess a Black Spider-man kinda makes sense. Most spiders already are black.
I haven't seen a whole lotta white ones.
