Here's some of my pixel art and mods! Feel free to coment!
The "paintings" are made out of glass and wood, the clocks out of lego and the mods, well out of the originals.
Those last two have been dreamy. I like the reflection of the person in the bubble on the bubble she's in, it's a nice effect. Also, I take it those are supposed to be turnips in the sky in the second one?
I haven't drawn anything in while, because every time I think of something to draw, I'm at work and I forget to write it down so I never remember it when I get home. I'm gonna start carrying a piece of paper and a pen in my pocket when I go into work from now on. Could be helpful for multiple things...
I'm so in love with EarthBound now, that I made a sprite based on a random girl I drew once in the style of that game. My first ever pixel sprite, and it's not 100% done yet.
Yeah, I know, it sucks.
Don't worry, I got you covered. I decided to keep posting content here. I also said what I needed to say about your works in your DA page... all of which are great btw
Anyway, I made this a month ago for my class.
I've also been studying 3DS Max for a bit and decided to make a little vintage robot:
One year ago I was really into making my own Picross puzzles and I wanted to make a really big puzzle and started doing Samus but after a couple of days I just stopped and never finished it. Now I thought I'd finish it because I want to bead it and put it on my wall. I found it hard to continue because I am really scared I'll somehow screw it up now. I started by coloring my black and white version which I would've used for Picross. Here's what it looks like right now:
I hope I'll be able to finish it without screwing it up. I only colored places I'm sure I won't be changing anymore. Left hand isn't fully colored because I'm not quite happy with how it looks right now. Oh, and for those who didn't notice it's based on the Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U art.
Bit different from the art usually posted here, as this is a short story I wrote, but I still would like to share it.
I don't want to post the whole thing here (it's like 12 pages long in MLA format), plus it has a dark theme, so be somewhat warned if you want to read it. And without further ado, here is the link: http://soitends.deviantart.com/art/Alone-499715539
I really love food levels, so a while ago, I was messing around with drawing one. I had this lime crocodile thing lying in those concepts, and I got bored and wanted to mess around with colour, so I quickly coloured it. It will never be finished.
Just wanna say: Still wickedly impressed with your art, guys.
Anyways...I think I've figured out my problem with art:
I have no concept of space and proportion, which makes it really difficult to draw without some sort of visual aid...and yet I insist on drawing straight from my imagination. I have been since forever, yet I keep pushing myself to do things the hard way. The only way to improve my drawings will be to practice drawing stuff other people have done and/or drawing still life, until that stuff becomes more innate. Basically I've been doing things backwards, trying to distort reality before I'm even able to replicate it...I feel like the guy who keeps decking out his wizards in heavy armor and then keeps wondering why they keep dying...
I'm gonna try doing some sort of 'art regiment' for a while, see if/how I progress...
@CanisWolfred if I understand what you're saying correctly, I think I have a similar problem.
I find that in a spur of inspiration I always try to make something straight from my head without using references, which ends up looking bad, and then discourages me afterwards so I decide to scrap it. I always know that I need to take a slow approach to my drawings and use references, but admittedly I'm lazy and don't like taking a long time working with it, so in the end I don't really produce anything at all.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I need to practice with references a lot more so that when inspiration hits me, I can actually put exactly what I'm thinking on paper instead of quitting when I think it doesn't come out right. I definitely need to relearn and memorize the basics instead of just winging it like I'm too used to doing.
Wow... an artist thread? Count me in! I'm a professional artist!
I'M NOT FLAT ON MY FEET, NOW I CLANK AND I SQUEAK
BUT MY VOICE IS THE SAME WHEN I SPEAK
MY HAND LOOKS LIKE ALUMINIUM FOIL
DOES THIS MEAN THAT I NEED A TUNE UP AND A CHANGE OF OIL
I'm KirbyFanDL3 on Colors 3D.
Saw this thread on the front page a few days ago. That and some other recent events motivated me to sit down and draw. Its been like a month or so since the last time I did, I've really been letting myself slip.
Anyway, I want to call this a sketch but in total it took around 2 hours. :X It's a character of mine I came up with awhile. I decided to mess around with her clothing style. Not sure if it works but I'm just experimenting anyways.
I'm no fashionista, but I think you did a good a good job with the clothes and hair. Certainly gives the character personality just by the look. Only complain is that the boots kinda look like she's bent here legs in ways that humans shouldn't be able to, but I know from experience how hard feet can be...

Thanks! Limbs in general are something I need to work on. Hands are the absolute worst for me, as you can see here. The legs do look very awkward, I didn't really notice at first! I was trying to do anything other than a boring straight line of action but I guess I didn't pay much attention to the anatomy of the legs.
