Seriously. Business journalists come out of business degrees at university. They don't come out of high school with 1000 hours logged on Call of Duty, which is where games journalism pulls its "talent" from.
Without such an incredibly high standard to follow (see: DS,) the 3DS would not be undergoing a "crisis" and neither would Nintendo. Of course, this "crisis" does make for a nice headline on a blog or website.
Looks like Nintendo is standing on its last leg. If Nintendo falls, whos gonna make Sony and Microsoft look good? I guess its time for the fat plummer to sing!

God loves you
lol I would hope they came out of universities with degrees.
Has nothing to do with this article- but some of these journanlists seems to have this bias against Nintendo. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but to shove your thoughts and opinions down people's throats as facts, just like a writer from IGN did recently talking about Vita vs 3DS, is pretty loony.
Then again I have a failing that writer was trying to start another lulzy fanboy war.
I found the article to be laughable and the comments even more. While the writer picks up his Vita and ignores 3DS, I'll be enjoying both

Now, back to topic.
Don't let that one twat sully IGN. the nintendo crew is still good. If Audrey Drake ends up being the one who reviews Skyward Sword its bound to get a 10 as she's a major zelda Fangirl.
WAT!

Many games journalists, even those that work for "proper" sites such as IGN, either don't have degrees at all, or are still at university.
Games journalism doesn't pay enough to support many proper journalists.

So she's still a bad journalist, it's just that she's on "your side."
Therein lies another problem with games journalism. The readers don't care to read proper writing and reporting. They just want to see their own biases reinforced.

Pretty Much. I know she did a horrible article about the zelda Like Level in Mario 3D Land. She complained that it didn't have any zelda enemies or types of gameplay. The thing is the Level was only inspired by zelda in the gameplay style and nothing else. It just showed that she failed to do research and expected something more even though the infomation was already out.
The Games industry is like that thought. Was listening to 8-4 play podcast (a japanses localization team who worked on stuff like Dragon quest VI and Monster Hunter trI) and they commented how only about only a few guys in the office have Degree's.)
