Even ignoring that, I've seen enough people who live lives that seem odd to me for one reason or another, but if they aren't hurting anyone, its not generally worth my time to care.
No debate there, it is universally considered to be one of the best Christmas movies ever made. Yep, universally.. not a single person thinks otherwise. 🥸
For me, that would be the pineapple on pizza debate. So long in fact that I can't tell anymore if it's still being treated as a joke or has become a serious discussion.
It may have been serious at one point but now it is 100% just a meme. I think Twitch even has pineapple pizza as one of the universal emotes.
_______________
For myself, the 'is mobile gaming real gaming'. This annoys me both when people debate it forever and also when people don't debate it and just assume 'no'. Get over it, your granny playing candy crush is just as much of a gamer as you are playing Apex. More generally the 'you aren't a real gamer if/unless you play X' debates. This affects whole genres of games as well as certain devices. Don't be game-ist! (note that these debates also often involves a heavy dose of sexism, age-ism, various other isms; fundamentally any debate which starts with the premise 'I am superior because' usually is not a good debate).
@Moffo when I was younger I used to compare them, now that I think about it the only similarity they have is that they’re monsters you can capture. Now I think it’s fun to compare the two in a fun way, like this Pokémon vs this digimon, but everything else is just silly lol.

I love debating power levels, feats, speed, etc etc. It's fun; I always do it in any comment section. But, most of the time, these debates( not specifically mine) always end up in name-calling.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
As a general sports fan, the Michael Jordan vs. Lebron GOAT debate is so overdone and tedious. It's comparing apples and oranges. Different eras and different competition. Even in other sports, comparisons and debates between players/teams of different eras can still be kinda interesting and have some merit, but this one in particular just annoys me for some reason, and neither are my favorite NBA player.

Audiobooks aren’t reading. I guess if you go by definition, no but who cares at the end of the day. Whether you listen with ears or read with your eyes, we both read the same story and that’s what I care about.
I remember my lecturer at UNI (Computer Science) going on about what the difference between Art, Science and Engineering was. Because some from the school of Engineering aren't particularly keen on the idea of Software Engineering being a thing, because software isn't really something you can "Engineer"
The general argument went something along the lines of this. Art is the act of expression, it is a subjective discipline. You can't measure the output objectively. You aren't bound by hard, physical rules. You are just noodling away at something and creating subjective pieces of expression
Science on the other hand is a discipline. Science is the act of creating a hypothesis, testing it by measuring an objective output and drawing a conclusion. It's in some ways similar to art because you're still discovering new things as part of the process. But what you're discovering is something that's measurable
Engineering? Engineering is the act of implementing well established rules. You have a set of well established structures that you exist within and you have to figure out a way to implement that to solve a specific problem. You're not really discovering you're more just extrapolating a set of laws
Games are built with all three.... but the end product is most definitely art

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
@Summer235 Ehh, I care. Audio books don’t come with the benefits you get from reading. Your reading level doesn’t increase, nor does your understanding of literature. It’s mostly just getting the story and nothing else.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
nor does your understanding of literature. It’s mostly just getting the story and nothing else.
Why would your understanding of literature be any less from hearing the words versus looking at those same words on a flat surface? I mean, if you aren't paying close attention or thinking that is true but it's just as easy to not pay close attention or think while looking at words.
Also, this thread is inevitably descending into making the arguments which the former people listed as the most tedious arguments. 😆 I apologize for contributing to this.
“Is Nightmare before Christmas a Halloween movie? Or a Christmas movie?”
I legit think it’s both, I feel like it mix both really well and I feel like my perception of the movie changes depending if it a Halloween or Christmas honestly.

@Link-Hero Right! Thank you! When I watch it on October I feel like it’s a Halloween movie, I just see those elements more, and on Christmas I see the Christmas elements more! The way it blends them together is a nice balance! You don’t have too much Halloween, and not to much Christmas! Since like you said the plot revolves around both. I personally view it at both in the same year as I think it’s fun to do.
