@Joeynator3000 No worries, so B7 (2017), that's probably why he recommends Limited video output. I would try Full video output on my C9 for you but my Switch Lite won't serve. Do it when you get it and let us know!

No that was just a video, the RGB settings thing I read elsewhere, I forget where but it was another forum. They were talking about the Limited thing for C9s, and Full makes the Switch look ugly on those TVs or something.

EDIT: Well this is odd...I cannot find a single video of the C9 and the Switch, and Switch videos involve an older TV...WTF?

@Joeynator3000 I see. When you get your C9 try Switch on both modes and let us know.

...Do I seriously have to do this myself? lol

Like, I specifically search for C9 and Switch, and it keeps pulling up B8 or completely different TVs. xD
Ugh, screw you internet, lol.

I wonder how I should record this...I don't wanna hold my phone up constantly and try to control the Switch at the same time...>.>

lol...people say the Switch looks fine on this TV and yet....no videos at all...just older TVs. xD

EDIT: I completely forgot that my iPad has cameras, lol. So I can easily set that up on my bed and aim it at the TV, quality seems decent, can't tell for sure but it seems a bit better than my phone. Do Apple devices have better cameras than Androids?

...Maybe I should try recording a 3DS video with it...lol

@all thanks (again) for all the constructive (and fast) feedback!

@Joeynator3000 I live in the Netherlands, but thanks for pointing it out!

When are you planning on making the video? You don't own the tv yet do you?

@Woomy_NNYes thanks for the advice. It seems like I'm narrowing it down to the C9 series, given all the positive WoM here and the fact that it seems worth the slight increase of budget. I'll try to check it our irl tomorrow. I'm probably going with the 55" and 4 HDMI's will suffice (though merely with a Chromecast, an STB and 2 game consoles).

Side note: funnily enough we do nothing with inches, but for monitor sizes we never use another metric than that.

Screw, I just realize I kinda need 5 HDMIs - I also have a sound system. That probably means I'll have to let the Switch and PS4 take turns...

I won't be getting any of my new stuff until next month (...besides the desk, got that a few days ago, lol), so I'm not sure when I'll do a video.

@toiletduck At least, three of the HDMI ports are on the side so they're easy to access. There is also an optical out port if you can use that for your audio receiver. If it's Dolby Atmos or something like that you'll need HDMI though.

@toiletduck If you're looking at different LG OLED TVs with different picture processors, you can probably sort out if something like the B series would suit your needs from reviews and I suspect you can easily find input lag measurements for these TV, and any oddities that go with that. I recently saw a video of TVs and some TVs have some quirks for putting them in game mode, such as labeling the input a "PC" rather than a console. To be clear, I'm not saying input lag should be a problem for a B or C OLED, or any other TV in your price class, but I think figures from those TVs should be easy to find, so you may be able to tell if difference in picture processing would even matter for your needs.

Four inputs sounds pretty high for TVs these days. Keep in mind that there are simple, inexpensive HDMI switchers out there that are handy for when you need an extra input or two. The ones I've bought have been good. Just remember to check their HDMI specs if you go that route. You don't want one that can't handle 4K60 if that's what you're after. Good luck with your TV search.

Four should be enough for me...hopefully surround sound will still work with this HDMI-ARC thing. I have this weird setup for my current TV involving a splitter, so the Switch is outputting to the sound bar and TV at the same time. It works, so, whatever. xD

I wouldn't use a splitter or switch for connecting consoles to a TV because that could add lag and interferences. The C9 has three HDMI ports on the side (and one on the rear) that you can use anytime. It also recognises consoles and sets the game mode up automatically, at least when I connected my Xbox One and PS4. When I connected my Wii U, the TV asked me what it was and I selected the "game console" option. On the dashboard I could rename it "Wii U". Same for SNES Classic. I assume that Switch is detected as a console automatically.

As for input lag, 12.9ms. I tried Donkey Kong Country (on SNES Classic Mini) and it was like playing on a CRT TV. No input lag my human eyes could detect and I know this game better than I know myself. Even SNES games not just play but look good on this 4K TV and that's impressive.

The remote controller has a pointer option for the menus. It's optional and works similarly to a Wii Remote. It also has dedicated buttons for streaming apps.

Here I found the information about the input lag, features, etc.:

https://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-OLED55C9MLB

But I read many independent reviews before buying mine.

I actually get no lag with my splitter, if there is any I don't notice it at all. Even when playing Thumper. (a rhythm game, btw, lol) Anyways yeah I'll just have to mess around and test things out, hopefully I won't need the splitter and the Switch's surround sound will still work with that ARC thing.

But yeah....my Switch is like...using 3 or 4 HDMI cables right now. xD

Yeah, one of the reasons why I want a new TV. Switch is uses 4 cables, Bluray is using 2 since it goes through an audio converter for the sound bar. (because the Switch has to use the sound bar's HDMI port, lol)

Yeah, it's a mess. xD

@toiletduck If you agree it might help somebody in the future, after you get a TV, edit the initial thread post to mention which TV model & year you ended up with.

If and/or when I do the video, I'll post it here. I'll also post what settings I'm using for it. I'm thinking of just running a bunch of random games on it and showing off a few minutes of them all. Maybe the SNES Classic too, that'll be interesting. lol

I will say, though...there will be a 97.67% chance that Sanya will get in the way, lol

I'm wondering if I should still do a video of the TV and Switch, I should be getting mine this Friday. Can't decide if it's worth it or whatever....then again I also wonder how well the recording could turn out with my iPad. >.>
