I admit to preferring Nintendo games and systems over other consoles and developers. Is it bad that I enjoy Nintendo games more than (for example) PS3 games?
I find that term rather annoying. What just because I prefer one company's games over anothers that makes me a fanboy? If loving Nintendo's games is wrong I don't wanna be right. I wouldn't be gaming if not for them. As long as you don't bash the company someone else prefers you're fine.

If you enjoy them more than others, but not comment that every ps3 and x360 game is bad youre not really a fanboy.
Oh I do enjoy my PS3, a lot actually. But I prefer the fun, whimsical gameplay of most Nintendo (and some Sega) games. Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Smash Bros., and Pokemon are all games that I grew up on and will forever enjoy over the latest GTA and Halo.

Exactly my point. I wouldn't call myself a fanboy, but I do prefer Nintendo and Sega games over most PlayStation and Xbox games (first party and third party).
As long as you don't troll about how Nintendo is better than this or that, then you're fine. The games you enjoy are the games you enjoy. It shouldn't matter what console they're on.

But in Nintendo's case, it kind of does matter. Without their unique hardware, their games wouldn't be as interesting.
Well I am the same. Nintendo just happens to have the games I like. See I love Dragon Quest now and that ain't Nintendo but it has the same Quality and upbeat colorful stuff I love.
I just hate how Sony always has to put down Nintendo products. Sega did the same thing when they were competing. You never hear Nintendo attacking the other companies like that. Why can't we all just quit trying to prove who's got the better stuff? It's all videogames so let's be open minded and enjoy them as a whole.

To be fair, Sega actually had the games to back up their claims (during the Genesis and Dreamcast eras, at least). Sony just has a bunch of games that are too similar to 3rd-party titles. Aside from Ratchet & Clank and LittleBigPlanet, not many titles in Sony's catalogue really stand out. They really need their own "Halo" or "Mario", something that makes people realize "this is a Sony game."

@ tendoboy1984 When Sonic came around during the Genesis days it was the first time I took notice of another company besides Nintendo. They really did a good job making Mario seem uncool and out dated. Suddenly he was the old man and Sonic was the new hip character with an attitude. Those were the days. Sadly now he's not as cool but he's doing better lately.

Your right. Spyro and Crash were Sony's mascots. Not anymore though!
It's a bit more complicated than that. Naughty Dog and Insomniac created Crash and Spyro (respectively), and Sony was the games' publisher. Universal Interactive (a subsidiary of Universal Studios) owned the rights to the characters, however, so they were never officially Sony's mascots.
Universal merged with French company Vivendi in 2000, forming Vivendi Universal. Vivendi then sold their stake in Universal to GE (owners of NBC), this became NBC Universal.
In 2007, Vivendi merged their games division with Activision, forming Activision Blizzard. Long story short: Activision is now the owner of Crash and Spyro.

Sonic Rush gave Sonic a new identity, with a focus on speed over pure platforming. The 3D games then expanded on this formula (Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations). These games brought Sonic back in the spotlight for me. I was a huge fan of Sonic Rush, and seeing that style of fast gameplay enhanced in 3D is just breathtaking.
@Tendoboy Crash made me buy Sony consoles when I was little. Crash and Spyro were their mascots. Solid Snake too while we're at it.
As for the topic. Being a huge fan is fine. Being a fanboy can becoming annoying. There's nothing wrong with playing favorites in the video game world. Just don't get carried away.
