@teejay what gave it away?! yes i really love music, especially from a musician's standpoint. i like to dissect music in my head. i also love skilled musicians, no matter the genre. i'm mainly into metal cuz that's where tons of great musicians are, but not weird stuff like death metal or grindcore. and the ibanez gio and fender stratocaster are two decent, cheap, entry-level guitars.
Lots of censorship here...

@GuardianAcorn yeah it is, considering according to Wikipedia next to no bands are "rock" most other genres with "rock" at the end should be alternative to it mainly listening to bands like Pixies, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, Pulp, Radiohead, Bikini Kill, Dinosaur Jr, Jesus and Mary Chain, Nirvana etc. on the "alternative" side of things. although currently rocking the Chrono Trigger soundtrack

@Otaku This is the sheet music I learned the song from. n_n
On an unrelated note, sometimes I listen to video game music and translate that to the piano by ear. I've done that with a song from the Original Rayman, the tropical stages in NSMB DS, and Kakariko Village in Twilight Princess.
The last time I played trombone was 12 years ago when I was lead chair for that section in Jazz Band for High School. The reason I learned trombone was because I had a very difficult time learning how to match the combination of button to notes when I was learning baritone as I couldn't seem to understand the button presses without seeing them and couldn't blow into a trumpet as it required very tight lip muscles. I had spent 2 years playing baritone by looking at the hand of the person next to me and my teacher would've never got that I didn't really know how to play until I told him myself. I ended up in Jazz for the reason that since I didn't learn how to read music correctly early on, I instead developed better improvisational music talent which is kinda what Jazz is all about. We won our only two 1st place Jazz competition trophies the two years I was present when other High School classes didn't interfere with my ability to be present at said competitions. Despite the passing of 12 years, I'm sure I could play the trombone instantly now if there were one in front of me, but I doubt I could easily pick up sheet music, that could take more time. I've never played the recorder.
TL;DR: Blah, blah, blah, trombone.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
@GuardianAcorn ah, this has a lot of opinions on the subject, I'd class rock as a genre with punk-rock etc. as sub-genres. it gets fairly ridiculous a few levels after that with sub-genres of sub-genres so I tend to avoid them

i've never been a big fan of brass. strings and percussion are my favorites, with some woodwind mixed in for good measure. i do enjoy brass when used correctly though

I forgot how to play the flute back in 6th grade, and I regret it so much. I gotta relearn that thing so that I can play some of the songs I wrote. I also got a hand-me-down guitar recently, so hopefully I can practice it long enough for my fingers to stop hurting. Something to do before I die, I suppose.
