So much nonsense online. Arms suck, Arms is awesome. I am well into the "Arms is awesome" camp. I feel this game was under reviewed, and generally is a much better game than many reviews indicate. A very 3D fighter, with a lot of depth. I got my Switch late, just this Xmas, and this was one of the first games I got. I'm just hoping for a sequel. I love playing online and off line.
Anyone else like this game as much as I do?
ARMS has a Metacritic of 77 for what I would imagine was its earliest version. I think that score is a little generous for ARMS at release. ARMS is a game that became much better after its free DLC run, and I personally still consider ARMS the best Nintendo game on Switch. It's an addictive 3D fighter that seems like it draws inspiration from Custom Robo for its mechanics. The personality is great too throughout. Menus, characters, stages and the ARMS are all vibrant and colorful. It's easy to get immersed in the game's atmosphere.

I was just playing it on Saturday with my 6 year old cousin, and after seeing us play his older brother asked if he could play, I love it because it's simple for younger kids to play, but can still be deep enough for teens and adults
I think the nature of reviews doesn't fit games with significant post launch support well, you get the initial review and then that's it meanwhile the game isn't static.
IGN reviewed Master Chief Collection for its initial launch in 2014 and then re-reviewed it in 2019 when Halo Reach was added (2015 had Halo 3 ODST campaign and 2018 had a lot of improvements to the base collection), that is the kind of review setup games with significant post launch support should get.

I have fallen in love with ARMS since the first reveal on 12 January 2007 since Boxing is my favorite sports.
The Fighting gameplay concept with 3rd person view, moveable character and Rush Gauge like Street Fighter Alpha were just exactly i want.
But if only there is a Cartoonish Boxing or Kickboxing games with same features as ARMS (without stretching arms) it will be exactly boxing games i really want.
I really wish Nintendo will consider ARMS 2 with more features and character customization. And it will be nice if there is a Boxing mode and Fitness mode on ARMS 2.
I haven't played much of it in a while, but I do love ARMS. Yeah, it is a little light on content, but for a first entry in a new IP, I was pretty happy with it overall. It's a pity it kinda got overlooked and forgotten, and I'll always wonder if we might have gotten more characters and content if it had been more successful.
ARMS is my favorite game on Switch, but I still think reviews it got were fair. Even after the free updates, this really doesn't feel like a full price game. It would have been fine for a Dreamcast release, but doesn't cut it by 2017 standards.
As a kid who grew in the Dreamcast era, I say fun is more important than content. But I tell most people to pick up ARMS when it becomes a Nintendo Select.
And for Christ's sake Nintendo, make this game a Select already.
@vuduthmb1985 I enjoyed the game buy it felt like a shell of a game. Such interesting character designs with little to no story. Basically only tournament mode and online mode to play. I just generally need more than that to hold my interest in a game. If they had treated it more like Splatoon, with more and more features and modes and characters getting added, I think it would have taken off, but they just didn't do that.

Yeah alot of reviewers weren't very kind to this game. Word of advice. Never trust IGN reviews. they crapped all over so many games i loved. Double Dragon neon being one of them. They said beat em ups were a dead genre and the game was archaic and outdated in design. No kidding it's supposed to be that way moron! The guy acted like he had no interest in the genre. Then why the hell review the game? That still burns me up!
I like to form my own opinions. Screw what some guy on the internet says.
