Everyone has their personal taste when it comes to gaming. Some even come to loathe certain genres. This topic is where you name a genre you typically don't like or generally hate, but find one game that fits it that you absolutely enjoy. This has happened to me numerous times. I'll start with a few.
I don't often like strategy games but I love the Pikmin franchise.
I don't like sports video games but I like NES Ice Hockey and NBA Jam.
I don't like mini game collections but I like Wii Sports Resort.

Pikmin is more of a Puzzle game than a strategy game. Ice Hockey and NBA Jam are Arcade Sports games, very different from Simulation Sports games. Animal Crossing isn't really a Sim IMO, so much as it's a singleplayer MMO, but maybe that's just how I view it. May even be a blend of some sort.
I guess Animal Crossing is a sim in the same way Zelda is an action RPG. Not all genre's are clearly defined. If someone said they didn't like puzzle games for example would they mean block puzzlers or action puzzler or platform puzzlers? There has to be some leeway here.

@Mickeymac & @brandonbwii: I never would have labeled any of those games with those genres. Pikmin doesn't really have much strategy and always struck me as an adventure game, there's no way Zelda is an action RPG, and I have no idea what Animal Crossing would be, but I guess it would fit in with sandbox games.
I don't like puzzle-adventure-comedy games but I like Portal 2 (or rather i've never played a puzzle-adventure-comedy game before, but Portal 2 makes me want more of them).
I don't like online, massively-multiplayer, complex, gory, and free FPS games but I like Team Fortress 2 (the fact that I have a blood and gore filter helps).
And now for less Valve...
I don't like poker games but I like Poker Night at the Inventory.
I don't like episodic games but I like Sam & Max, as well as SBCG4P.
I don't like horror games but I like Puzzle Agent (okay so that's an exaggeration, but there's no creepy gnomes genre).
And now for less Telltale...
I don't like rhythm games or sadomasochistic games or pretentious artgames but I like BIT.TRIP.
And now for a twist on the topic...
I don't like Scribblenauts but I like emergent puzzle action video games.
I don't care for 3rd person shooters but I like Ghostbusters The Videogame (at least on the 360; couldn't get past the creepy artstyle of the Wii version).
