I agree WolfRamHeart. I got my NES bundle for Christmas my freshmen year of high school and I rode that system out for the next four years of high school. Good times indeed.
You must have amassed quite the collection of games since then, right Corbie? Sadly my NES no longer works but I still have a bunch of my old NES games still in their original boxes with instructions. I can't bear to get rid of those babies!
I've got quite a bit of game stuff. Too much to be honest. This game room won't hold much more stuff. And I finally broke down and bought one of those top-loading NES systems a few years back as I got tired of wiggling the carts to get them to come on in the regular deck.
25, and my first system was the Nintendo bundle with R.O.B. as well. Gameboy with Tetris, the original Sega Genesis with the volume slider, and I got Sonic 1 with it. The order of which I got my systems/handhelds. NES, Gameboy, Sega Genesis, SNES, SegaCD, Sega32X, Nintendo 64, Gameboy Color, PS2, Gameboy Advance, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance SP, DS, PSP, Wii, PS3, DSi
I’m 20! My first videogame experience was playing centipede in an old arcade. I believe I was 3 and being held up by my father to play the game. Or at least that’s what my parents told me lol!
In fact, thank you Mom and Dad for buying me videogames as gifts on my B-Day and such, not to mention a good allowance as a kid. Now that I’m older, I’m buying my own games and realize how expensive they can be!
12,even though iam young I like the virtual console beter than most new consolses because I love N64 games! I do wish I could have lived in the N64 era though. And I am getting a point card today just for majora's mask.
You know, I've avoided reading this topic for a long time because I was afraid everyone would turn out to be 15 - 20 or so and I'd feel like a big old good-for-nothing failure.
Now I see that I'm right in the average age group!
I'm 28. First console was the Atari 2600, and, yes, I owned ET. And, yes, I knew even then, with so little to compare it with, that it was a really bad game.
I was a huge Nintendo fanboy until the end of the N64 era, when I sort of lost interest. I bought a Game Cube at some point and with the exception of Pikmin and Wind Waker, was not very impressed at all.
In fact, I held off on buying a Wii for a very long time. I forget what changed my mind, specifically...but I honestly think it was the appeal of the Virtual Console that tipped me into the "interested" category. How happy I am, then, that so many Wii games are as good as or better than the ones that made me fall in love with gaming in the first place.
