You are a brave soul! I use my computer too much and could use some exercise. I am out of shape as of the past couple years. I should get back into running.
Well, in the time being just focus on eating healthy. After all your diet is the most important thing when getting into shape, the other 20% is excerise.
Depends on what you mean by "shape." If you just want to be thinner, then yea, your computer isn't necessarily an obstacle. I've read that standing up to use the computer is better in some sort of way... though obviously if you're spending hours without break, this is less of an option.
If you question the amount of time you spend online, try a week or a weekend without a computer just an experiment of sorts. It makes it a bit easier to spend less time once you start using it again since you'll be used to doing other things. I had to physically pick up my laptop or the sight of it would lure me in, and in fact I even left it somewhere else for awhile so I wouldn't drag it out the closet.
A lot! Seriously how did anyone do anything before the internet?!! I shop, read game/music/film info , do all my banking , do all my *anking and so much more. The internet is a beautiful thing well........ , sometimes!)

It's not that I don't get any exercise, I'm just in terrible shape compared to me about 2 years ago. It happens, but I also know that my computer (and other video games) get in the way. I also require my computer way too much to just put it away. I always have something that I could research, and it isn't like I'm not learning anything from my time online (and I love to learn stuff). When I come home at the end of the day (or middle of the day if it isn't busy), most of my work on paper is done with and I just want to relax. But I also have some research to do for reports, sometimes programming work or just reading. I just don't consider jogging very relaxing anymore and so don't do it.
I also have a terrible diet; mostly consisting of pizza and muffins
