Topic: Has the 3DS destroyed the Competition - Vita?

At this rate it looks like the Vita has more of a chance to crush the 3DS than vice versa. While Monster Hunter 3G and Monster Hunter 4 are big positives for the 3DS, at Gamescom there was a potentionally true leaked list of PS Vita games currently in ..., some of which have actually proven to be true games (see Metal Gear Solid Collection, Rayman Origins, Disgaea 3, and Street Fighter X Tekken). There are also some REALLY big names on that list (Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Dead Space, Ninja Gaiden, Bioshock) that would completely crush almost everything that the 3DS currently has based on popularity alone. But, like many people on this thread have said, let's wait until the Vita actually comes out.

How big is the rock you live under? It seems a majority of people on this site bash on every system including the 3DS and Vita.

I understand why you would hate the all powerful Sony and their great line-up of games.
Maybe if Nintendo is lucky, when they drop out of the console race, maybe Sony would give them a job as Jack Tretton's butt wiper, I'm sure Miyamoto would love that job. since Nintendo is used to making and giving us nothing but crap!
When the Vita comes out, Nintendo will have no choice but to give up making their pathetic games.

I would wait and see if those games are (A): actual Playstation Vita games and (B): almost identically similar to their console counterparts. For all we know, a Mass Effect game on the Playstation Vita could become the next X-COM, and I mean the 1993 X-COM, not that new game that has nothing to do with the original whatsoever.

See how in my original comment I was only looking at the fact that the OP had no real facts. So here, because you are so special, counterpoints.

I have also played originals of games in bold, and if released, they would in fact influence my decision to buy Vita over 3ds

The one problem I really have with the Vita is that it's so port friendly. For all of these big-name titles announced or rumored, every single one of them looks like something I'd just rather play on a PS3. How many of the Vita's big games will literally be available on PS3? How many of them already are? Is the Vita anything more than a portable version of the 5-years established HD console with a touch screen for Angry Birds? That's going to be an important question.

Don't try to tell me the 3DS is full of ports; every console has some ports, and remakes of old N64 games are not "ports."

also the series is supposed to end with 3, that would go into blatant "money is the only reason this exists" territory, which Bioware really doesn't have to do

Well, they are kinda different, I don't even think they are competing really.

The 3DS still has some time to gain momentum with the end of year titles coming out. There is a good possibilty for a large boost in sales over the holidays. Also an important factor in the DS's victory over the PSP is the cheaper price, which, after the price drop, the 3DS has won again. Destroyed? I don't think so. A good lead? Absolutely.

if i could afford both, id get both. they are very different, each having their own strengths and weaknesses

I didnt really see anyone bashing vita. For a nintendo site i thought they were being pretty nice.

I know there are good games for the Vita. My point was just that the PSP was saved by MH, so maybe Vita would collapse? Ah well, I don't mind anyway. I want the Vita and 3DS to do well by the way, I don't want the Vita to fail, Sony and Nintendo do different things better than each other.

Not too much I'm interested in announced for the Vita yet, but that doesn't really matter anyway because I only really have enough money to cover me for one home console and one handheld so I won't be getting one either way.
I hope it does well for the sake of everyone who decides to get one, as long as my beloved 3DS gets its fair share of the glory too.

Well Pokemon+Monster Hunter+Mario=3 more popular franchises in japan. So 3ds is not a winner yet, but if Nintendo play her cards right with 3ds light she will be back on track. Nintendo DS success probably wont happen again though. Vita is great but lack killer titles so far.
