I thought I heard a plane suddenly falling to the ground, but it was just the quality of EA's conference.
Still MUCH better than last year's conference.
to be fair, they could've all taken a crap on stage while yelling SPORTS!!1!!1! for an hour, and it would've only been slightly worse than EA's last year.
Man EA really spent that long on a minons game that plays like the rest of their EA game without showing the Amy henning Star Wars game or more stuff about Mass Effect.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.
Yeah, EA's conference wasn't that good. The highlights were Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, SW Battlefront, and Unravel. Overall thoughts: Better than last year, but not that great. Will likely still be the worst conference out of the bunch.
pele is NOT the best football player...but still funny to see him on stage and talk about the most beautiful sport ever^^
He's still a legend.
Anyway, if you ask me, soccer is agonizingly boring to watch on TV. The FIFA games are a snore too. It's fun to play in person, and that's about it.
well when i watch a football game i dont just see 22 players and 1 ball. i see defence lines, empty zones, run opportunities, pass combinations etc. everything about that sport is just amazing to me. it is way deeper than many people could imagine. i like american football too and it's sad that you barely get to see it here in germany, but it is just different than football. football is way more flexible, dynamic and like pele said: beautiful
I'm aware the game has a lot of depth. But as someone who lives in the US, where local soccer isn't really a big deal (outside of Seattle, it's huge there), I don't really have a team, and I'm not really driven to learn the intricacies of the game.
When I say soccer is boring to watch I more mean it's boring to watch with little emotional investment. I don't blame that on the sport as much as I blame it on how the game is shown. The camera is far above the field, so you see a large portion of the field as the players are playing. As a result, relative to Football, Hockey, or Basketball, it feel very slow.
I think it's a similar case with Baseball, but I grew up in St. Louis, which eats, sleeps, and breathes Cardinals Baseball, so I have a really strong emotional investment.
What do you guys think of Sea of thieves? Graphics-wise it doesn't look bad, and its miles more interesting then all that "Sports" nonsense they made the past few years. But to say its super exciting......no! Oh, and there's no Banjo threeie by the way.
I'll say, most of the indies at the Xbox event looked good (especially Cuphead, the game with the blind girl, and Ashen). Oh, and one of them Westerado: Double Barrelled Edition) is an Adult Swim game, lol.
Sea of Thieves looked interesting (as did Recore, the Keiji Inafune game), and if I had an XOne I'd totally get Rare Replay, as I've never played any of their games before (other than DKC, which won't be on it for obvious reasons).
Tomb Raider looked like it could be exciting, though I haven't played the first one, I'm not into racing sims, but Forza 6 looks pretty at least, and the video I watched had bad resolution, which hit Halo 5 & Gears 4 the hardest, as I couldn't make heads or tails of what was going on in their demos.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I'm super-excited because it's a Pirate game that doesn't look as bad as Risen 1-3 or the crappy MMO's and cheap arcade-y games that make up the majority of Pirate-themed games, and I'm a sucker for (good) Pirate-themed games.
Oh, and I'm surprised more people aren't talking about ReCore (unless I missed them, only been skimming the topic thus far). I figured it'd cause a lot of comotion around here...though Keiji Inafune's name definitely adds some pause...
Now I think about it, E3 is pretty much a competition between companies, too see who can entertain the viewers most and win them over. The game's themselves sometimes get pushed aside to constantly entertain and keep the attention of the audience.
The companies must really put a lot of work into their presentation to make sure they fill the needs of the people, while not making themselves look like fools.
.....Maybe Nintendo going digital only is a good thing. >.> lol
If it means no live singers then yeah
Well with the Digital Event, Nintendo just gets to the point right away...but, these live things...Ubisoft talks too much. lol
The only thing that is truly missed is the atmosphere, other than that I would take the digital event anyday and yes, and some of the jokes are cringey as well. All the fun thou of E3 I suppose
That's the only thing I really miss, no audience with Nintendo trailers, makes them more epic. I still remember everyone going crazy with DK Country Returns reveal.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Recore looks interesting, even if it wasn't real gameplay.
As for real-time presentation vs digital event: A digital event is more aimed at the most important thing, the players. And it did work so far (I liked it). But at the same time it was great to hear the press cheer when Twilight princess was on the screen. That isn't possible with a Digital event. But lets be honest: Nintendo has Digital events nowadays, because that's LOTS cheaper then a real-time presentation! I can only imagine how much it costs to rent a LA theater for 1 or 2 hours.
I still think though: No real-time event is a step back. If you want to roll with the big dogs, you NEED a real-time presentation!
