Oh wow, was really not expecting Fallout 4 this year. Now I really have to consider a PS4 way sooner than imagined. Bloodborne, Witcher 3, Arkham Knight and now this.
I was planning on watching it on YouTube after the fact (to avoid stream buffs), but Bethesda didn't have it up themselves (when you clicked on their video, it was just a 15 second video saying "Thanks for Watching"), and the only other options were IGN's recording (which kept going out, going to their "Technical Difficulty" screen), and a recording by some no name channel with terrible resolution...
Still watched the Smash event, which was nice though.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I was going to watch Bethesda's conference, but I was already feeling a little tired. Then it started a little late and I heard "Please welcome the vice president of PR..." and that's when I closed the tab.
Looks like all I really missed was Fallout though, which I'm not crazy about. I'm glad I chose my nap!
I chose to sleep instead of watch the Bethesda conference, I'll likely do the same with Sony tonight. The Nintendo World Championships were great outside of that kid commentating on Splatoon and the separation between new (main stages) and classic games (underground) rather than a mixture.
I didn't watch Bethesda either, but I'm not that crazy about their games, so no huge loss for me, and I watched it this morning anyway. I'm still not sure if I'm going to watch Sony's press conference live, I will see how much more I can endure after Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft.
Another non-Bethesda watcher here. I don't really care about their games. Doom looks good, but honestly, I liked what I saw of the cancelled Doom 4 better. If I want to play a modern version of classic Doom, I'll just play one of the mods.
I can't imagine Ubisoft or EA doing anything that will interest me enough to stay awake all day (off work at 7:00am, back at 11:00pm). Aisha Tyler makes Ubisoft's conferences nigh unwatchable as it is, but I don't think they'll surprise me with their game line-up. EA hosts are alright, but I'm not sitting through an hour of shootbang and sports to maybe see a CG trailer of Mass Effect 4.
Will definitely catch Sony's conference though, and maybe Microsoft, though that would only leave me with about 5 hours of sleep.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
One thing bothered me about the Nintendo- World Championships.
Why was the game played The Legend of Zelda I instead of, say, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker? You can chalk up the thing to nostalgia, but the early games of The Legend of Zelda are hardly representative of the puzzles and story of which the series is known. (There were mazes and hidden rooms, but not exactly puzzles.) In that matter, why Super Metroid instead of Metroid: Other M? If they were going for nostalgia, the championships would have put the original Metroid game.
Saw the Bethesda conference...Doom isn't my type of game but from a technical perspective I was sad they didn't show more demon variety. Also the person playing wasn't very good. I am excited about dishonored 2 though.
Not impressed by the fallout mobile game, Slightly annoyed that fallout starts as a hetrosexual couple and that you don't play as the baby...which is what I thought would happen. The engine looks great though but I'm not feeling the talking protag...mainly because a game like this there is a ton of dialogue and I am not a fan of the the mass effect approach to conversations. It seems cool at first until you realize that you pretty much have NO idea what your protag will say and with that type of convo style it doesn't always matter what you pick.

I think the first Zelda game was chosen both for nostalgia and that seems to be the direction Zelda U is going in (open world). Other M is generally considered an abomination (because it ruins Samus' character) so of course they wouldn't choose that and actually Super Metroid is generally considered more nostalgic than Metroid.

Perhaps because all of the games they showed are either available to download or are being promoted by Nintendo for E3. The elimination round games were all from the VC, the main games were all either recent or soon to be released titles for Wii U and 3DS. I'm not saying I have a problem with it and I don't think there's a problem with it but ultimately the whole event was there for marketing. Why would they market games that you can't go home and purchase? Also doesn't hurt that NES/SNES era games are well understood, fairly simple, short and easy to setup challenges.

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
1. I really don't care about Doom but I found the demo to be technically impressive. The music and sound effects weren't that impressive but I have high hopes with Mick Gordan on OST duties. SNAPMAP SNAPMAP SNAPMAP SNAPMAP, A bit suprised the beta was still a no show.
2. Dishonored 2 looks cool with a female protag to boot. The game doesn't seem too follow any of the endings of the first game but looks to be a mix of a few. Sad no gameplay footage was shown though.
3. I couldn't care less about Battlecry but it has a nice art direction I guess.
4.They're making a hearthstone clone, seems a bit short sighted to put elder scrolls in the name. Hearthstone was a great name becuase it allows them to eventually make Diablo, starcraft and other expansions.
5.Fallout 4 looks cool, its an interesting story conceit, but I wanted to see more of the RPG and less of the crafting and tower defense.
I'm hoping for something traditional from Rare. Even their logo has the old logo, so I think that's all but confirmed. Even if it's just a collection like Kotaku saw. I'll be going to the Sony E3 theater thing later tonight, I'm pumped for it
