Some would work as TV shows. Metroid as a miniseries with Game of Thrones production values and an Aliens vibe to it would be great.
I'm not sure Fire Emblem would work, because none of those games have much of a story; the games are all about the gameplay and characters involved in a cookie-cutter 'save the world from evil tyrant' plot (I say this with love, as it's my favorite Nintendo franchise). It would be like Seinfeld: Castle Siege Edition. Every episode would open with the crown prince protagonist doing some "And what's the deal with Bern's king?" bit to an audience of mercenaries and soldiers.
Zelda wouldn't work, because having Link open his mouth and say things ruins everything. Everything.
Very few games would translate well into a movie though. When I look at the selection of games that have a single-player story/campaign that only lasts a couple hours... your list is basically a bunch of Call of Duty and Valve games. I guess some games would be a couple hours long if you removed all the puzzles and cut to the chase, but then you're left with hackjobs like Resident Evil, because studios don't seem to understand that flashy action scenes were never the point or appeal of a game with puzzles.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Honestly, I don't want to see any videogame being turned into a movie.
I mean, once upon a time, I salivated at the idea of an epic, LOTR-style Zelda film.
When I was 13.
Now that I'm all growd up, I hate the idea that a videogame needs an accompanying silver-screen adaptation. To me, it sends the message that experiencing a story through the videogame medium isn't 'valid' enough; that the only way to 'properly' tell the narrative is through a 2-hour CGI-fest.
Which is crap.
Zelda is not meant to be as movie. The best way to experience Zelda, is to PLAY Zelda. This goes for any other game franchise with 'Hollywood' aspirations.
I think people still have this mentality that a blockbuster movie is the 'holy grail'; when an IP finally achieves 'legitamacy' in mainstream society. Nuts to that, I say. Games are way better than movies. Games can achieve SO MUCH MORE than movies. They have the capability of providing new experiences that cannot be emulated by movies. Hollywood is a cesspool - and has been for many years now (I mean, for Christ's sake, they're making films based on BOARDGAMES now). I don't want a Zelda movie. I don't want an Uncharted movie. I don't want an MGS movie. I want them in game form; where they can be taken in new directions.
Zelda, Pikmin, Mario, Starfox, Metroid - every Nintendo franchise, a lot with Pixar.
Also - Monkey Island could have been great but Pirates of the Caribbean came out and now it won't be that great.
The obvious answer here is Elite Beat Agents. Or maybe that'd be better as a musical first, and THEN a movie after it becomes the highest grossing musical of all time on Broadway! And then Nintendo would HAVE to make another EBA game... AGENTS ARE GO!

What could possibly go wrong?
Don't you mean nothing could possibly go wrong with a Elite Beat Agents movie/musical.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
