Nope. Once i finish a game i move on to the next, unless it's a fighter or something like mario kart. replaying the same game over again at least for me slightly tarnishes that first time experience, not only that but i find it to be a waste of time when i could be using the time to play new games which equal new experiences. I WILL pop in a game that i've already finished maybe a couple or so years later just for some tastey nostalgia, but usually no more than 15-20 minutes.
wow, I always had the impression you were the kind of person that keeps playing the old gems over and over again!
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn
now working at IBM as helpdesk analyst my Backloggery
If I do its at least a year down the line. I have to really like it or it had to be a relatively short experiance. Its usually over the summer when i have more time to play games and a lot of new games arent released.
Obsessively. I don't have that many games because I will play a game over and over and over, just back-to-back like that until something else catches my eye.
@MixMasterMudkip That's very cool! I've played this, and I could definitely see the appeal of running it like that.
With score attack and/or casual games (like Tetris, Zen Pinball, Alleyway, etc.), yes, all the time.
Anything else, almost never. Now, I sometimes run through certain GB games multiple times, because they're so short, but the only other time I replay a game is when I no longer have my original copy, and then get the VC version.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I'm currently replaying Xenoblade - it's that good. And that's before finishing Last Story or Pandora's Tower (that latter has been played for under two hours).
But I'm playing a lot of open ended games lately (I might get back into Civ V now my Internet has come back), and with games like Tomodachi Life requiring a daily time investment, I don't really play linear games much.
Like I said, though, I've been playing Xenoblade through again (haven't even finished Skyward Sword!), and prior to that, I've been playing Little Kings Story on hard difficulty. My King is named Canute. I think I'll play it on easy next - I'll name him Herod and, periodically, I'll send squads of the young to their death.
I assume we're not talking about games like Mario Kart, platformers, or fighting games where we've all replayed certain sections countless times.
I've played through Chrono Cross about 25 times, Ocarina of Time about 15 times, and Tales of Symphonia about 10. No other games would come close to that for full playthroughs. Even Chrono Trigger, other Zeldas, and other Tales games, all of which I'm a fan of, I've played them through 2 or 3 times at most. I plan on replaying Wind Waker soon though, which I think will be my 4th time through the game.
It depends on the game, but if I really enjoy something and think I can get more out of it I will replay it. The main issue is finding the time to do so especially given my backlog of unplayed games. I replay Zelda games the most frequently but the game I've replayed the most consecutive times is Resident Evil 4. I'm currently replaying Final Fantasy IV, will replay Majora's Mask and then Skyward Sword and am itching to replay Mirror's Edge and Chrono Trigger. So yes, I replay my games.
