Topic: Curing a Nasty Sore Throat

WE all get those nasty sore throats that disable us to speak for awhile. Well I have school tomorrow and I want to know what cures a nasty sore throat.

This uh... reminds me of an old joke that is completely inappropriate for this forum.

But I like liquid remedies like NeoCitran (think it's called Theraflu in the States).

I usually stop talking for a day, hot drinks also help a little(especially milk or tea)
also try to keep yourself warm, the slightest coldness can make it worse in some cases.
I like to not use medicine unless I need to, but you aren't me so you could also try what CaviarMeths said(not the part about the inappropriate joke )

drink a lot of water, room temperature not cold. Drink plenty of green tea with a bit of honey to sweeten and coat your throat, and take NyQuil every night. Usually does it for me! Hope you feel better.

Thanks for the suggestions. Just one question though: Does "Alka-Seltzer" help too?

mix some lemon juice and honey into warm water. it relieves the soreness for a while.

I find that more helpful to relieve sinus issues to be honest, it could help though.

Down a ice cold beer followed by a double shot of Jack Daniels... We call that a good old Australian breakfast where I'm from

If your throat is so sore you can't speak (and if it's difficult to swallow), there's a good chance you have a bacterial infection. Go to Urgent Care and have it checked out. You probably need antibiotics, which require a prescription. Maybe even a steroid to open it up. Do it today and you'll be fine by morning.
