Every single Zelda game, excepting Ocarina of Time, and Link's Awakening (depending on my mood).
I get why other people like them, but these games are all formulaic tripe as far as I'm concerned. One of the great ironies is that people criticise Warriors and Call of Duty and <insert popular franchise 'z'> for being repetitive from game to game, but manage to ignore the fact that Nintendo is every bit as guilty at that.
People find differences in games when they like them.
I don't. I see that every Zelda is pretty much the same game. But it's a damn good game. As for Mario, I agree somewhat, except Galaxy and Sunshine were actually rather different. They had the same formula, sure, but the actual game play varied quite a bit.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
zelda is sorta the same... if you compare TP with OOT Mario is way different in every game different power ups, different exits, different stories (mostly) the thing with COD is people have a favorite gun and stick with it in all the other series games.... and play the game with the same gun for online or Co-Op

Also, I can not stand Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. Idk if it technically a good game, but just the fact that they changed the game from a platforming focused game to a create your own vehicle focused game is terrible. Plus the worlds and visuals are nowhere near the level of the previous games. That and Pokemon Ruby/Saphire. I really don't know why, but I hated that game along with Pokemon Black/White.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.
Mario and Zelda may be similar in each game but they have more differences from game to game than COD does.
Not really. COD has different maps each time. And maps are the lifeblood of COD games. Different maps is like having entirely different dungeons in a Zelda game to a COD fan.
As I said. People find differences when they like a game. I can name more differences between Warriors games, than I can name between Mario or Zelda games. It's not that there objectively is more differences, but I find in those games reasons to play them through again. Just like Mario and Zelda fans find reasons to play those formulas through again.
Then we both think the other side is crazy. And everyone is happy and life goes on.
My quick list based solely on a grade of 90+ on metacritic that fit the topic for me.
I can't deny the greatness of these games (based on sales, fanbase, and reviews), but for some reason I can't get into them or just didn't like them at all.
Metroid Prime Trilogy...I've tried 3 times now...I'm keeping it for another try later on.
Grand Theft Auto IV...can't get into the gangster theme and just seemed cheesy to me.
Bioshock 1 ... neat creepiness to it but hated the game. Could be because I stink at 1st Person style games.
Little Big Planet ... My son loves it. I love platformers but LBP seems boring and stale to me.
Mass Effect 2 ... Enjoyed (didn't love) the first one. Hated the second one...Neither Mass Effect compares to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (XBox) even with it being last generation similar engine and theme imo
The Sims...not remotely interesting nor fun imo
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal ... After playing SM64-SMG I have trouble enjoying other 3D platformers half as much.
ICO ... neat ideas and great art style, but I did not enjoy it.
Demon Souls...I know this one didn't score 90 or above, but I always felt that I was the only one that didn't enjoy this game.
Ive seen the COD maps.... they look the same to me just different coloring ie snow, forest, ect.

Portal Way too short for my taste, puzzles were too easy, and never liked the gameplay very much. I find the fans annoying, and the game is way too over-rated. (GamesRadar named it the best game of all time...Really, the game is 3 hours long and virtually un-re-playable due to it being a puzzle game.) . Portal 2 was better, but still on the short side and still easy.
I'd argue that it's not overrated because a game doesn't need to be long or challenging to be fun. Not telling you to like it, but others who do like it likely don't agree with your complaints.
Well, for me at least, in a puzzle game I'd say longevity and challenge are two key factors. Sure those factors don't matter in a game like the original Super Mario Bros, which is an easy game that can easily be beaten in under an hour, but in platformers it really doesn't matter because the fun in a platformer can come from multiple things such as beating the level as fast as possible and avoiding death by a step. Portal is a puzzle game. Most of the fun in a puzzle game comes from trying to solve solutions to a puzzle in you head, putting them to the test, and succeeding or failing. And when there is a hard puzzle in a game that you figure out, it feels rewarding. Unfortunately in Portal, that difficulty is absent and thus the self-reward almost never occurs which may take or give you entertainment depending on how much you like puzzle games. And then once you beat the game in a few hours, that is it. You can go back and replay it, but what is the point if you know the solution to every puzzle and there is only one solution to each. And in many rooms you use the exact same methods to solve the puzzle only the room may have more cliffs or a turret. In Professor Layton, a puzzle game I enjoy, there is a wide variety of challenging puzzles that keep me from getting bored and it takes at least 25 hours to solve every puzzle in the game not counting the weekly puzzles. And then there's also the great story, animation, and music. Every time I got stuck on a puzzle, no matter how frustrating, I kept trying to solve it just so I can see another cut scene and advance in the story. I agree with what IGN said in their review of the game: "The idea behind Portal ends up being more brilliant than Portal itself." That's exactly how I feel about the game. (Am I sounding a little pigheaded? If I do, I'm not trying to, that is just my honest opinion.)

I wouldve said that but, Halo is better now that everyone is ignoring it I still think Halo is better then COD ever could, because Halo has that VideoGame Feeling, while COD has that Military sim like feel

Interesting opinion. I gifted the game to my cousin and he felt largely the same way about it.
I wouldn't call Portal or Portal 2 a great value (as in content:price ratio) but I do think it's fantastic in terms of quality. For me it created an atmosphere that made me feel powerless up until the end (without spoilers) where I, despite myself, managed to do something very powerful, which was an amazing sensation. Also, you can't beat "Still Alive" for end credits.
As for the game I Was Supposed To Like But Didn't, meet...uh, P.B. Winterbottom? Braid? Gish? Scribblenauts? Phantasy Star 0? Rhythm Heaven (that one's close)? Henry Hatsworth? Super Mario Galaxy? Aw, no, I got it fo' sho': Super Meat Boy.
There are a couple of games (namely Portal, BIT.TRIP FLUX, Puzzle Agent 2, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time) that I was determined to prove were failures for some odd reason that I later realized were more or less my favorite games of all time.

I would've said that except for Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Halo, Call of Duty and every other good FPS I haven't played.

I do hope you don't mean to imply that a game's quality changes depending on how popular it is...
Also, I've got another one to add: Advance Wars. Why do I see so many people, even critics, claiming that's some kind of grand strategy game? It's not. That's like saying a Uwe Boll movie should win academy awards.
That's a bit off topic, I guess. I don't understand why people call those games 'good' at all.
Also, Street Fighter games have never done anything for me. Mostly because I suck at them.
Sonic & Knuckles- the only good zone is Lava Reef, the rest are far too difficult and pale in comparison to Sonic 3's well-crafted zones.
Mega Man 2- compare it with any other Mega Man game in the series and you'll see it has generic level design and atrocious design.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time- I just can't have myself dive into 3D Zeldas. The swordplay was awful and it had more tedium that fun overlaid through the whole game. I can't fully judge Majora's Mask yet, I haven't played much into that yet.
Kirby Squeak Squad- It was boring. The copy-ability mixing was heavily underutilized, and it really just felt like Kirby & the Amazing Mirror with a few new abilities.
Metroid Prime- like with OoT, I just don't feel motivated to explore this world: goals are extremely unclear and it just doesn't have the Super Metroid charm to it.
Donkey Kong Country- some of the worst platforming I've ever played.
Super Tennis- pixelman told me this was a great game. Biggest waste of $1 I ever spent.
