Topic: Best Entry In Super Monkey Ball

So I was thinking about getting Super Monkey Ball 3D, but I've been hearing alot of people saying it's terrible, and not as good as the previous entries. So what entry would you recommend? I'd assume that this is one of those heavily debates issues, that boils down to preference more than anything, but I'd like some honest responses. I don't want to start some sort of heated debate or anything like that.

Are the old games still fun, or are they outdated now? Are the new games really that bad? I don't care which console it's for I have a PS2,GC, Wii, 3DS etc. so which ever console has what you think is the best Monkey Ball game is fine by me. I only plan on playing one game in the series, unless the sequels are significantly different, or I really like a series I tend to only play one game in a series because I like to sample as many games as possible to try new things. Thanks in advance.

Super Monkey Ball 2 for GCN is the stuff.

I have SMB 1,2 and 3D and i honestly think 3d is the best with the cool gyroscope controls.

SMB2 for GC. Ignore the horrible story mode though, and accept the occasional insane difficulty spike from nowhere (Arthropod springs to mind)

Monkey Ball 2 is winner.
