@TheThirdComing: So, you'd rather people miss out on one great anime series to watch another, as opposed to watching two great ones? That logic is flawless, sir...
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."
I didn't particularly care for how the series main antagonist, Dante, was developed (Although I think Butou was the best piece in the series soundtrack). Conqueror Of Shamballah was okay, but I thought the end of it was all kinds of messed up.
I just finished Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. First off, I'd like to say that this show was not as bad as I was led to believe. I think 'Guarded Praise' best sums up my feelings for it.
Starting with the visuals, the mech designs were even better than Gundam SEED's - a feat, I'd say, since I held SEED's designs to be the best in the series. The character designs were also as good as ever - Hisashi HIRAI continues to be my favorite character designer. The animation was also fantastic, as far as I could tell. The music was also very good, though not as good as the music in Gundam SEED. Oh, and I should also note that the dub was mostly good...although the dubbed music wasn't so good.
The story I felt was very entertaining. It wasn't anything exceptional, but it held my interest for the majority of its 50 episodes. Most of the characters were alright, and most were developed well enough that I cared for them when they either died or I thought they were gonna die. The beginning and ending were disturbingly similar to Gundam SEED's, but while SEED's beginning was more meaningful, Destiny's ending had more of an impact.
What I didn't like were the blatant references to other Gundam shows, particularly the first Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. Then there's Shinn Asuka - I don't think I've ever hated a character in the entire metaseries as much as this guy, and he's the protagonist. He's a naive fool, through and through - putty in the main villian's hands. On the plus side, though, for once the main villian isn't entirely evil, and I found it difficult to understand why he needed to be stopped. He was actually at least partially in the right, and his thinking always made sense. As far as I know, this is a first for the series, and something that I felt it really needed.
In the end, I really liked this one. It's not exactly top material - it made too many references for its own good, and the protagonist annoyed me the whole way through - but it was definitely entertaining and easily recommendable to fans of the first Gundam SEED.
You guys are tempting me into starting up FMA now, but I'm still on a Gundam Kick. Speaking of which:
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray - Not much to say about this one, seeing as it was 15 minutes all together. It was basically meant to entice people into purchasing the model kits and manga. Personally, I'd say it did it's job fairly well. The characters were charming right off the bat, and the action was excellent. The mobile suits were very well shown off. I'm definitely far more interested in the manga now, and I see they're fairly cheap. I might have to get a few volumes.
Also, I'm very happy about the new Gundam series that was announced the other day. Here's the trailer: [youtube:11DecXqdN7o]
Apparently there's also supposed to be another Gundam related announcement on the 25th. I can't wait!
You mean you already haven't!?! Sir,do yourself a favor and fall into temptation! FMA or FMA:B they are both AMAZING animes.(imo, brotherhood more then the first.) FMA:B is my favorite anime ever and always will be no matter what!
I've watched maybe about half of it all together, but I don't really remember any of it. Never saw the whole thing. depending on how I feel when I'm done with Stargazer, maybe I'll give it another shot.
I just started This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, based on a recommendation from a user here, and from an AMV I favorited on Youtube. So far, it seems like it has a lot of potential. I like the characters a lot, the love story aspect isn't as sappy as I expected, and the action was cool, if a bit sparse. The story seems pretty mysterious right now, it could turn out to be very interesting. Really, I can't wait to watch more of it. I might marathon it tomorrow until I finish it.

I watched that last week and quite enjoyed it. I do think it would've been better at 26 episodes rather than 13, but it was still good.
Moved on to Aquarian Age now, which I'm liking very much.

I disagree, I thought its length worked perfectly for the story it was trying to tell.
Anyways, yesterday I finished off This Ugly Yet Beautiful World. To put it quite simply I enjoyed practically every minute of it. The story wasn't stupendous, but I loved the characters, especially Hikari - she finds joy in so many little things about the world that we take for granted. The art and music was great as well, particularly the main theme, "Metamorphose." And the ending, without spoiling too much, was bittersweet - my second favorite type of ending after tragic endings.
And slightly off-topic, but I had a dream last night where I talked to a girl for a long time about this show. She got really interested when I told her it was made by Gainax, makers of Evangelion. Then I managed to convince her to come over to my house to watch Gunbuster! Now there's a fantasy I wish would come true! Screw all my usually cartoony/Gamey dreams!
BTW, which of these should I watch first:
After War Gundam X (already a third of the way through)
I haven't watched anime in so long! D: Ok,it's been about a month, maybe more. If anyone was keeping up with Fairy Tail and Digimon Xros wars can you tell me how many episodes I missed? I'm planning I getting caught up soon. Maybe after I beat OOT 3D.
I spent a few hours of my Sunday watching select One Piece episodes. Good times...

Any other guys here who love Card Captor Sakura.? ._. ...
@Cryptonic I think there was one, but it's long gone buried under a bunch of other threads now. (if there isn't one I must be thinking of the book thread.)
I just recently started to wacth a sub fro Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. It's surprisingly a very good show. It's only 13 episodes long, but it's a near certainty that it'll get a second season (see the last episode's mind explosion)
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.
After War Gundam X (already a third of the way through)
Escaflowne (had a feeling for it earlier)
Eureka Seven (expiring soon)
FullMetal Alchemist
Definitely Eureka 7.
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
