I just finished watching Fooly Cooly minutes ago! Man it was GREAT! Most of the time I had no idea what was happening, but it was so much fun. The ending was beautiful. I was entertained the whole time. I seriously love this thing now. Definitely going on on my top favorite anime list. (for now anyways)

Yeah... trust me, FLCL is just one of those anime that has the power to change someone's life (like mine) and I loved every bit of this dub, which is absolutely incredible.

I understand what you're saying! I can easily see how it will change someones life. (good ways and bad ways XD) I honestly didn't like the dub at all when I saw the first episode, but it grew on me so fast I don't care if I'm watching the dub or subs I can still enjoy the anime. It's just so freaking great! X3
I read the Manga, though the Anime is actually better from what I've seen. The Manga's a lot slower. It was a very interesting read regardless, though it was quite weird at times.
I think that is exactly why the manga appealed to me. It was a departure from all the fast pace that is typical in most manga nowadays. I found the laid back nature of the manga of Black Butler to be really pleasant and I liked the simplicity of the story and the baroque feeling of some of the environments. Black Butler reminds me a lot of the feeling that Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland invokes.

Just seen Deadman Wonderland. Wow that was terrible. It's a dark-and-edgy anime in much the same way that Saw is a scary horror film - it just /isn't/, by virtue of the fact that it slaps on the gore so thick and fast that it manages to be neither scary nor particularly entertaining. "Should we develop the plot some mor- NO, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS. LITERALLY. AGAIN. FOR THE SIXTH TIME IN AS MANY MINUTES. HAHA LOOK HE EXPLODED HAHAHA." I got the distinct impression the entire show had been written by a 12-year-old who'd just played Grand Theft Auto for the first time with all the weapons cheats on. And to be honest, I suspect that's the show's real demographic. As Yahtzee once put it, "explaining how you made a man's head explode is a good way to make friends in the playground, but a good way to lose them around the office watercooler." It's wall-to-wall gore (often literally) with the thinnest of plots to string it together (itself full of gaping great holes) and little else to hold it up.

I guess that means you like it so far. Good to hear it. How far in are you? I stopped after the murder mystery arc (guess I got a lot of catching up to do).

And then I watched another few episodes and suddenly it's not bad. Sort of like watching a trashy late-night horror film. Don't know whether to be relieved or disappointed that I don't have to watch any more of it. Eh, well. On to Nabiri No Ou.
I finally got King of Eden (there was a mix up in the mail or something >_>)! I'm going to finish re-watching the series first. I shall tell you what I think of it, Sushi!

Haha, awesome. I watched it the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it
Edit: Just watched first ep of Nabiri, very enjoyable. It's very Fullmetal Alchemist (focus on story, great action scenes and a light sprinkling of humour) and pretty much exactly what I wanted to watch, haha. I smell an archive binge coming on.

I'm on episode four Mickeymac. Could you guys tell me why hulu only has four episodes of Black Butler? It's a bit puzzling. I've got to say that Funimation has done a splendid job with the English dubb for Black Butler.
If someone were to ask me to sum up Black Butler in five simple words then here it is: Victorian. Ethereal. Surreal. Beautiful. Baroque.
That is how I see Black Butler through my Stained Glass Marquette.

@TokyoRed: If you like it for those reasons, you should check out Pandora Hearts! It's even full of Alice in Wonderland references.
@Sushi: Ahh, I see! Speaking of that, I looked around your site and it's really awesome! It has a lot of potential. I'd sign up for a writing position but I'm not sure I'd be good at it. I'm a writer, but all my experience is with writing novels...

A Little help here please. Why is it that Hulu and the other video sites have only four episodes from Black Butler? I thought the show starting airing last year in North America and Europe. Shouldn't there be more episodes of Black Butler online?
@Popyman, thanks I'll look up Pandora's Hearts right away. BTW it seems as if I read book one of that manga the other day in the Alice in Wonderland section of Barnes and Noble.

They just don't have everything. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but most of what Hulu does have is only up for a certain amount of time before being taken off. If you really want to watch it for free (in legal means) try looking on Funimation's site or sign up for a free month of Netflix (Black Butler and a LOT of other anime are up on the instant stream).

Thanks Popyman. BTW it wasn't Pandora Hearts I was reading but Alice in the Country of Hearts.
Blast, it's a heartbreaking shame that TokyoPop is closing their doors. What's going to happen to all their manga? Will stuff like Alice in the County of Hearts get canceled? I was just getting into manga by TokyoPop like StarCraft, Undertown and Alice in the Country of Hearts. What's going to happen?

Haha, thankyou! If you want to give writing a shot, then fill out the form on the Jobs page. If you're a regular writer then you could be good for the team... sounds like you're more experienced than I am, haha.
@TokyoRed: Have you tried Crunchyroll? Might be available on there.
