Can anyone suggest some good series that are on Netflix? I've been a fan of Miyazaki's films for a long time but haven't seen much besides for Naruto. However, I just recently watched Claymore and Last Exile and loved both, any suggestions? Preferably dubbed.
No, the thing I was getting at was that the image was from the official preview of the 14 ^th^ episode of Digimon Xros Wars: Young Hunters, the most recent iteration of Digimon. What that image means is that the main leads from every prior season will be showing up in the next episodes. That, to me, just makes my heart bring itself to the verge of death-by-fandom territory.

Okay, now I'm excited. And I don't even watch Xros Wars. Kinda sad that dick from season 5 is back, though.
Does it actually say they'll show up as important characters? It could just be cameos. The first trailers for xros wars teased the Digimon from Adventure 1 and 02 would show up but they didn't even cameo. Also..what? New Digimon already? I still need to finish xros wars! D: I'm on ep 30 something.
@Mickeymac Punching Digimon in the face doesn't make him a dick!

This is kind of a problem. I'm assuming you don't know what genres you like since you haven't seen much. And unfortunately, there's a lot of crap on Netflix last I checked, too. Unfortunately, I don't have Netflix anymore, either, but I can see part of there selection online, so I'll start there:
Trigun - Sci-fi Western Action Comedy that's really fun to watch and has a good story once it gets going. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Pretty much the best anime ever made, with standouts in nearly every area. Samurai Champloo - Good Historical Fiction with a lot of attitude and great main characters. Mobile Suit Gundam or alternatively the Movie Trilogy - A classic Mecha series and my favorite show of all time. I've never seen the movies, but they're supposed to be even better, though I've also heard that their pacing is a bit rushed.
Also, for those that need proof that the previous image I posted isn't just a Photoshopped:
(You'll see the image around the 10-12 second mark.)

I just watched my DVD of The disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya and it was excellent and is one of my favourite films now. Its not what I was expecting though as with it being a film I thought it would go into how Haruhi got her powers and other things like that but it was still an awesome film and I hope they make a series 3.

OMG thanks yo, I forgot I needa' go watch this! lolol.
^ If Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is on Netflix, then go watch it. Now.
I know the first 3 vol. are on. I'm not sure if the 4th, final, one is. I'm pretty sure it is.
There's five volumes (64 episodes), unless your volumes are split differently in the US.
I thought there were only 4 parts, but I just checked, and you're right there are 5 parts. Netflix only has parts 1-3 for streaming last I checked, though.

I thought there were only 4 parts too, my bad. Should have checked. At least I was right about 1-3 being on Netflix.
Has anyone seen Working!? Is it any good? Seems like another slice of life anime and I've only heard average things about it. Also what do you guys think of K-on or Higurashi. I love K-on and Higurashi is real crazy. Not the worst thing I've seen.
What I saw of K-On! was enjoyable and cutesy - sometimes got so obsessed with being cutesy it forgot that it was supposed to be being funny - but the plot plodded on a tad too slowly for my tastes. Certainly worth a look if you like your school-days slice-of-life.
Hey guys, I'm thinking of watching something different, and by that I mean not Mecha for once (mostly because at this point I'm just watching the same shows over and over again, including the ones that aren't very good), so I could really use some recommendations. As for what I like and what I don't like, I'll just say that I like most genres, though I'm not in the mood for Mecha (would make things way easier if I were), and I'm not a big fan of romance, though I do enjoy them from time to time. I also don't mind rewatching shows, so it's okay if you list something I've already watched.

All I know is if you loved K-On, you'll probably enjoy Working. I believe it's on CrunchyRoll, right? Everyone I've talked to says they're similar. With that said, I don't watch much SoL, so I can't speak from my own experience.
As for Higurashi, I played the game for 5 minutes, and hated it. But I did watch one of the Anime specials, I believe it was ep. 1 of Kai, and loved it - it was so funny and so crazy!
@Mickeymac I'm not sure if you'll end up enjoying them, but it's not mecha. First I'd recommended Shakugan No Shana. It's got 3 seasons (I believe the 3rd one is still going, but it's on it's last episodes if I'm not mistaken.) and everyone is only 24 episodes + OVA's. It's an action anime and it does involve some romance. There's more fighting and emphasis on story but season 2 puts looots of emphasis on the romance because at the point it starts effecting the plot. There's also some comedy thrown in. The comedy ranges from Japanese to slapstick so maybe you'll laugh at one of the jokes. I got a chuckle out of most. It's really great overall IMO. Second I'd say watch some High School of the Dead if you just want to try something different. I'm guessing you've already seen it, but it's pretty far from mecha so it could be a fun diversion.

Well, I watched half of Highschool of the Dead, then started reading the manga, which I found easier to digest. I never did see the ending, though, so I might get back into it soon.
As for Shakugan no Shana, you make a good arguement for it, and it has been on several of my "To watch" lists for a while now. After watching some trailers and reading up on it a bit more, I see that it's not as crazy as I thought - I was expecting something more along the lines of Hirugashi or Index, two shows I also still need to watch...hm...maybe I'll hold it off until I can watch all 3 of those shows together. Sometime around April, perhaps. Even if they're not as similar as I thought, at the very least, SnS might provide some good contrast.
I'm in the same situation with High School of the Dead. I still haven't finished it to this day. I've bean meaning to. I may try to finish it up this week, depending on what we get in the Nintendo download tomorrow.
Shakuagn no Shana isn't that crazy. At least not compared to Higurashi. It gets no where near that insane, the craziest the show gets is right in the beginning actually.Shana seems to take a 'show first, explain later' method so it hits you head on with stuff. I'll admit I was a bit overwhelmed at first but the following episodes do a good job at trying to explain what happened. After that you should be able to follow everying fine. Nothing too over the top. I hear it is similar to Index though. Still need to watch that one too.
