I've been doing stuff for the past 7 years! I welcome back one of my favorite pass times. I've stepped in hardcore as I've missed a lot in the last 7 years. Also I have ponyo in my Netflix que! Maybe I should give that a whirl here soon!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Man, I can't believe the Blue Exorcist anime is over. It was just getting started.
Anyway, if Hollywood wants to have another Harry Potter style blockbuster series instead of just digging into tried and true worn out American Comics they need to take a serious look at the gold standard of anime in Captain Harlock, The Mystical Archives of Dantalian, Gosick, Voltron, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere and Un-Go as those could make for some rock solid hits at the box office.
unfortunately, I think only complete hacks ever get to make Hollywood live action adaptations of anime (I still hope the upcoming American Death Note movie changes that)
I agree with you. I was really disappointed in the movies Dragon Ball: Evolution, Avatar The Last Airbender and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World although the latter was still a lot better than the former. I think that anime such as Voltron, FLCL, The Magical Archives of Dantalian, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere and Captain Harlock should be adapted by extremely good movie minds such as Sam Raimi, Andrew Adamson, Jerry Bruckheimer, Tim Burton, Andrew Stanton or Michael Apted while keeping epic fails like Michael Bay and M. Night Shyamalan away. I'm not trying to be a smartypants but I do think that Steven Spielberg should also be kept away from anime to movie adaptions.

Oh, well doesn't sound like it's going to happen anytime soon. If it ever does happen I sure hope Zack Effron can pull off Kira. I just can't imagine playing someone as ...demented as him.

I think that Death Note would be a lot better in the hands of someone like Tim Burton, Gil Kenan, Rebert Zemerkis or Gil Kenan.
The reason I don't want someone like M. Night Shyamalan is not because he isn't talented but because of how poorly The Last Airbender was executed. I think that Edgar Wright and Marc Platt of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World would handle an anime like Death Note or FLCL better than Shyamalan did The Last Airbender. If Scott Pilgrim hadn't been overshadowed by the blockbuster sensation of Twilight it would have gotten a lot more acclaim from both the general audience and the news media.

I also think Edgar Wright did a great job with Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but I love and adore the books and games so I guess I'm a bit biased. Either way I think he could do a decent job with a Death Note movie. Oddly enough with all the plot twists Death Note has I think M. Night Shyamalan could actually do an ok job. Although I'd prefer for him not to be anywhere near it in the end too. The twists would be dumb and probably be too over the top to make sense.
@Retro on the Go, I don't really know because I haven't gotten in too deeply with Death Note but I actually agree with you because from the sort of films that Shyamalan has done typically it does stand to reason that he could do very well with Death Note.
I would love for Edgar Wright and Andrew Stanton to work collaboratively on a FLCL movie.
So what anime are you currently watching?

Naruto Shippuden (which I have been watching since the first series dub debuted) One Piece (which I have been watching since 2006 and the dvds since they started coming out) Hunter X Hunter 2011 Death Note (I had to forget about enough plot twist spoilers before watching it...still know the big plot twist and how it ends though) Air (kinda bad, but it's short so whatever) Detective Conan (aka the best anime ever, no hyperbole, you should be watching it instead of reading this) Hetalia (funny, but not enough that I want to watch the 2nd series anytime soon)
I haven't been watching anime recently. Too many video games and school. I still watch Lucky Star and K-on for a casual brake, but I plan to actually start Blue Exorcis and some other animes. Then catch up on old ones like Fairy Tail and Letter Bee.

Yes, all I can do now is study math during the day and catch up on a few anime and CN shows at night before bed thanks to CrunchyRoll and iTunes.
Currently, I'm watching FLCL, Heroman, Horizon in The Middle of Nowhere, Mystical Archives of Dantalia and I'm waiting for Un-Go to become free on CrunchyRoll.com.
@kkslider5552000, I like the Naruto Shippuden but I'm just a bit put off with Bleach and Naruto because sometimes they seem a bit redundant. I have totally given up on Bleach but I still like Naruto although One Piece is my all time favorite.

yeah Naruto has been just typical shonen mixed with typical Naruto since like season 4 or 5 of the first series. Which made the Hidan and Kakuzu arc better by comparison since it's so simple a story.

Sasuke was spectacular before he went to the dark side! I miss the old Sasuke.

Naruto - At the moment its just filler after filler but at least its not as bad as the fillers in Bleach. Bleach - I'm not sure why I'm still watching this. I think its partly because I want see just how bad that really repetitive part that Supersushilax mentioned is as I don't think I'm far from it. The last episode I saw was only slightly worth watching because of how funny the interactions between keigo, his sister and the shinigami that are staying with them are and because of how awesome a villain Ichimaru is even though he's just a sidekick now. I would say he deserves to be in a better anime but then it would be a shame if he wasn't there when Bleach actually was good. Reborn - I'm on the arc where they have to get back to the present now and I'm still thoroughly enjoying it and its still my fave anime. Bakuman - I just finished watching series 1 which was pretty good and conveniently series 2 recently started so I'll start watching that soon. Hetalia: axis powers - This is so funny, one of the best moments I recently saw was when England was trying to do black magic.
