And so, the undertones-of-Yaoi anime of the season(No. 6) comes to an end. What did I think of it besides the always ever-present "PLEASE DON'T LET ME EVER SEE ANY FAN-FICTION OF THIS!!!" notion?
It was great until I realized that the show was only 11 episodes long.
Here's the thing with No. 6; at the end of the 10 th episode the show has already set up some huge plot-points that could make the series rise above from the standard herd of anime. The problem that arises with those plot-points is that they couldn't all be resolved in just one episode without completely throwing on somewhat slapped-on conclusions from 10 feet away. And the sad part about that analogy is that's what happens; the major plot-points are rushed and everything just falls apart because of it. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed in the series. If there ever is a "Director's Cut" of this anime that added two or three episodes to the series and allowed those plot-points to be end properly, I would gladly buy it and be proud of owning it. However, right now my hopes are a bit too broken to support the series.

I saw Angel beats yesterday. Seems interesting and I enjoyed the comedic bits. The whole concept seems cool, but I didn't get it right away. I may or may not watch the second episode. I just don't have time for anime like I use too.
Has anyone seen every episode so far of H.O.T.D.? My cousins found out about it and loved it. I watched the first 3 episodes with them and I remembered how much I use to like the show. It just got ridiculously perverted for me around 6 or 7. I can't remember which one specifically. At first I think 'Ok, cool. Fanservice nice and entertaining' then the show just gets carried away with it and it gets a bit annoying. I stopped watching, but now I feel like finishing it. Is it worth it?
Well I finished Death Note the other day and it was my first series I've watched in about 8 years. It was nice picking up anime again and starting with a good series.
I loved the way this series started and by the end I knew what the outcome should be but for some reason was rooting for the opposite! Light's total disregard for who lives and who doesn't really got to me by the end of the show! Reminded me of a puppet master more then a God! Great series and I think ill move on to Claymore from here.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
“The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.” - "Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them."
I will have to keep that in mind as I'm just watching what's available on Netflix! Trust me I checked and it wasn't there. If its as good as you guys say it is I might have to visit a site online and watch it!
I'm really enjoying Claymore even more so then Death Note! I'm only 10 episodes in and glued! Easily in my top ten now. Can't wait to see where this one goes from here!! Great story and I can't seem to get enough of it. Also watching samurai shamploo since I never finished that series back when it was on the cartoon network. I really love the series as well and a nice diversion from all the medieval from Claymore. I can only take so much seriousness and need a laugh from time to time! Only at around episode 10 there as well but have seen to around episode 15 or 16. Can't remember where I left off years ago so started over at the beginning!
I really missed the anime side of me all these years!!

I finished Durarara!! today, and I'm not quite sure what to think of the last episode. Rest assured, I thought everything before episode 25 was really good, but episode 25 just seems kind-of there for no real reason. It's established at the end of episode 24 that almost everything went back to normal, and the show's not like Baccano! where those last few episodes were needed to hit-home one of the main ideas of the series. Either way, I'm happy I watched Durarara!! and I would still recommend it to almost everyone.

episode 25 is an OVA disguised as a series finale, from what I heard
as I didn't like the other OVA, I didn't even bother with that one after I heard about it
Since im new here, I figure i'll say my piece on Anime ( even though I usually read Manga and skip the anime, so keep in mind, it's really likely I probably mean the manga version when I refer to a series here ).
I can't get into them if there isn't even the smallest amount of humor. If it's super serious hard core in your face all day all the time, like code Gease, it's likely im just going to get bored with it really quickly and develop no attachment whatsoever to any of the characters, it's just like my friends, I could never be friends with someone who doesn't have a sense of humor.
That said, I really love the comedy genre, which is a shame, because there are very little anime that actually have comedy as it's central focus. It usually acompanies the Shonen, and slice of life genres. So here's the ones I do like for comedy: Ninja Nonsense, Ghost Stories ( the humorous Dub version ), Sgt. Frog, Shin Chan, Lucky Star, Yotsuba&!, Azumanga Daioh, Dr. Slump, Soul Eater ( especially where Excalibut is concerned ), and Midori Days.
I know some people probably give a lot of flak to the genre, but I often find myself loving the shonen genre too. Shaman King, and One Piece are my favorites. Dragonball was good up until they finished off Freeza, despite this, Akira Toriyama is my favorite author for his work on Dr. Slump, SandLand, and so on, not to mention his beautiful art style, true he only knows six faces, but think more about his scenery and non-human characters . I'm not too fond of Bleach or Naruto, though I try. Yu-Yu Hakusho isn't bad either if you can get past it's ... retro... art style.
Not a fan of Romance at all, probably because I can't really relate to it at all, being single and gay and all. Despite that, Midori days is one of my favorite manga of all time... though it's more comedy than romance, or maybe it's equal. ( plus there is one character that does do something for my gay-side c: ) ...I have been too shy to buy them shonen ai books, but I finally bought one the other day. I forget the title though. I don't want to get into that here though ( not that it was really graphic or anything. )
I don't know if this counts as Shonen, action, or what, but GON is the story of a little Dinosaur, some may know best for his cameo in Tekken, and it's cast are all, somewhat realistically drawn Animals, and all the stories are told entirely through the beautiful art. No dialogue. All very nature centric. It can also be pretty funny at times. Anyone who appreciates really really detailed artwork should look into it. ...there be another one I don't know how to classify called +Anima. It's really calm and laid back, but you really connect with the characters, who are three kids and one tall teenager with weird Animal Powers.
All in all, if I had to rank my favorite series... my top 5 are... hmmm
Yeah, I've been reading things about how Code Geass is great, but all I see is teens in mechs. That's not exactly a bad thing, mind, but it doesn't look like some extremely epic tale of grand proportions.

Never seen Code Geass. Actually, I need some help with a recommendation. I only have enough money to buy either Chobits, Berserk, Escaflowne, or Revolutionary Girl Utena's Black Rose Saga (it's pretty damned expensive on amazon). So which one should I get if any? I've heard good things about Escaflowne and nothing but praise for Utena, but with only $30 for anime, which would be the best buy?
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.
This. I thrive on the tears of people saying it's unrealistic, filled with plotholes. It's simply awesome entertainment, and hilarious at that. I'm not sure if the creators realise that. Euphie massacring Elevens has got to be the funniest thing in anime, ever.
Yeah, I'd go with Berserk if I were you. It's a very interesting tale with some great action, and Guts is the MAN.
