@redd214 " I can't stand being around people that are always negative or complaining or finding the downside in everything. "
And yet you frequent Nintendo life... Interesting.
Edit: fake positivity it's just that, though. Fake. Deceit. Lies. and worse in this case, jubilant, bubbly forced excitement that's transparently a display rather than reality. Meanwhile the dev from the Berlin based Indy was very very unprepared for a stage, but nobody could claim her enthusiasm was anything but genuine.
@Dezzy anthem was always stated to be about the "shared world" do online was always going to be a requirement.... Really for anything ea. It's claim to fame seems to be that it's not an mmo but is a story driven game in the town's and mmo in the field.... But.... Isn't elder scrolls online already a story driven mmo?
What I find funny about EA's presentation, was that they got us more excited for a random indie no one has heard of that they announced is coming out today, rather than their one big game "anthem". EA is hilarious. Unravel two was the peak of their show somehow.
So, EA's conference can be summed up as a waste of bandwidth for me. Welp...
At least I watched it with a friend and we joked about everything about the usual EA stuff. Cringe, cringe everywhere! Sports sports sports sports, sportsball everywhere! Gameplay? What's that? Let's distract you from the glamour and pizzaz with these indie games! Sports! Battlefield! There was so little substance with their conference, it was so awful.
Anthem looks fine at least. But I am not terribly hyped for that game, which is a shame since it looks extremely well-polished right now. Bah, whatever.
Unravel 2 and Sea of Solitude actually looks pretty decent though. I'm all for indie developers being able to see their vision come to life. That part was the highlight for me.
It's why instead of giving EA a 0/10, I'll give them a 2/10 only for those two indie games.
While everyone else seems to learn from previous E3 conferences, EA seems to do the same thing every year. Only this time they had a female host for all of about 2 minutes at the start and then again at the end.

@redd214 This weird tendency some people have of being incessantly, evangelically negative about almost everything is irritating. Not that people being negative online is anything new, but I've noticed this patronizing attitude in gaming communities, in particular, where you're labeled a "fanboy" if you don't leap aboard whatever thing people in the community have decided to be angry about. The musk of condescension is always strong with these people.
If someone wants to be incessantly, obnoxiously, apocalyptically negative about anything, that's their right. But nothing annoys me more than people explaining how I'm not a "true fan" of something if I'm not looking for flaws and tearing it apart. Gaming is a hobby for me, and I don't engage in a hobby just so I can get angry about stuff. And if I'm enjoying something and don't notice or care about the supposed flaws in it, I'm not going to try and conceptually deconstruct my experience with it just to appease some angry nerd on the internet.

@FragRed Whether Microsoft has learned is debatable. The past few years have been the same thing repeated, a lack of 1st party games and delays for already known ones. With the delay of Crackdown 3 to 2019 already confirmed, it sounds like this year will be no different.
But we'll find out for real in 20 hours (I think it's 20?).
I am unironically looking forward to Microsoft, though. I'm really interested to see their conference, since this year's conference will really paint a solid picture on how the rest of the Xbox One's life will go.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
@FragRed . Last year they had Jade Raymond anchor the bf2 bit..... That was the only competent ea segment in years. Given how bf2 went, no doubt she's regretting that now. . The dice guy looked petrified.
Unravel was the high point..bf5 went well. Madden consisting of a Stealer and an esports winner was awkward beyond imagining. Nothing makes esports look worse then putting their players on stage with actual pro athletes.
@Haru17 no, women are women. That was an annoying harpy. They are not (usually) the same thing.
Edit:. On second thought, maybe shes Mr. Caffeines sister.
God you're a disgusting sexist. Andrea Rene is a journalist who's been in the industry for years. They hired her for the event because she's a Bioware fan. Try not being a terrible person about it.
