It was actually less boring than usual though with less cringe. 50% cringe, 50% decent.
Host was obnoxious though. The indie presenter want quite prepared for a stage but was likable enough. Espots was cringe as always. Bioware panel was excellent minus said obnoxious host. Soderlund and Wilson are less fun than watching paint dry but kept it brief.
@Grumblevolcano it's literally like big planet. It's even made if yarn. But maybe a better solo campaign.
Hmmm well I love sci-fi, I love open world games, I love third person shooters, and yet Anthem still feels completely generic and uninteresting to me.
I think their claim that it's a story-driven game is probably just a lie. There's no indication of that at all from what we've seen so far. Which makes you wonder why it's Bioware making it. Why are they being used for things other than what they used to be renowned for? Why did EA buy them if not to make story-driven games?
Because they're more bodies for the grinder, I'd wager. EA needed more coders, so they brought a big team they weren't going to use otherwise. Wouldn't be surprised if this was Bioware's last game, even if it does perform well.
@Anti-Matter
Sims 4 got snow and rain (seasons) so I guess it could be called Human Crossing.
Battlefield V showed off some snow.
Fifa has a new rain feature in games.
Dice (not EA ofc) apologised for Star Wars Battlefront2. Anakin has been confirmed to bring bellends to the force in the next update.
Speaking of which, Sea of Solitude looked very nice, as did Unravel.
Some NFL bloke was talking to some bloke.
Anthem looked huge budget but lacking creativity.
And finally, EA ruined Command and Conquer.
@Anti-Matter you know, i watched the whole conference and didn't even notice sims4 mentioned. If they did they kind of car through it as fast as possible in the first 4 minutes i missed while trying to get sound working
Well this didn't make Anthem seem any more interesting either. "Always online" apparently. That definitely means not story driven.
@NEStalgia
She's Andrea Rene from What's Good Games and Kinda Funny. She's an alright dude. Her channel is fairly good. She does give off that impression like she's putting on her excitement most of the time. That's a really common thing in some parts of California though. I had a girlfriend around San Francisco once. She had that kind of fake positivity all the time. And I'm like hello I was born in Scotland where no-one has been positive for millenia. It was genuinely like communicating with someone in a different language. I must have said "stop calling really trivial things 'totally awesome' " about 1000 times over the 2 year relationship.
@Tsurii oh, that explains it. I tuned in for the actual show. And got Ms. Caffeine. I don't hate myself enough to watch an ea pre-show. That's just sadistic.
@Dezzy how did i guess she was an "influencer"/personally? That faux excitement may be normal in The Land of Fruits and Nuts, but it's as genuine as pleather and tooth gnashingly grating everywhere else.
"You've got fake positivity. I've got a totally awesome 12x stiletto. Wanna see it?!"
Aisha was annoying to some but was at least professionally humorous with impeccable delivery. I liked her e3 shows. Andrea seems like few, haru excepted, wouldn't find her annoying.
I dunno "fake positivity" sounds more appealing than realistic negativity lol. I can't stand being around people that are always negative or complaining or finding the downside in everything. Crappy way to live imo. I thought Andrea did fine, not the best
Anyways, EA didn't show much that interested me, only thing I'm excited about is Anthem. Always online doesn't really make a difference to me personally. Was really hoping for a new Garden Warfare game though!
