My sympathies are with you Machu, b*llocks to football I say, MH3 tomorrow night?

Or perhaps the England players should stop aimlessly hoofing the ball forward after making three passes?

To be fair , thats utter tosh , we never made three passes , as the 2nd one normally went to the Algerians !!!!!

ENGLAND WERE UTTER S***!! One of the most dissappointing performances I've ever seen. We were out passed and out played by a team, that with all respect ,we should be walloping. Disgraceful. Not happy with Rooneys comment after the match either. These 'Loyal' fans have travelled half way across the world and probably borrowed money to come and support their team. They also wanted to be entertained. Pffft....no chance of that.If we had played our hearts out and lost there would have been no booing, it was the spirit that was no where to be seen that caused the Boos Mr.Rooney.NOT HAPPY F****** pre-maddonas the lot of em'! And @Cappello Will you drop Hesky for funks sake!!! We need to score on Wednesday and that geezer couldn't score in a brothel.
EDIT Well done USA BTW, you deserve to get through and I hope you do!

What did Rooney say after that match?

"Nice to see your own fans booing you, that's what loyal support is".

That was all that Rooney said, I don't know what the fuss is about. I shouted much worse at the telly when the cameras started to pick out England 'fans' booing their own team. I'm with Rooney. I don't care what the situation is, you never boo your own team. I would never boo United, I would never boo England. When your team are down, that is when they need your support the most. By booing, you are only making things worse. And anyway, how can you boo someone one match then cheer them on the next. I can't f***ing stand it, never have.

The England team should be ashamed, as should the idiotic fans in the crowd who boo'd.

We're still in it, and if we beat Slovenia, those idiots will soon change their tune.

It was the performance they were booing though not any individuals. They have every right to boo when they follow there team through thick and thin around the world and they play like they have so far this tournament. There was a complete lack of heart and spirit in both games. There apathy was untrue,do they not realise how priviliged they are to be representing their country on a world stage?I couldn't give a toss if they had lost 4-0 if they had shown some willing in their play and looked like they actually gave a F***. Passion in football comes out in all sorts of ways, can you really blame the fans if they feel slightly agreived?

What's this bit for again?

Machu

I hear ya buddy. I don't disagree with fans who are disappointed in the player's performance and them showing a complete lack of desire to play for their country, as I too am one of those fans. It's confusing and upsetting. But, I would never boo my own team, NEVER. It is counter-productive and may actually do more harm than good. On the rare occasion United fans start booing I want to go axe happy in the section of crowd responsible. Same goes for when I'm watching England. It's not on.

But anyway...

Come on Japan!!!

I can understand Rooney's frustrations, especially when he has to play with such poor players like Heskey, Johnson and Lennon. I like what Rooney said it shows that he cares and is disappointed with the result. I wish Beckham was fit so we would have two players with that kind of skill and passion. I'm sick of watching Gerrard and Lampard messing things up for each other. At least our defence was better and James looked confident. Shame Carragher will miss the next match. By the way the Ref was awful in that match.

I enjoyed watching Rooney's reaction too, so much so I watched it ten times. If I'd been him I would have said much worse. P'd off to see some sections of the media calling for Rooney to apologise. Don't do it lad!!!

I'm feeling more positive today, changes will be forced upon the team and we may find something we've been unable to as yet. The 'fans' can boo all they want, if and when England get knocked out, but for now, they should shad up!! >:[

Watching Holland be as dull and lifeless as we were last night, is helping, slightly.

edit: And Holland score. :/

Holland in the lead! This is 5th time I turned on the TV only to have someone score a goal in +/- 2minutes, I must be "pe quente" (I don't know the translation in English)

I thought there was a hand-ball and now after seeing the replay of Nethrlands goal, it totally was an intentional hand-ball by Van-Persie. They got away with it, and thats probably gonna be the winning goal... lame.

I think they have every right to boo the over paid so called Premiership superstars, make you wonder what people say is true the English players and league are as only as good as the foreigners that play in it.. You saw from the USA and Algeria and many other smaller teams in the world cup they we going for it with everything they had to win completely lacking within the English side.

Axe the lot of them give the English shirt to players that care they talk the honour of playing for the country they dont show it on the field.

Im also sick of every time they go on about the manager of the English side, I mean how many managers do we have to go through before we question the players on the field seems to me time and time again they are the issue.

Never been a great fan of david beckham but hes the only one out of that side who ever played with any passion.

The way Slovenia Played against the USA i think its very much if we win i dont see it lucky to get a draw hope to be proved wrong.

So let's think about this....
Ghana beat Serbia.
Serbia beat Germany.
Germany beat Australia 4-0.
So Ghana playing Australia ends in.....? (sorry Australians!)

@dangermouseuk78: If the 'fans' want to boo and it makes them feel better, then fine. I though, could not and will not, ever.

I don't wanna discuss it any further, it's just another boring round of forum-based-opinion-tennis that never goes anywhere.

Up The Aussies!! Win it for Aviator!!!

I agree with Machu, if you really are behind your team 100%, you don't boo them off the field. Even if they played their worst, you applaud them for their effort and cheer them on for next game. Remember , they are representing your country. If you disrespect them, you are disrespecting your country.

On a side note, way to take advantage of the goalies mistake Aussies. Kingson; the new Greene?
Hoping Australia wins this one.

Its because of the fans that Rooney and all English soccer players are rich "superstars". If fans are disappointed at the play of their team, they should boo. This is about national pride, not about individual's feelings. Rooney needs to stop being a baby (if he was speaking sarcastically) and maybe try scoring a goal; there's no passion from this English team, they're the most talented team in Group C yet they only have 2pts and 1 goal.

I do understand that cheering your team on acts as an "extra man" of moral support and cheers are more beneficial to a team than boos (hence one aspect of home-field advantage) but that isn't an obligation of fans. The fans are only reflecting the play of the English; you want to be cheered? You need to earn it, showing up isn't enough.
