@antdickens Do you support Edge as a browser? I ask because as of lately I do not get the visualization of videos (I think it is only videos) on the sites (NL/PS).
I get a black rectangle and that is it I can't click on it. This is only on updated Edge.
I get it on all articles (in the body, I think in the comments and in the forums it is ok).
@Zuljaras just tried using Edge via VPN (your country) and used your account and all was fine. Therefore can you get a screenshot of the Edge javascript console? [email protected]
@antdickens Done. I have sent all the info. I get "cdn.cookielaw.org/consent/0190ae7f-4179-78e1-a985-e342a667793b/0190ae7f-4179-78e1-a985-e342a667793b.json:1 Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT" error. But as I said it only affects YouTube videos in the body of the articles. Very weird stuff! On Chrome I do not get that issue
@Zuljaras@antdickens
I was able to identify that Edge's privacy settings may be the cause of this, and there may be a bug on Nintendo Life's side when an article features multiple YouTube embeds (such as this one)
In Edge's settings, under Privacy, search, and services, check if Tracking Prevention has been set to "Strict". This setting appears to be blocking the first YouTube embed in a given article from loading, likely due to a JS script from cookielaw not being allowed to load.
(I would assume that if the cookie privacy / consent mechanism cannot load, that all YouTube embeds should be blocked instead of only the first?)
Changing the setting to "Balanced" will work without needing to confirm any privacy choices with the Game Network One Trust consent management UI (accessible through the bottom-right icon on the webpage).
Also, bonus bug! There's a funky tooltip message on mouse-over just above the Nintendo Life logo, that shows HTML code for an SVG tag.
@RupeeClock@Zuljaras there is the problem then strange that it would block something that is a cookie consent system... you wouldn't usually block that as a "tracker". I'll make the team aware on our side who manage the consent platform and see if there is a suitable fix or change we can make.
As for the tooltip bug, thanks — that has been fixed!
@antdickens I assume this means that the "How would you rate" articles are just a reminder, and not actually the moment voting is open.
In which case, then my suggestion is to wait a couple of weeks rather than 3 days to publish said articles (and subsequent list updates), as I assume those are what drive a large majority of the votes.
I have to agree with @BrazillianCara, I think those articles just encourage people to make snap ratings before they've played the game enough to form a proper opinion (if they've played it at all).
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
