So there are alot of people who would argue DSiWare's failure as a download platform and that it is the weakest of all the shop platforms. I however continue t live under the delusion that it is a stellar download service with a ton of really great games on offer that are really worth playing. So, in this thread list your top 10 favorite DSiWare games (even though there are so many more good ones than that!) Mine are:
1: Shantae: Risky's Revenge 2: Art Style: Base 10 3: Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again 4: Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon 5: Trajectile 6: Pop Island 7: AiRace 8: Aura-Aura Climber 9: Art Style: Digidrive 10: DodoGo!
Again, very difficult to pick just 10! So, what are your favorites?
NOTE: This thread refers to DSiWare that is not free. Therefore Flipnote Studio and the Web Browser don't count. Other apps however such as Art Academy do.
just go into dowloading so dont have much i think many people think the download is a joke compair to the psp cause over on the psp you can download a lot of ps1 games into the psp... too bad nintendo did do NES game into the DSI would be wicked to play FF1 on the dsi
but to the main point of the games i played and liked (only download 9 so far)
1. crystal monsters 2... zenonia 3. alphabounce 4 number battle
5 telegraph sudoku
sadly biggest waste was elemental masters fun game but 800 was way too much..... too bad nintendo doesnt allow free dowloads for the first few levels but then again we wouldnt waste our cash on junk thinking its good LOL
In no particular order: Aura-Aura Climber Bejeweled Twist Trajectile X-Scape Number Battle Starship Defense Cave Story A Kappa's Trail AlphaBounce Planet Puzzle League Express
Art Style Boxlife Tetris Party Live Aura Aura Climber Trajectile Art Style Pictobits Flametail Advanced Circuits Glow Artisan Go Series Defense Wars Army Defender
Here's mine, in classic descending order for extra suspense. And someone, please read it, cuz it took me about 20 minutes to type this all up.
10. Asphalt 4- My first and only racing download, it was pretty good when I first bought it, if a bit repetitive.
9. Escapee GO!- The stealth gameplay and cool graphics kept me coming back to the game time and time again for a short burst of play. A lack of explanation of who the main character is or why she's running away was a bit disappointing, however.
8. Mario vs. DK MMA- A pretty good game that was pretty addicting when I first got it. I never got into the editor much, however.
7. Number Battle- A ridiculously addicting puzzle/board game that even had my family addicted for a time. Its value is incredible.
6. A Kappa's Trail- Another game with quite a bit of content for its price (5 bucks!), as it not only contains the main game, but 3 mini-games, a sound test, and a picture gallery. My only gripe is its rather uneven difficulty.
5. Starship Defense- The simplicity of this game does not describe how unique and addictive this game is. It's a well-crafted game that I can only find one fault with: Its slightly uneven (and often extreme) difficulty.
4. Shantae Risk's Revenge- A great platformer with quite a difficulty. The incredibly beautiful graphics and non-linear, metroid-y gameplay are just some of the things I found great with the game.
3. Aura-Aura Climber- An excellent game for a mere 2 bucks, it contains some of the most addictive arcade-like action I've played in awhile. Plus, there's achievements and awards to hunt down!
2. X-Scape- I guess I'm either a sci-fi nut or a big retro fan, but this game managed to keep my attention throughout, something that rarely happens with video games for me these days (though it may be because the game was relatively short). It's just such a stylish, yet simple game that's so full of AWESOME.
1. Thorium Wars- This will ALWAYS be #1 on my list because of how much fun I had with the game. It's incredible how much they managed to put into a download title (though by today's standards it's not too amazing). It was among the first DSiWare titles (I believe) to include not only the 5+ hour main game, but a 3D model gallery, a sound test, AND a video gallery.
Cave Story Shantae: RR DodoGo! Art Style: Pictobits Mighty Flip Champs Tetris Party Live Pinball Pulse: TAB Art Style: Box Life Aura-Aura Climber Frenzic
Asphalt 4- Seems like I had to wait forever to make this my first download from the shop. Spent the next few months quick racing this one to death.
Bomberman- First bomberman game that I still can't get enough of.
Rayman- First Rayman game. Some of the items you have to collect are way to hard to figure out how to get to.
Starship Defense- Not in love with TD games, but this is truly one of the best in the shop.
Sodoku- What, "I like Sudoku"! It great how you can put in your puzzles from the web.
VT Tennis- Tennis too. Touch screen control work well.
Bookworm Had a high score of 18M+ going until I had to send my DSi in to be repair and misplace my SD card.
Alice N Woderland: Zombie BBQ- Waited about a year or so for this one to get released in the US shop. Now I can satisfy my zombie kills needs on the go.
Game & Watch: Donkey Kong Jr.- Probably would be number one on my "top nostalgic games of all time" list!
Wild card pick "Pop Island"- Enjoyed this one, but really need online play as I've yet to play my first multiplayer match.
I Read yours and Cheapo's just to make your efforts worthwhile.
Whoops! Not able to edit my post for some reason, but I meant to put Little Red Riding Hood and not Alice n Wonderland. I have no idea how I manage to confuse the two because it not like they have anything in common or available for Wiiware.
1.-Shantae: Risky's Revenge 2.- Cave Story 3.- Mighty Flip Champs! 4.- Dark Void Zero 5.- Aura - Aura Climber 6.- Dragon Quest Wars 7.- Boxlife 8.- Face Pilot 9.- Save the turtles 10.- Rayman
Aura Aura Climber 3D Space Tank (the European title for X-Scape) Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again Dodogo Dark Void Zero Mighty Flip Champs Face Pilot Chronos Twins Soul Of Darkness Castle Of Magic Game & Watch Series: Mario's Cement Factory Foto Face (good for a quick laugh) Foto Dojo (likewise)
Wish they'd hurry up and releaase Shantae: Risky's Revenge in Europe I think DSiWare is a great little service if people give it a chance though, plenty of stuff to really like on there. With regards to PS1 games being available on the PSP...I just don't feel that many games like that are suited to 'gaming on the go', and games that I've already played to death and completed about 10-15 years ago don't really appeal to me in the same way anymore, though I suppose they're better for newer players.
10.airace tunnel:good small game to waste a couple of minutes 9:american popstar: surprised at how good this is 8.x-scape:good game of what i played maybe go back and do what i left out 7.mario vs dk: good game and all plenty to do 6.escapee go: my fav 200 point game it reminds me of a fun addicting game 5.scrabble:its scrabble lol 4.soul of darkness:a good adventure type of game it was fun but the last boss was challenging 3.shantae: really good music and all and im stuck on the last boss(tips?) 2.pictobits: awesome! i really like the classic mario and other nes puzzles and music 1.cave story:i had so much fun but i cant find where curly is (after she was in that water room and you left her there)!
