Topic: Who's getting Heart Gold/Soul Silver?

I don't know yet, this are all the differences and exclusive Pokémon for each version:

I'm getting the one with Bulbasaur, but I can't find anything on how to get him. From what I've read, it only says "Receive from Professor Oak". Does this mean I can get him from the start (which would be totally awesome)?

EDIT: To answer my own question with a quote from another forum:
"The first eight badges are from the leaders in Johto, and the second eight are from the leaders in Kanto. Just like in Gold, Silver, & Crystal. And yes, if you get all sixteen badges and defeat Red, you can choose one of the Kanto starters to receive from Professor Oak, and one of the Hoenn starters to receive from Steven Stone. "
So it's not from the start, only when the game is finished (as far as I can tell) . Mmm, maybe I should get Pokemon Leaf Green instead.
