Why can't I mention those games, exactly? Other than Thorium Wars already, Mario vs. DK, MFC. Asphalt, and maybe precipice. Oh, and Flipnote, of course.
Something you can keep coming back to? 2-in-1 solitare, or Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam is where it's at.
Something that will last a big chunk of time? Mario vs. Donkey Kong, A little bit of Puzzle League, any of the other Art Style games, or Dragon Quest Wars if you have online.
Do not touch anything from Gameloft. Pop Superstar was passable, but fairly short lived, and nothing else is anything but cheap and nasty knock-offs of other, better games.

Did you just dis the amazingly awesome Ashphalt 4: Elite Racing?

Sorry I'd rather play one of the Need for Speed games. You know, the ones Ashphalt knocked off, only with a tenth of the budget and half the quality?
So far? Brain Challenge, Zengage and Thorium Wars!!! Weird, huh? But I do love them all (in completely weird seperate ways.)
Part of me wanted to say Flipnote Studio really really badly... but honestly... I only played with it for a week and then never really touched it much after that. Got really wrapped up in a few other SD cart games (You'd laugh if you knew which ones...) While I do love scores of other DSiWare games, those 3 above have probably been the most fun and challenging thus far (for me.)

picopict art style i still play today and ive had it since may. its because you need to replay it so u get enough points to unlock the music, mVSdk is very short and dissapointing

Pictopict because I can play it for the shortest amount of time I think, so that's what goes when I need a quick game. I've definitely gotten more than my money's worth out of MFC and MvDK. Flipnote's neat too, but i'm not really that artistic, so I really only played with it a bit though. Probably I will download every free app, just because of my fondness for free things!
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Probably Sudoku student, Asphalt and maybe Pictobits. The music in pictobits is fun to listen to, and Sudoku and Asphalt are good to do a quick round now and then.
All the rest lose their fun after a while, and flipnote I really don't use often, go online to check what's new but it's always a petition or some moron taking a clip already online but add some colours.

I totally 100% agree about Flipnote... sad but true... after the initial charm wore off about a week into it, I just don't play it anymore... Oh, and I have to agree with you about Sudoku Student, I have played that one for the past 2 months and love it, and Sudoku Master is good, too. I really found those to be challenging games with much depth of play.

Ignore this guy. The Gameloft games aren't the pinnacle of game design, but they are fun time wasters. Getting through all the Asphalt 4 levels will sap up quite a bit of time and Guitar Rock will keep you playing just so you can create more magazine covers. (That feature really is priceless. )

.....Are you insane? Asphalt 4 is one of the best DSiWare games in the DSi Shop right now! And Gameloft is one of DSiWare's most supported (third-party) developer!

Nah. See. The Art Style games are all genuinely fresh experiences - in four of the five I honestly felt like I was playing something new Zengage wasn't exactly original, but puzzle games like that still feel original each time.
Mario Vs DK, with the level editor, has unlimited playability. Dragon Quest, with the multiplayer, is a similar deal.
I've already played Ashpalt 4 many times before - in better games. It shamelessly cribs everything that made Burnout and Need for Speed good, and executes them with none of the style. Not just that, but the game just isn't as tightly programmed as other ones on the DSiWare - same goes for Real Soccer.
If you like the game, then great, recommend it - but I'm quite entitled to provide an alternative opinion, and in my opinion anyone who has played a Need for Speed, Fifa or Guitar Hero game is going to find Ashphalt, Real Soccer, or Guitar Rock tour a very disappointing knock off.
