Topic: Tetris Party Live False Advertising?

So I got Tetris Party Live on DSiWare and its great and all but I can't help noticing that it seems that there are some modes missing that are said to be in the game in the game's description. The description reads:
Now you can party with Tetris whenever and wherever you like! Tetris Party Live features several exciting game modes from the popular Tetris Party series, including Marathon (a favorite single-player mode), Computer Battle (challenge the computer), VS Battle (challenge a friend) and Duel Space (strategize to claim more space than an opponent). But the party doesn’t stop there: Take the Tetris fun online via the Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection service (broadband Internet access required) and enjoy multiplayer Tetris with up to three opponents at a time. You can also use the global ranking system to see how your Tetris Party Live skills stack up against the rest of the world.

The first few things are fine. Its got a Marathon mode and a Computer Battle mode. However, it is sorely missing the stated VS Battle against a friend. There is a complete lack of any kind of download play or local wireless. Also, the Duel space mode isn't available outside of online. This wouldn't be a problem but the Duel Space mode is mentioned before they bring up the fact that the game has wi-fi support, meaning that the first mention of Duel Space is totally unrelated to the online Duel Space, the only Duel Space in this download. Lastly, While you can play online and have a points rating like any other Tetris game, There is no "Global Ranking System" or in simpler terms, "leaderboard." There is absolutely no way to view a leaderboard of everyone's score in the world. So the game's description advertises 3 rather big features that are completely missing from the game. That is false advertising. I certainly hope that they plan to work with Nintendo to update Tetris Party Live to have all the features that the description right on the game's DSiWare page advertises. I can't help but feel a little ripped off by this as local multi-player is kind of a big deal to me. Anyone else a little ticked by this? Are any of those 3 things in the game and I just can't find them?

Actually everything listed in the description is in the game. It's just worded a bit confusingly so you think there's more. They got the description back to front. (Listing all available game modes, then talking about WFC when some of the game modes are only available in WFC.) They never mentioned DS Download Play or local wireless.

VS Battle, yes, you can play with a friend, but you have to play over Nintendo WFC. If you have a friend with Tetris Party Deluxe or Live this should not be a problem.

You are given a scoring number (initially 5000) when you play VS or Duel Spaces online, and that score raises or lowers when you win or lose. It's a general indicator of how "good" you are at the game, and you can use it to compare yourself with others. Global ranking system doesn't necessarily mean "leaderboard", and the scoring numbers work just as well if you want to compare your skills with the people you play against.

I'm actually really happy with the amount of content available for a game worth $5. This game was a really pleasant surprise and was well worth the purchase for me.

I have a quick question - is the puzzle mode available is in this version?

@Froggievilleus Tetris Party Live is focused on Tetris online multiplayer.

There is no puzzle mode in any Tetris Party game. You're thinking Tetris DS. If you want the extra modes like Shadow or Sprint, get Tetris Party Deluxe or Tetris Party WiiWare.

Also, about the ranking system. The number is smarter than just "number goes up if you win". If you lose against someone miles ahead of you in rank, you'll still get points. If you win against someone miles behind you in rank, you won't get many points at all. The system seems quite intelligent. It's intended, I think, to actually rank players in relation to one another accurately over many plays so that you can judge each other's expertise using a fair standard.

@HM: Well, I guess everything is technically there. Although its still a little shadey the way it is worded because it leads one to believe something is there that isn't. Oh well. It is just 5 bucks and 5 bucks for online Tetris is pretty good.
