Do not buy this game... game has no story real reason to play it.. its just a one single board set up. if you win you win if you lose you lose

no stat tracking or anything...

biggest waste of 5 bucks i spent so far on the dsiwere games sad to say

Review 0 out of 10

will give it more time tonight but first looks i would say Stay far far away from this game..also the game seems buggy.. it might be a reason why nintendo dropped the price from 800 pts to 500 pts (it was listed at 800 last week)

edit seems no matter what mode you pick its just one map you win or lose and game over no stats no nothing .. would attempt to contact the company to see if its a bug in the game but they are overseas with no english option i can find to submit a claim

Wow... thats bad.

Lifes like a game there are those who are good at it and those who need some practice.

Why would you assume that "no stat tracking" is the result of a bug in the game? I'm assuming it's just something the developer didn't implement in the first place.

I take it you've never played the board game upon which it's based? If you have, you probably wouldn't be any more likely to complain about this game having only one map, or the fact that "if you win you win if you lose you lose" than you would a game of Checkers.

Working on my review now...I think we're going to have some fundamental disagreements over the quality of this one!

No idea if a Stratego videogame is fun, but I think it's something that would benefit from being simpler. I tried the updated Stratego Legends boardgame and for me it was too advanced to be fun (compared to Risk 2210 A.D. which is a similar update but a great one).

no i was saying there is No stat tracking in the game

the bug is another issue ... when the game is over when you hit the top button the screen goes black and some werid thing pops up and goes back to the title screen (maybe something is wrong with my Dsi or it doesnt like this game lol)

what my biggest complant is they show 6 faces on the front image making people think (at least i thought this) that you would be going though some sort of mission type game taking down these 6+ people. Why put up 6 different faces if they have nothing to even do with the game

i still wonder why they took the game from 800 pts to 500 pts ..i wonder if there was something more that was going to be added but then they could not fit it into the dsiwere port .

main point is how they had the front image it seems like there was more then one person to fight against

Imperfect

Well this game is targeted more at people who have played the board game. Cnsidering the board game costs about 10 dollars, and that this has custom rules and AI installed in, it seems to me to be a very good deal. Of course if you don't like stratego itself this will not appeal to you.

i will admit the more i play it the more it grows on me... still would of liked it ( LOL almost spelled licked ) to have some sort of mission based play .. the 6 faces on the cover threw me off it made at least me think it was mission based game

So because it acts like the actual board game which also doesn't track stats or anything, somehow it sucks. Good logic there.

It's a board game, for pete's sake. There's only ever been one board in the game. It doesn't need a story or missions, and there's not much use for stat tracking without online play. Why do those people have to be your opponents? It would only be a small aestetic change. Just play on the different difficulty settings and different game types, and it's just like your playing different opponents. Those people on the box art are probably some of the faces that the game uses for the various pieces.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Something tells me you didn't even know Stratego was a board game before you purchased this. And your complaint about not seeing the faces is like complaining that the Monopoly man doesn't appear as a playable character in a Monopoly game. But I agree with the fact there should be epic story lines integrated into board games. The next Sorry game should tell us the story behind why the different colors decided to go to war with each other, but are so sympathetic to the enemies they send back home.
