Hello,
my first game is finished now!!

Its in the Beta and in the next update i make bettet Backgrounds and sprites.

When I did it a bunch of white rectangles scattered everywhere appeared.

sorry. is the lag better though? (imma also try to fix the tnt texture. it messed up during conversion)

Is it possible to save multiple strings to one MEM file?

@Hansausage Yes, as long as either:

• The strings in question are an exact size (say 10 characters all the time)
• The strings in question will never contain a certain character.

The first method is slightly easier: let's say you know the first string is always 10 characters and the second string is always 12. You can store the two strings together like this:

MEM$ = STRING1$ + STRING2$

And then do a save. Then, if you want to extract the two strings, you'd do:

STRING1$ = LEFT$(MEM$, 10)
STRING2$ = MID$(MEM$, 10, 12)

You could also use RIGHT$ instead of MID$ if you're only going to have two strings; otherwise you should use MID$.

The other way is a little more difficult: if you know your strings will never contain a certain character (we'll say '#' for this example), you can use that character as a delimiter between strings. For instance, let's say you have STRING1$, STRING2$ and STRING3$, but you don't know the size (but they never contain '#'). You can save the strings like so:

MEM$ = STRING1$ + "#" + STRING2$ + "#" + STRING3$

Then save the mem file. Next, if you want to extract the strings, you'd use INSTR. INSTR returns the first location of a string you're searching for within another string. In this case, we're searching for "#", because it'll tell us where the next string starts.

NEXTSTRING = INSTR(MEM$, "#")
STRING1$ = LEFT(MEM$, NEXTSTRING)
MEM$ = RIGHT$(MEM$, LEN(MEM$) - NEXTSTRING) - 1)
(Repeat for each string except the last one)

NEXTSTRING holds the location of the first "#" in MEM. Then, we get all the characters up to NEXTSTRING as STRING1$. Finally, we erase the first string (including the '#', which is why we have -1) from MEM$ so that we can do it again for the next '#'. When you get to the last string, you can just assign whatever is left over in MEM$ to it, since there won't be any more '#' to cut out.
